  1. I preordered through Amazon (US).
  2. For as many sets as we got from AoU this year, I sure wasn't impressed with the selection. I only picked up the Quinjet because I didn't collect when the original was released and I got a great deal on it new. I got the smaller sets for the figures. I just hope 2016 eventually gives us a substantial Marvel playset. From the looks of the early information for the first half of the year, that doesn't seem likely - just more large and small vehicles. I don't understand why DC gets awesome Batcaves, Arkham Asylum, etc. when Marvel's biggest playset to date is, what, the too small Avengers Tower? A Daily Bugle with no back side?
  3. I pre-ordered two of the Dalek/Cybermen packs. One can never have enough of them, right? I'm waiting before pre-ordering the pack with the Doctor. If nothing in it winds up being unique from the IDEAS set, there's no reason for me to buy since I don't intend to buy the game right away.
  4. But if it was based on the Mk 1 armor, I'd be all over it!
  5. That would probably rank among the greatest quirky little things LEGO has ever done. I'd buy it at any price!
  6. I'd buy it! I totally can't wait for the first Minifigure encyclopedia either, like the one Star Wars just got updated with the white Boba Fett. If they were able to do one for the entire Super Heroes line, they'd probably be just about able to justify publishing one since there are well over 200 minifigs now. But I'm guessing that the Marvel and DC ones would have to be separate, so we probably wouldn't see those for a few more years. But the Visual Dictionary could be done.
  7. So...how long does everyone think Marvel Superheroes (or DC for that matter) will continue as an "evergreen" theme? Do you see any end to it?
  8. No way would I sell the old one off! I'm actually still wanting to track down previous versions of Hawkeye and Black Widow even though both are inferior to the newer ones. I display all the versions side by side in cabinets on my wall. I love having all the versions of Iron Man next to each other in the case, even though some of the torsos only have slight variations. It can be cool to see how LEGO is evolving in their Minifigure design. I hope this theme will live on for years to come.
  9. This. And I'll take all the other debuts too, even Hyperion.
  10. I like all of these details so far. Don't really care about lack of Hawkeyes, Vision, SW, BW, etc. being reported (I think at least one of the ladies will sneak into a set though - maybe retailer exclusive or one of the surprises he isn't revealing yet. I would rather have characters that haven't been represented before, so an MCU Falcon, Black Panther, Crossbones, Zemo, Spidey makes my day. We've had two Hawkeyes (plus an AA one coming) and two Black Widows; good enough for me. People's expectations are too high sometimes. I think it's unlikely to get a second wave of sets based on a CA movie.
  11. A classic Super Friends subtheme, starting with the Hall of Justice playset. A Gorilla Grodd that's not a big fig; something more like a sandwich board mold would be good. A minifig of any unreleased member of Teen Titans or JLA member ever. A theme based on Smallville and the new Flash series.
  12. Matt Smith has pretty well-defined cheek bones. Doesn't necessarily look old to me in that picture; not that this is necessarily the rendering they'll go for in the set.
  13. Should we be suspicious of sellers on Bricklink who have, say, 50 of a popular minifig like Maria Hill and have no other figures or parts from the set for sale? I see this all the time, and the sellers usually have many transactions and generally very good feedback. I ask because these are the ones generally offering the lowest price on those figures. How do they get them and can we be sure they're 100% legitimate?
  14. Personally not a big fig fan. I truly hope that a Colossus figure would be regular-sized! On the subject of X-Men related figures, my top 5 wishes: 1. Psylocke 2. Cable 3. Bishop 4. Nightcrawler 5. Rogue Would love a Danger Room playset. For non-X-Men wish list: 1. Thanos 2. Adam Warlock 3. Ghost Rider 4. Daredevil 5. Silver Surfer
  15. Mystery Science Theater 3000
  16. The booth also needs a door so he can go inside and change. You can find red doors aplenty on Bricklink.
  17. It's crazy how fast these disappeared considering how expensive they are. But I shouldn't be surprised since I bought them all except for T-Rex Tracker, which was IMO a poor value and had zero movie accuracy as a set. Is it really possible for the Wal-Mart exclusive to have sold out so quickly without being reproduced?
