  1. Must - have - goldfish.......... *collapses under weight of awesomeness*
  2. speculators annoy the hell out of me. It's like holding Lego to ransom. Luckily there are decent people out there who are sane and fair minded who don't behave so dubiously but they are few and far between.
  3. the actual lower hull is nice but the deck is horrible. it might have looked better in tan or white but the way it overhangs rather than being recessed is disappointing. I'll probably buy the hull from bricklink when the power boat transport shows up with a white deck just to have another small boat but I won't buy the set.
  4. The concept behind the creation sucks elephant balls but the helmet is cool. If instead of the brain dumbing non reading aspect they equipped the helmet with cool space sound effects it would work. engine noises to play while swooshing a lego ship around. laser gun noises. spaceman communications chatter. alien babble. that sort of thing that enhances play with lego. Not the travesty of having kids read less. That's utterly reprehensible. And yes, I do realise it's only a concept. not an actual product.
  5. Reminds me of a 1970's University building. A bit of formal greenery on the front and a large University sign instead of the fabuland storesign and it'd look just right. split the interior into smaller rooms with those rolling chalkboards and some desks. a reception desk near the front entrance. It'd be great. ~Of course for a university you'd need more exits. and a car park. and bus stop. and other similarly cool retro buildings.

Great little vehicle. I like it. I'm just not sure I like the roll cage. It seems a little odd looking in side view. Oh I know, In side view it reminds me of Fabuland for some reason. If I mask off the cage with my hand the rest of the truck looks fine it's just the peculiarity of that piece's design. Hmmm would it look ok if the rear of the cage was lower? Maybe attached to 1x1 tile with clip pieces.
  7. Interesting. I decided a while back that trying to build my town around baseplates would be quite limiting given the basic layouts one can achieve with the four road plates available. So I decided to (eventually) make a painted base board with more interesting road layout that I could then place buildings onto. Which would give me better opportunity to lay down roads of single, double narrow or wide lanes. I could have any degree of curve or diagonal also. Plus allow me to have car parks of any size without having to tile to get a smooth surface. Effectively it's also a budgetry concern. Baseplates are getting more expensive and I don't have the funds any more to purchase the amount of baseplates I'd want. Table sized bases that are painted are the best solution for me. As town planner I can just repaint and have roads, pedestrianised areas, green spaces or whatever anywhere I choose without being limited to the constraints of the Lego designated stud/road patterns. I've seen a few large public displays with painted baseboards and they work well. If I want hill roads I can also do that more easily than I could with Lego baseplates. That's not to say I don't like Lego baseplates. I do. I have lots of them and they're great for building on and keeping things together. I just don't think they're the best solution in terms of play or display.
  8. Thanks Grogall. much appreciated. Now I see the back print on the lighthouse keeper I want that torso even more. Makes me wish Lego did more of the same torsos in different colours. this one in various different colours would be great.
  9. Looks like a brickforge neck armour piece with brickforge segmented shoulder pauldron to me. Loving the ray gun. not so much in the trans neon but the bronze looks great even with the barrel broken off.
  10. The harbour is so not worth £72. Won't be paying that.
  11. Cool! Could possibly have side doors rather than rear ones. looks a little like a delivery truck with rear doors and side doors would give better access to to the interior plus give you somewhere for steps to fold under the truck.

  13. This and the progenitor set are out.
  14. I don't keep a tally of what I have but however much it is, it isn't enough. there are always new parts, parts in new colours, rare parts and parts I've never seen before to hunt down. I need tons more tan and greys. There never seems to be enough of the right kind of baseplate. And I'm limited by a tiny budget. I'll never be satisfied. Unless I win millions in a lottery and can go nuts spending.
  15. I'd love to see that bottle in black or trans green. Is the globe the space helmet piece from Sandy Cheeks in the spongebob theme? It seems smaller to me.
  16. Minifigs are short. I'd guess with their short limbs and large heads they more closely resemble children than adults. designed to resemble the physiology of the little people playing with them.
  17. Is that a dark blue-ish grey 2x4 tile I spy in the polybag? Oh I hope it is. ~The rest of the set doesn't interest me but gotta have me some of those tiles.
  18. There's a golden shamshir in the set. on the back wall.
  19. I've honestly never counted. To be honest every time i go to the drawer that contains themI'm surprised at the ones I do have. I buy them loose and sort them and forget I have them. I know the largest quantities I have are policemen and construction workers. Other overall wearing workers and firemen come close second. I'll have to count them some day when I've nothing else to do.
  20. I keep them with all my other minifigs in press-lock bags sorted by profession/type in a big drawer among all the other drawers full of Lego. I'm sure that at some point I'll have some on display but I don't have the shelf space right now.
  21. Watched the German language version of the movie on youtube. Interesting... I didn't spot Wu in a black outfit though he does look better in black. Great little movie though. Even watching a version in a language I don't speak it's easy to follow. Shadow Garmadon is cool. I was only going to buy a few bits and bobs from this line but now I'll consider buying whole sets.
  22. I'd be quite happy to pay the shipping costs too. I think it's the least I could do for free pieces.
  23. I did just this with my Hasbro star wars action figures, although I donated to charity shops as it was the fastest way to offload stuff. There does come a point sometimes where a mass of plastic can feel overwhelming. I can totally understand giving stuff away. If you're deadly serious about this Jim, I'd be interested in city stuff or just any loose windows and doors you have.
  24. Only train I want is a subway/underground train. As cool as cargo or intercity trains are, I need something for local travel in my city beyond the bus and taxi. Yes there's a tram now but frankly I've always loved underground trains. My favourite is the current London underground with it's arched shape. I suppose that might be a little difficult to achieve in minifig scale and still be fun to play with. I'd buy any underground train though.
  25. I like the car. Definitely the best colour scheme of it so far. Have you tried reversing the orange and black? I love the two colors together. I'm not sure which way I'd have them if I was driving that car. I'd probably need to have one of each.
