I was there on the Sunday too, and was miffed about the queue in the store as well as outside (due to being "open for browsing"). Thankfully I got there early enough to get one of the models, and I think it was worth it for a freebie. It's that annoying bracket part (currently only available in this set) that will prevent anyone from building it with spares, but I'm guessing a 1x4 with four studs on the side could replace it. Might give it a try. I also wondered why three 1x1 plates were used instead of a 1x1 brick.

The accessories were added to BrickLink yesterday. Get ready, folks.

I caved in and got the new bank set, despite the price tag. Also bought two PAB cups, three build-a-figs and a female magnet set.

Them speakers look familiar, son! But seriously, that's a very nice modular building - the exterior is okay, with the balcony being a very nice touch, but the interior definitely stands out. I had hoped to see a jacuzzi somewhere, and the roof is probably the best place for it. (Got to get some of those transparent tiles.)

Having seen the video, I think it's time to start robbing some stores (I joke, of course). The price tag is bound to make my eyes water, though.

Okay folks, everything except the red row boat and the catamaran part have been reserved. Never thought there'd be so much interested in boat parts! I'll see what else I can dig up tomorrow.

Okay, here's some more pictures. The back of the building. All of the designs had elevator doors incorporated, but it wasn't until the third iteration that I decided to actually have an elevator. The elevator is simply a plate with an old school rack mechanism attached. I was fortunate enough to have the relevant parts in my collection - the long rack pieces go for quite a lot on BrickLink. The second design had a third floor added; this is for the president's/chairman's office and his PA's reception. The US version of The Apprentice provided some inspiration. The second floor is the glassy meeting room area, with stair access from the first floor. The first floor is effectively an open lounge, complete with drinks cabinet and under-stair trophy display. If you want tea or coffee there's a very tight space under the stairs for it too. Watch TV while you wait. The ground floor has the main reception.

I don't mind, just as long as something goes! I know I had two of those catamaran parts at some point, but I'll have to double-check.
