Heroica RPG- Quest #122: Invasion of the Sheep Snatchers
StickFig replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Not terribly surprising, what with the shouting," Matthias muses to the animals. "Thanks for the advice on how to keep her calm. About the lights - is there any rhyme or reason to which sheep get picked up by the lights?" Attempting to keep Sorsha on a friendly track, Matthias says to her, "So, what would you suggest? Should we get ourselves abducted by the lights, like the sheep and that kid you knew? How would we go about doing that? Disguise ourselves as sheep?" -
Unrest in the Forest - Day 3: Caress of Steel

The Simon/Bruce/???? love triangle is really just ridiculous. Literally the only reason we have for believing those claims is that no one has counter-claimed. Which is also the only reason we have for believing the miller claim. Which might be enough, or we might all be suckers. Another thought: late on Day One, I PMed a few people and said (among other things) that I was suspicious of Bruce. Would that have been enough to make scum want to take me out, if he's one of them? -

OK, maybe I missed something. Stumps can't PM anyone, but we're still allowed to receive PMs, right? So unless I'm just confused, every townie should be PMing every confirmed oak (read:stump) right now. And I can't imagine why anyone would feel personally antagonistic with all the arrogance flying around. Almost reminds me of my last game.... -

It seems to me that there's an easy answer to all this "I can assert that so-and-so is cleared" nonsense: claim to the Oak stumps. You want verified? I'm verified. Doesn't get more verified than me. The other stumps are verified. There's no way to be more verified than them. If there's a town block out there, it sure doesn't seem like they're doing much to communicate with verified oaks. -

I would assume that after I claimed to Berty Birch the miller, that fact was passed to others in PM, who then thought my claiming was scummy, and vig-killed me. But I suppose that Berty could be scum trying to mislead us all, I'm just not inclined to believe that based on the fact that no one has counterclaimed miller yet. -

Which is pretty interesting, since the only person I claimed to was you.... -
Of course. These things happen... It's better when you borrow something from another hero, and that player becomes inactive - then you get to keep the loaned item forever!

Here's a full voting pattern for everyone to peruse. Day 1 Day 2 Not that it helps much since basically everyone voted for Alastair and Catarina. -

Yep, they'll all just claim vanilla though, which will (maybe) narrow things down a bit. What a scummy post: fishing and then two middle fingers to the other trees. "Oh crap, Larry, they're on to us! Better get a little distance!" "Ok, Chester, that should be far enough." All those who have claimed to me via code, I acknowledge your claims. -

Me too! Yeahhhhhhhh baby! I don't even know who I am anymore.... I don't have a whole lot to share, unfortunately. If the scum killed me it was either because of what Sammy Sycamore said, or possibly because Chester Chestnut is a scaridy Maple, afraid that what I said yesterday might catch on. -

Heroica RPG- Quest #122: Invasion of the Sheep Snatchers
StickFig replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Matthias gives Siercon a plaintive look as Sorsha shouts. Facing the girl, he says, "The others have gone to talk to the villagers. Why are you always yelling?" Not particularly waiting for an answer, the gnome turns to the sheep. "Friends Mary and Maud, what happened to Tammy? And what people with pointy objects have been here before?" -
Welcome back, Endgame! Glad to hear you're safe and reasonably well/healthy. But what about the Eternal Reaper? Or the Final final Final final boss?

Like Reese Whitherspoon in Sweet Home Alabama? I've been wondering about Matthias' voice lately; I think the closest one I can think of is Richard Hammond.

Matthias follows the others to Sorsha, hoping Berthadhiell and Whisperer will be able to drag the loud hugging girl away so he and Siercon can question some sheep. -
Unrest in the Forest, Day 2: Fly By Night

(Bold added for emphasis) That's ominous... Ehh, don't read too much into it unless I die tonight.... By my count that makes 12 votes for Catarina Dogwood and we have a lynch; my vote against Chester Chesty is unchanged. See you all in another 6-7 pages of ridiculous. -

No, you are screwed. At some point, that excuse is not going to be enough anymore. Well, I suppose you'll have to lynch me after you get done with Maggie; some of us have trouble keeping up with more than 100 posts per 24 hours. I told a few people last night that Bruce Spruce was at the top of my Maple list... now I suppose I'll have to wait and see, at least one night. Yep, and this was good enough to get my vote, except that Chester happened.... This was the 6th vote against Alastair. Below is the 8th vote against Catarina. So I suppose you just wait until a tree has five or six votes against them, and then pounce on that bandwagon for obvious reasons, because aw, what the heck. Vote: Chester Chestnut (Lego Spy) Correction: His was the 6th vote both times. Also, Nash Ash, you said you were going to vote, not sure if this is good enough (formatting rules and all that). -

"I believe it's more likely that the girl will help to pull information from the villagers than the sheep," Matthias opines, and wincing a little, he adds, "So she should go with you and Lady Purpearl." -

StickFig replied to Walter Kovacs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Of course the night lasted through my entire 3-day weekend, and of course there's seven pages of nonsense waiting for me when I get home after work. Oh well. Based on a quick scan of the approximately one zillion posts, I'm initially surprised by the lack of discussion about the miller claim. The next thing I'd like to ask is what caused Bruce Spruce and Clem Elm to abandon their initial positions Day One (against Berty Birch) and add to votes almost immediately to mine against Alastair Pear? add their* votes -

StickFig replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Grudgingly Matthias admits to himself that the tall Munchkin's ideas are all good. He speaks to the Black Knight in low tones while waiting for the chieftain to release them to their work. "How about this: Master Siercon and I will interview the sheep; you and Lady Purpearl can interview the villagers. Keep your eyes open for a spring-wound time-ticker as well, and when we meet up again I'll what I can do about an incendiary timer." The gnome glances around the party to see what they thought of the plan. -

Matthias shakes his head. It's like I'm not even here with that guy, he thinks. -

Matthias collects his breath (and his dignity), re-settles his hat on his head, and nods respectfully. "We'll ensure your daughter returns safely, Chief Tarlock. I will make it my personal charge." Turning to the rest of the party, Matthias looks towards the door. "Anyone have any bright ideas on where to start? How to prepare?"
