  1. My apologies if there's a tutorial on the recent updates to the Powered Up app somewhere - I haven't been able to find one. Having spent a couple of days playing with recent updates to the app, here's some stuff I figured out so far. I'm sure somebody can contribute with more: how to create custom control profiles with drive & steering motors (also works for the C+ Servo motor) how to set up joysticks, end-to-end buttons, sliders and how to enable controlling motors by tilting your device how to set up display of a motor's speed or position
  2. Can't see any clear difference in performance. Probably because the size and weight of the tires are pretty much unchanged.
  3. Getting the GPS signal in a room or hall has proven somewhat tricky so far ;)
  4. Wake up Samurai, we have a buggy to fix ;) In all seriousness, I think 42124 is a great modding material and my first step was trying to boost the performance while staying within the confines of the Control+ system. A detailed explanation and demonstration is in the video below, and the short story is: - with vanilla 42124 and regular 1.5V batteries I'm getting between 4 and 5 km/h - by adding a second drive C+ L motor and gearing the two motors up 1:1.6 (theoretically that's 25% more torque and 66% more speed) and still using the same batteries I got between 5 and 6 km/h - switching from regular 1.5V batteries to 1.2V rechargeable Eneloop batteries produces speed of slightly above 6 km/h I'm not happy with these results, it seems like the last iteration has a lot of power but it's actually only slightly faster. My conclusion is that the power supply is the limitation here, and to see a significant increase in speed we'll have to double it or replace it with something else, or go full PF on the 42124.
  5. Sorry about that. It was the last set I was reviewing and I had very little time left, and clearly wasn't paying enough attention.
  6. I don't think they are trying to get a hold off it at all. LEGO sets and RC cars are two vastly different kinds of toys.
  7. And 42096 isn't a racing car within the same scale?
  8. @captainmib I think the real question is WHY would it compare it with 42077 when it's clearly a successor to the 42096, not 42077?
  9. Exactly why I'm not including it. Plus the reviews are long enough already.
  10. @JintaiZ Sounds like you really need to start making your own reviews.
  11. Right! It was suspiciously low part number on the list that fooled me. New pieces usually have higher numbers than this thing did.
  12. @JintaiZ Ultimately, beauty is in the eye of beholder. To me the 42117 looks odd, with blocky shapes, coffin-like fuselage and way too many exposed mechanical pieces.
  13. Two LEGO Technic sets are down to $9.99 price range this year. Here's the bigger and flashier one of them:
  14. Two LEGO Technic sets are down to $9.99 price range this year. Here's the more functional one of them:
  15. Here's the other of the two first licensed pull-back sets. Perhaps not as famous as the Grave Digger, but definitely more authentic-looking:
  16. The first licensed pull-back sets ever are here, and here's the more nightmarish one:
  17. Quite possibly the most fun and outdoorsy Technic set since the Supersonic RC.
  18. Here it is, the return of the Ferrari brand into Technic:
  19. Looks absolutely stunning. Can it drive at 8 kg?
  20. Just a little pre-holiday build. Merry Christmas everyone!
  21. Zerobricks: making the LEGO company look lazy again ;)
  22. I've brought this subject up with my publisher recently but no response so far. I'm under impression that they haven't been doing that well lately. Perhaps piracy and pandemic hit them hard.
  23. The first 2021 Technic set's review is here, with next sets to follow on December 15th:
  24. Review out today at 15:00 CET (5 hours 20 minutes from now).
