Awesome review and great pictures! I'm not sure if I will buy this, but it's growing on me.

Thanks to all the contestants that have taken the time to count and post their part counts in their entry topic. It is much appreciated.

Oh, you're right. I've got my tires confused. I thought I saw some fairly new tires while visiting a friend's bricklink store, and I thought these were them. Now I'm all confused and really curious what tires I saw. I stand corrected, and thanks for the clarification. Sorry for any confusion I may have caused. Back to the regularly scheduled program.

You are correct, they aren't 100% new, and I suppose I should have said "rare" or "fairly new". The tires came out in earlier 2013 sets, and up till now, have only been on the 6022 City Cargo Terminal set (front wheels on the forklift) and 10663 Creative Chest. Now we have them on this plane and the dump truck too. I like these tires, and it's nice to see them in more sets. BTW, thanks for the great review!

No working rudder? LEGO came sooo close to creating the most accurate plane they have ever produced, and they leave out the rudder? I don't get it. It would have been easy to add too. That's a bit disappointing. On the other hand, I wasn't expecting working flaps, and I like that they actually extend out and down, instead of just down. I'm really liking all the white parts, and they will come in handy for a future moc of mine. The new tire size works well with the plane, and should be a nice for future aviation mocs as well. Overall, a really great set, and probably the only 1H set I will be buying.

There are some awesome entries this year! I'm not going to have an entry for the competition. With me being out of the country until a few weeks ago and family here for Thanksgiving holiday, I just ran out of time. Of the three items, here's the only one I completed

LEGO Appreciation at Work
dhc6twinotter replied to NevynPA's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Can't go wrong with a girl that like The Fifth Element either. -
Mainly construction equipment, along with a few aircraft. I'm fine with a double flash for the construction equipment. A single flash would also be nice for the aircraft, but I could use the old 9v flashing system for that, if need be.

This all sounds like a great idea to me! I would be perfectly happy with just a double flash pattern similar to what is on the front of the airport fire truck at the top of the page. That would meet most of my needs. Supported.

LEGO Appreciation at Work

I think you should work with the cleaning crew for a bit. -
It looks like there are 4 control sticks on top of the plane. My guess for plane functions: Front two sticks operate the gearbox: -Front cockpit open/close -Rear ramp open/close -Props on/off -Landing gear Center stick: -Left/right movement controls ailerons -Forward/backward movement controls elevators Rear stick (in the blue part of tail): -Left/right movement controls rudder Just my guess. functions of center and rear stick may be reversed from what I've posted. Also, the hovercraft appears to have an opening front. Mini-LAs are visible below the bridge, as is the m-motor. It looks like the top opens upward, and there may be a ramp that folds down in the front as well. I'm pretty excited about this set!

10 pictures plus 3 videos for a total of 13? Or does each video count as a picture, for a total of 10 allowed?

Oh man, that plane is fantastic! If it ends up having a full set of control surfaces, this could end up being one of my favorite sets ever. Love the color scheme and number of functions. Awesome B-model as well. I've never build a b-model, but this could be a first. Love this set! Side note: I can't help but notice the similarities between the wings on my Piper Super Cub moc and the wings on this plane. Makes me wonder if the designers have seen my video.

I'm working on something, but I don't know that it'll be done in time. I'd like to at least have pictures up by the 26th, before the rest of the family comes in for Thanksgiving holiday. I'll probably be editing my video while they are here.
