  1. airliner pieces from LDD LU mode. Colored how I want them. (I figure if anyone actually builds the thing, they can repaint the jets if they have them.) I'm going to make the LXF available to Eurobricks members when it's finished. if LDD allowed the flexible use of netting, there would be Lego nets going from one side of the rigging around to the other.
  2. Every once in a while, (So far 3 times) "Brick" focuses on individual Lego bricks that are in the storage bin. (Though, I guess the bin must be mostly empty, as there is very little seen in the background of these strips.) Anyway. I figured those of you who take the time to either sort your bricks by color or type would like today's (05/26/2010) installment.
  3. thank you. =) todays Brick: meanwhile, in the brick bin... Edit: man, this sucks. I went to add a "Brick: (webcomic)" article to "Brickipedia" and when I was previewing it, I noticed a spelling error. When I went to fix the error, it said my web page had expired or timed out or something and I lost everything. I'm too disheartened to start over right now. I'll redo it later. =/
  4. putting akbar there so that he can conveniently say his favorite line on cue was my favorite part.
  5. I see you're going for simple and angular. bold and to the point.
  6. cool. that's small enough to use as the head of a mech. I know it's to be as is, I've seen some of your other skull stuff well, back to comic-ing... I'm supposed to have a new "Brick" up in 2 hours
  7. i like how you used four hollow studs as greeble on each wing. =D
  8. that's pretty sweet. that'll teach those space cops to pull them over for interplanetary speeding.
  9. looks cool. (and very large.) I think if you wanted the torsos and legs to look more like star trek uniforms, you could possibly give them a speckled clearcoat so that their spandex looks more like spandex. Either that or use diffused lighting when photographing them. ;) I've seen other Trek MOCs, but never at minifig scale (or close to it)
  10. looks cool. my airship is going to be a combination of lift props and gas bags with a steam boiler and some nice mississippi riverboat stacks. I have a pic of the basic frame with the bags up already, but I actually have more of it done at this time. Randals air ship WIP I have a prop only tug you can see here. (The dialog seen at the above link is suggestive but clean. SFW, but only if nobody is offended by suggestive humor.)
  11. one way to get around limited brick availability is to do it using LDD. Which I am using for my Gilded age airship. You can see it if you click on this link.
  12. it wasn't an illegal connection. I was using LDD to build sets 5973 & 5974 and in both sets, the part where the top edge of the front ferring is supposed to tuck under a brick (in each case, a brick that meets the bottom edge of the canopy), the wing/cowling/ferring pieces collision detection extends past the brick and into the space occupied by the overlaying brick. Um, to keep this on topic, I don't understand why LDD has the technic projectile, but not the launcher. I had to make a modification so I could finish the other vehicle in the set pictured above. I would also love it if the skin modifier that allows you to change shirts, control panels and face paint also let you add official lego decals to the bricks they are meant for, like the ones seen on the ships in the picture I posted.
  13. Today I used one of the smaller SP3 sets, though I had to change the canopy... and it's been recolored. >_>
  14. good to know. that might be why I wasn't able to get the excavator to propperly line up
  15. That looks really good.
  16. I think it has something to do with the material under it used as clouds. (but that's only dangerous speculation)
  17. I would like the technic wings to have better collision detection. It is sloppy and you can't place them in certain legal proximities. By legal, I mean they're on official sets in some of the new space police sets, but I have to modify the sets to allow the wing's placement. Actually, as someone mentioned before, I'd like the ability to manipulate or turn off collision detection. and to reitterate, make flexible pieces flexible. I want chains that hang and hoses that flex. This would also allow sails that could be placed on ships.

Oooh. I like this a lot. it has a nice retro feel to it.
  19. Growing up, my favorites were and This one was especially cool with the mini-base detached. but these days I like the Space Police III stuff the best. I'm really looking forward to building the Limo
  20. That's pretty cool. Maybe i can PS some alternate colors for you later.
  21. I see a minifig seat, but from the looks of it, this is not minifig scale. Looks pretty cool though. The only things I don't see are buoyant air bags or heli-gyros keeping it up. what keeps it up? In response to those who say there's too much blue... I'm sure this is alternate present steampunk, but even if it is gilded age steampunk, I'd like to point out they did have blue paint 150 years ago. =P
  22. Had you thought about adding a moon lander? (or some lander of some type... say a 50's sci fi rocket ship.) I also like the ray gun that comes with this figure. =)
  23. haha! cool I want to use LDD to make that Optimus Prime I saw somebody make that was transformable. =)
  24. This is cool stuff. I like the old oxidized parts and the gears on the guns. Dystopic/post apocalyptic societies are fun. (I'm a huge Mad Max fan) (I personally like what I can do to make LDD look better by processing my screenshots. I'm not going to add my own images to this thread, I'm not going to derail it or steal his thunder, but There are over 50 examples of what I've done using LDD found by clicking on the banner in my sig.)
