have you more informations or pictures? -
We on Doktor Brick have a small community project to make a tribute to Bricksonwheels. So we made a Scania R730 chassis with flatbed. its features are a XL for drive and two Servos for steering. the second servo is for the last axle which can steered and lifted remote controlled. the drivetrain has a compact two speed gearbox. The interior of the cab and the cargo Box are still missing and can done by everyone who want. thanks to catweazle now we have an instruction for it in two versions. in version one the cab will built on the chassis, and in version two the cab will built seperately. and we have some digital files for LDD and MLcad (1 and 2) we hope you like it

Of course you can use it, but you should know that the frame is made to be flexible when yo connect the rear end with the same method like at the front it will be more stiff. -

it will be nearly the same like the front axle, only without the steering system. -

yes, but i think the rear axle needs this combination too, the lego hubs are looking a bit silly in difference to mine ones. -

these are from the bionicle theme. the theme itself was nothing for me, but some of the parts are very usefull for technic. -

no, the surface of the caliper is clean. i will take a look at the design of the disk and the caliper, but actually i have to build with real bricks -

Gears, most wanted
efferman replied to efferman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
a 24 tooth clutch gear is allready made, and i think the walls would be on a freewheel 8 tooth to thin. Yes, Lego world and other fairs should be third party free. And yes i hope tlg thinks about some ideas in the inventor threads but some of them are to special and has to complex forms to produce it economiocal. my portal hub is like a portalhub on a unimog should be, but it can only used as portal hub and it is fixed on one gear reduction. i think it can be produced in a mold and so much cheaper than printed. but tlg will never do that. our custom parts are to special and wanted by to less people to make sense for lego. but lego, please think about a change in the large turntables and make it like the small one. every wobbly build on 8043 and 42009 would be history. aah now i understand these gears are not only for this strange thing. it is simply like the parts which alasdair has make to get three functions through the turntable. -

as allways had to clean the holes so there is no grainy surface in the holes. with good cleaned holes is the friction low -

to see if it made the steering more easy first i have to built the 8110. My U400 completely different, but why not, i have enough parts. the self centering should be possible, but i think the drivetrain of the 8110 steering needs to much force for it. it is simply to long. -

Because finally my new portal parts are arrived, i hve made a quick axle to test them. the trackwidth is the same like 8110, but now there is an 13L gearrack for steering possible. The Ackerman ngeometry is with actually setup very small in relation to standard methods in lego axles. here it can be adjusted by the height of steering rack. is ikt on height of the u-joint the wheels turning paralell. is it above of the u-joint the rack can be placed in front of the axle, down below it should placed behind the axle. 100_1153 von efferman auf Flickr -

the portal hubs are finally arrived first a picture of the angled camber part. can be used at straight axles too. the coral red fits proper to the red 2L axle . and the complete portal hub. the six hole piece which holds the rim has to be a bit more in diameter. actually there is some slack to the portal piece. the difference between my portalhub and the lego portal hub. the center of the u-joint is one stud more next to the rim. and the difference between racing wheel small, 8110 hub and my unimog rim and my portalhub. now the difference is two studs. -

i have a bad news about the harmonic drive. the teeths are to small for save printing. Currently it has the diameter of the XL motor. make it bigger?
