  1. This is cool. Thanks for the canopy idea.
  2. I'm working on my own steampunk dirigible, though I don't have access to a zeppelin piece, I did take some airliner pieces, recolor and repurpose them into two somewhat believable looking gas bags suspended above a viking ship body and some scaffold rigging. For the ropes I used the hard rigging from the pirate ships. I keep meaning to work on it, but the comic takes up most of my available Lego time. To be honest, I didn't know there was a blimp mold piece, but I like how you used it here. Sort of reminds me a little of the Albatros that Vincent Price commanded as Robur in Master of the World. (Though the movie version looked nothing like what Verne envisioned.)
  3. I used the original color of this and also another SP3 ship in today's brick. One of my prettiest strips to date.
  4. Yesterday I built 3 Space Police III vehicles and used two of them for today's comic. One of them is also displayed in the LDD Official Sets thread. I'm not sure, but I think another person might have done the other model I used earlier in that thread.
  5. Here is a 2010 Space Police set. Raid VPR, set 5981. I included a fire and construction recolor and then put them in action. Image
  6. cool. (and for all you Lego Batman fans, he's featured in today's 'Brick'... if you're not reading this today, it is the one titled. "#051 Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb." though the title has nothing to do with the contents. I only used it because it's my absolute favorite Adam West Batman line ever.)
  7. Today's Brick features Lego Batman and in spirit, Lego Robin. (I once read someone ask "what's Batman without Robin?" I immediately thought, "A story I'll actually enjoy.") Obviously, I'm not a huge Robin fan when teamed with Batman (I like him better in Teen Titans), but he turned out to be useful for today's comic.
  8. why of course. I just don't know where I can load them. I no longer have a place where I can load more than image files. Also, I used an even different color scheme mod for today's Brick. I agree. I think within the last five years, you'll see a trend in all themes that I think was sparked by the designers of the Star Wars Line. People want more polished sets with more detail and fewer exposed studs. I have been looking through brickset a lot lately and that seems to be system wide. Even the Star Wars sets from before five years ago were slightly less polished. But I think that line was the catalyst.
  9. I couldn't find the launcher piece, so I made my own little thingie to go there. then I said, "What the heck. it's already modified" so I made it "Batman blue."
  10. Could be fun, and the price is not too high. Lower than most sets of bricks.
  11. Too bad you didn't have a reflective gold visor. I mean, in this version, we get to see samus' gender, but I just meant for authenticity of the outfit.
  12. I like how your rigging is chains instead of ropes. Coincidentally, I used a pirate in today's "Brick", though he doesn't look nearly as healthy or fortunate as yours shown here.) I like the black sails. I wish LDD had sails... and flexible chains... Nets too, for that matter.
  13. Today is my 50th consecutive daily comic for Brick. I started Brick 52 days ago on April Fool's day, but I took down the original test image and put up the first comic 2 days later. Every day since April 3rd there has been a new comic. I've had comics go on for more than 50 strips before, but never for every day of the week on this long of a string. That makes me feel good. I realize that's less than two months, but then again most webcomics with 50 pages take anywhere from 3- 12 months to get that far. Looking back, there are some that didn't quite work visually or were not worded exactly right, but some I still think are very funny. I'm happy with how it's come along up to this point. I had thought with the ease of use of LDD that there would be others making Lego themed comics with it long before I started, but it appears (unless someone steps forward) that I'm the only one. That's kind of neat. I've never been a trend setter before. (Though more likely I'm just a fluke. I'd like to think not, but I tend to be pessimistic by nature.) I don't think Lego purists have quite warmed up to the comic yet, but some of you more progressive types seem to be reading. My readership has jumped since I've been chumming with you blokes and I thank you for that.
  14. I think it's because the pictures of real life models have scale references in them, be it the setting the model is placed in or the individual bricks themselves. Both of which are pretty much unavoidable. Where as in LDD, you mostly don't see the individual bricks. Also, on your version of Falling Water, it looks better when you twist the tree bricks to the way they are in the instructions. (At least, that's my opinion)
  15. so... KDog... we meet again. (To everyone else, so that this makes sense, KDog and I both have our respective comics hosted on Drunk Duck.)
  16. Some of the last books I've read are Dirk Gently's Hollistic Detective Agency and some (well, most really) of the Wooster and Jeeves books by PG Wodehouse. If you haven't read them, Edgar Rice Burroughs is more known for his Tarzan books, but I recommend his Barsoom series. (AKA John Carter of Mars). A Princess of Mars is one of my favorite books, mainly because of Tars Tarkas.
  17. heh. too vague for you, maybe. =) Something vague to one person is crystal clear to another. But I'll try to be more specific in the future.
  18. That's it. That's the piece. Thank you. So I guess the top wasn't meant to be connected, from that set you showed. bummer. I'll just look at the afts of the larger pirate galleons.
  19. have you used the LU mod? If not, I'd use the mod, then try to finish it.
  20. have you thought about getting vynal for your trenchcoat template? I would actually contact Lego about using that design, as it is most excelent. (Sorry. Bill & Ted was on earlier)
  21. Most of these are pretty cool. I can't see a lot of them on the last post though. As for pietro Maximoff, I think draco is too young to play him. (nor am I impressed with his acting, and since Pietro is one of my favorite Marvel characters of all time, I'd hope his casting were given more care. Pious aristocrats have to be played just right or they come off as pompous jerks.) I came up with a different wheelchair design you may like. it has larger wheels in the back that look more like wheelchair wheels. It still needs a little work, but it looks pretty much like your standard wheelchair. Edit: I forgot to add that I was looking through hair pieces and the one they use for Dracula would make excelent Wolvierine hair.
  22. I would, but I'm not at home on my own computer, but I will later. I think it's at the bottom of the section that has the bicycle and motorcycle parts and propellers. It's definately in the section that has the viking ship sections.
  23. In LDD, there is a piece that looks like it is for a pirate ship, called something like "Skull deck" that looks like the back of a galleon. But when I was looking through the Pirate sets, I couldn't find it on any ship. (Unless I missed one) I was trying to see how to incorperate it into a model, as part of it at the top doesn't match other lego bricks, or at least not any I could find to match it.
  24. I did Falling water also, but it was before the LU mod, so some of the pieces were off in color. That set is decieving, because it is small but there are a ton of little pieces and it took a lot longer than I had anticipated. (I was watching Gene Simmons Family Jewels at the time and I know there were several episodes that passed before I finished.)
  25. This will probably never happen, but Disney Lego sets I'd like to see include: Cruella DeVille's car, Tron Lightcycle, King Louie's temple, Dumbo's flame covered clown act tower, Monstro (With Gepetto on his little boat inside.), The Nautilus, The boat from Steamboat Willie, Malificent's castle and dragon form, Captain Hook's ship, vehicles from Chip N Dale: Rescue Rangers... There are a lot of other things I'd like to see, and I've seen a lot of you mention some good stuff, but these are things I don't remember seeing mentioned in the thread.