  18. In general, I don't seek out individual parts, but it could be worth doing for the right minifig. In Bricklink you can see how much a particular part has been selling for, so I checked to see if anyone parted out Maria Hill and sold the pieces that way. The ONLY unique piece is her torso with SHIELD printing on the arms. Only one standalone torso had been sold when I checked, but someone paid less than a buck for it. So seeking individual parts obviously worked well for that person. I've only ever put together a Professor Trelawney (HP theme) minifig that way, and it saved me a ton. For Deadpool, I just got a mint one for $20 and messaged the seller on Bricklink to make me a free shipping deal if I agreed to buy two other ones I needed from her. I figure Deadpool is about to go up in price when his movie comes out, and who knows when we'll see another one released. His movie is not only Fox but R-rated.
  19. Yeah, I was specifically referring to a MCU version of Quicksilver. Heck, he could even appear in an X-Men set, but it just won't be the same. I really like the MCU figs the most. I covet the Captain America sans headgear from the Helicarrier, but I refuse to pay $20+ for basically a unique headpiece.
  20. Patience is a virtue indeed. Were I not patient, I would have been one of the hundreds who immediately paid $30 for a Maria Hill minifig. As it stands now, even the $15.99 ones I see listed on Bricklink don't seem like too good a deal to pass up. The thing I tend to do is NOT buy the ones I want the most just to have them. Instant gratification is a killer. It's best to track Bricklink regularly for all your wanted figures and find one seller who has several reasonably priced ones so you can buy those up and save on shipping. I'm still waiting on Quicksilver prices to drop. I know that figure will never come up again in another set, but the set itself is a poor seller, and should be marked down considerably inside a year at TRU. I'm also good with finding things like rarer polybags (any theme) and flipping them so I have the budget to splurge on the occasional superhero minfig. I recently acquired Deadpool because I didn't start collecting the theme until after that set was off shelves (too preoccupied with LOTR at the time I think).
  21. There are just far too many directions TLG could take this. They could go classic Disney feature animated, modern classic feature animated, digital feature animated/Pixar, classic Disney shorts animated, classic Disney live action animated, a mix of everything, CMF vs CMD, heroes or villains, etc. This could go on for 5 series and they still wouldn't make everyone happy, not even close. All I have to say to TLG is "good luck with this one; I'll probably buy whatever you release."
  22. Are you familiar with the plastic used to make Smaug's wings in The Lonely Mountain set? IMO, that stuff is amazing. It's bendable and sturdy and allows for multiple wing positions. They need to perfect this on a small scale to make wings for Falcon, Hawkman and others in the future.
  23. For the record, I'm not a Coulson hater. He's a likable dude. I just think it would be a rather boring minfig compared to lots of other currently unrepresented Marvel characters. Also, it would have been more meaningful if he had stayed dead, but I digress! And Peggy Carter isn't the answer either. Give me someone like Deathlok, Adam Warlock, Ghost Rider...then we'd be in business!
  24. Wait...it is popular opinion that Suicide Squad will have sets based upon it? I wouldn't hold my breath for one second on that. I know they've done sets based upon PG-13 movies before, but this one is really quite dark. And then there's the actual title..."Suicide" Squad...in a children's toy. I'm just not seeing, but I would love it.
  25. Absolutely what I've been thinking. People just want something "official." Unfortunately, there is no way they will create a LEGO that looks anything like Coulson. I'm betting the hair will be completely off. As for the body, it's not like he wears a cool SHIELD outfit like Maria Hill. He'll just be wearing a suit. If he's included, it needs to be a bonus -- like the 5th or 6th figure in a set -- because it will never be my main reason for buying any set.
