  1. No, I'm not getting hired by LEGO. I don't think this will ever happen.
  2. The reason is somewhat different and will be revealed in a couple of days.
  3. To complete the review, here's the 42100 designer answering the most burning questions :)
  4. That ability is coming, and soon. Wait for my October 1st interview with the designer of the 42100 to hear more.
  5. Due to reasons that will be revealed in the first week of October, LEGO has been kind enough to allow me to release my full 42100 Liebherr R 9800 review earlier than other authorized reviewers: Chapters for your convenience: 00:37 - box and unboxing 04:13 - new pieces 05:59 - pieces in new colors 06:28 - parts list 06:47 - speed build 23:33 - functions 32:21 - impressions 43:43 - final note
  6. They know, actually. As I've explained in my 42099 review, the official app recognizes what motors are connected to the smart hub and the 42099 controls will work ONLY with two XL and one L motors connected, and they will ONLY let you use both XL motors for driving and one L motor for steering. With any other motors configuration, the app just won't connect to the hub. It's good to know what you're writing about. And let the man use whatever software he wants, what's the problem? Is using third-party apps stealing from LEGO or something?
  7. So yeah, this is pretty amazing, especially how quickly the app connects to the hubs and how flawlessly it works. I wish BuWizz added Servo-like control and gaming pad connectivity, I'd love to control my 42100 with a gaming pad. Maybe in the future? The BuWizz app can be downloaded here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buwizz.buwizz2
  8. I was unable to get the engine to run smoothly beyond the 4th gear and driving a wheel with a PF XL motor generated plenty of cracking sounds from inside the transmission.
  9. I suspect all the boxes and extras might have been required by the license. I agree that the set doesn't do anything new, but 4x4 vehicles with full suspension are still rare among LEGO sets and this one looks really awesome and detailed. Remember when large Technic vehicles were full of gaps and holes? It wasn't so long ago.
  10. It looks like deep olive green under strong white light which I'm using. I guess the brownish hue appears when using yellow or slightly yellow light.
  11. I made my 42110 pug-powered (drops the mic). See my video review for details.
  12. Yes, a long video, but 12 minutes of it is speed build and I'm including chapters below: 00:49 - box and unboxing 03:18 - new pieces 04:32 - pieces in new colors 06:11 - parts list 06:30 - speed build 18:32 - functions 21:51 - impressions 28:38 - final note
  13. Using it. Does Adobe Premiere allow you to broadcast live to a YouTube channel? Anyway, here's the 42110 Designer Interview:
  14. I've started one but had to give up on it, as the YT app kept crashing on all my devices.
  15. Got the set yesterday, with a bit of luck the review will be ready tomorrow and I'll have a long interview with Milan about the 42110 published today.
  16. Precisely. This is the same ratio I've calculated from my X-ray shots.
  17. Lego is shipping review sets on 10th and the embargo date is 11th 16:00 CEST. Which means that people will be racing to make a review and mine usually take a while to complete, edit and whatnot, so my review certainly won't come on 11th but a few days after.
  18. For certain reasons (which will become clear in October), I'm going to be able to show my 42100 review 2 weeks earlier than other reviewers:
  19. I haven't noticed any such drastic wear in my 42099... but I DID notice that the new CV joint "socket axles" show some wear around the section that was inside the 5x7 frame. Sorry, don't have a picture at the moment.
  20. The biggest issue with the 42070 is that someone bought it in the first place ;)
  21. I haven't made the virtual model yet, sorry. But it's almost all common white pieces, I don't think availability is going to be an issue.
  22. Each tire is different and I've never seen those, so can't really say.
