  1. today arrived my other tire sets. one set i have choosed with steel rims, because they are cheaper. but unfortunately the tires are glued to the rims, so you should look for beadlocks.
  2. unimog 66 grams with rim, the crawler tire has 97 grams with unimog rim
  3. iam not sure whats your intention with this post, because these are exactly the same rims which i have used
  4. currently i have only two tires so i couldnt test it on a vehicle, but tested with my hands the grip is much higher than the 94.8 tires from lego.
  5. a set of two tires (including RC rims) costs roundabout 20 euros. could please a mod combine the topics?
  6. you know that the lego tires are often too wide for their diameter or the pattern is only street legal and nothing for real offroad driving. now i have found some RC crawler tires which fits nearly perfect to the 8110 unimog rims. the tires came from the german manufacturer ansmann and have the number 211000224 the diameter is 108mm and the width is 40mm or 4,25"x1,45"- 1,9" they are ballon tires with a very soft rubber compound and with a foam inside here some pics if you know some other compatible third part tires, please tell it us.
  7. no fear the logging truck and the 81ß9 are only paused. currently i have only not much time for lego.
  8. cool, in which way did you connected the rc wheels to the lego axles?
  9. hm ,no i get two used and complete 8855 for each 36€ and during the building of the original i thinked there is a need for some tweaking with new parts maybe i will try next a cessna skymaster
  10. oh, my time is currently focussed on other things and my parts should be sorted in the boxes, but i dont want beginn this you are right with the found differencies, but there are more of them
  11. i find something cheap on the bay and i have made two pictures for you. what is different to the original 8855?
  12. i have found a solution which allows uneven surfaces under the tracks. now i use a horizontal hinge between wagon and bogie hinge point the dimensions of the coupling cover is depending of the length and width of the wagons, so everyone must find the best cover for the gap between the wagons if he use different dimensions
  13. i hope i understand you correct between the sections over the bogie and the other sections on my yellow locomotive i have a half stud space between the sections. but the corners of the middle section should be round to avoid a collision. And i think there is no limit for the count of bogies if the surface under the tracks is flat. btw. nice train
  14. it is surely an option, but i like technical solutions. @ lego train 12 volts no problem for my chief, it is built solid
  15. curently is only one train motor included. maybe a white japanese train will have more powered axles it is a relative simple setup, only to find the correct axle load is a little bit tricky. here is a little bit action both trains had the same speed and the vid has no speed up
  16. it works, but it needs a well balanced axle load to avoid traction problems. my actual version goes with full speed through corners. a vid will come next days
  17. i think we had a very good contest and many thanks for the parts which are arrived me, but i think we should get a part limit next time. my tugboat and some from the other models was very big and iam very happy that a small and creative entry has won the contest. please change only this point, everything else on the contest was perfect
  18. congratulations to thw winners and thanks for all of the contest entries. and to siegfried/sinner, thank you very much for this contest and its exiting water theme, it was very funny to build something completely different.
  19. my votes are going to: 6.) 1 vote for tomiks motor boat 10.) 1 vote for the leviathan of omikron 14.) 1 vote for the Piper Super Cub Float Plane from dhc6twinotter 13.) 4 votes for the Water Strider from Splat splat get the most points from me for the genius idea which he had.
  20. what does he use for these white balls/ cylinders?
