Next Generation 8258 MOC
efferman replied to RemcoTec's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
pretty huge, btw how wide is it? the tires are looking a little bit to big for the width of the truck -
Power Functions
efferman replied to Rook's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
the white gear is a torque clutch. this is needfull if you have a function which could run into a endposition. at a defined torquepoint the internal mechanism slips and prevent the function/motor against overload. -
Effe's MOC Corner

i have built a new chassis. same wheelbase and width, but two studs more ground clearance between the axles. two pics is it only my opinion or are these rims the perfect mercedes rims? -
Effe's MOC Corner

surprisingly i had today no gear slip. Sure it is nothing for a truck trial contest but it works good enough for me. for me it has a big advantage. where the 8110 (23 stus wide) has 9 studs between the steering pivot points, i have with my chassis (25 studs wide) 15 studs between the pivot points. the mudguards could be much smaller. edit: a short vid with the limits of a long wheelbase -

thanks sure can i post some pics i think because its long wheelbase it is only good on medium terrain. in fact it is no rock crawler -

so my new rims are arrived and i could make a little testride the climbing performance is nearly the same like my willys. unfortunately the long wheelbase is limiting a bit. the currently dimensions are: wheelbase 43 studs width 25 studs steering pivot point distance 15 studs ground clearance between the front axle 6.5 studs ground clearance between front and rear axle 7 studs -

yes, the shape of the lighthouse is truly a key to the design of the G. And yes its not funny that there so less technic parts are available in orange. unfortunately i could not build the complete body in orange. it seems that iam fall in love with orange. 100_8823 von efferman auf Flickr -

now iam following the trend and post all my future projects and ideas in one topic. i think this method is better for my sickness to unfinishing so much mocs. currently iam working on a remote controlled Unimog G. This is my Description for a Unimog / Mercedes G-Class Hybrid like this. Only the colours will be different. The plan is a trial Vehicle with similar offroad capabilitys like my Willys moc for the Tires iam using the new 8110 tires. I want see how good they performs in a offroad terrain. looks both great! have you more pics from the morgan? -
the dishes are not glued on the rims. so they can moved away@Timr my mudguards are to close to the tires to try snowchains @JunkstyleGio thank you very much
-
thanks for your hint, but with this solution the holes are on the wrong place. it would be perfect if your part has a diameter of 5 studs. sometimes i ask me why tlg does not make new rims for the mog. Truck rims have a massive offset and are giving much space for gearing. is there a need to make my own rims ? edit: does these rims fit on the 94,8 tires?
-
Black rims? something like this maybe? unfortunately the dishes have no holes like the real rims. Theme RC: i said not on this mog but there is maybe a U500 with maximum trackwidth option (it fits better to the tires) in the pipeline. this can i build 25 studs wide and the chassis like the original one, with a five link (four links+ panhard rod) suspension. p.s. hard to make pics from a black hole
-
thanks guys the platform looks so long, because i have choosed the long wheelbase version. RC? sorry, but not on this mog

Call the CDC, it seems we have a snowplow epidemy there is only one hose at the lifting cylinder because i want avoid too much pressure between the ground and the shield. the weight of the shield is enough to let it float on the ground.

The Gearbox
efferman replied to PerryMakes's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
in studded times this part was very usefull for wormgear transmissions, but now we have other ways to do the same. there is no reason to use it not if the gearbox fits for your needs. -
thank you very much iam only hoping that no one wants a instruction. i dont want disassemble it to make the instruction, and LDD is nothing for me.
-
Thanks guys and of course, there are some attachments in the pipeline. it is only hard to decide which one first
-
hm, you have a right for your own opinion, but when you look at the 8110, do you not must say that the cab of it is a little bit out of scale? the wheelbase and trackwidth fits perfect, compared to the tire diameter, to the real U400. But the Cab and its mudguards are to narrow, the platform is more narrow than the rear mudguards. And the rear mudguards are not at the same width like the tires. please compare the original 8110 with my first modifications there are not much parts needed to let it look much better and not so "bigfoot" like. with my own version iam going only a few steps more ahead to fit the other cab dimensions and get enough space for the vario pilot mode. thanks DLuders and Nazgarot edit some pics click the pics for bigger ones
