And not only that, they've only used it to make one villain fig that didn't require any new molds. Seriously, you have to have at least a Dorothy. And it just isn't complete without Tin Man, Scarecrow and Lion.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
dmarvin replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
Everyone who keeps saying "we need a Vision with an accurate colored gem" or "we need a new Ant Man costume" are seriously overthinking what LEGO is doing. Believe or not, they still want you to buy the excess stock of Quinjets they made. They want you to buy those $20 Ant Man sets. I think it makes total sense to only give us Giant Man and microfig Ant Man in a new set without giving us another standard Ant Man. Heck, you rarely--if ever--see two iterations of the same character in a single set. Asking for three would just be unheard of. -
Not only that but the latest Dimensions set codes that leaked don't look promising for anything Oz-related. Oz Lego took a huge hit today.

75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters Discussion

I won't be willing to pay that but neat for those who are. I think about $249 is the most I'd be willing to spend on anything Ghostbusters-related. -
:( I thought you had good news. No Weeping Angel? No Matt Smith? Sad.

Because they're based on the new and current material only (the one that's the 3rd highest grossing film of all-time), not the old stuff. It was never expected or announced that they would make the sets based on originals; the failure of the awesome Ideas submission to get greenlit assured us of that.

Lego Shop still only has the WalMart exclusive listed as being "sold out." It looks like it expects to ship more of all the others later this month or early October, depending upon the set. That should be well-timed with the home video release of JW. It definitely looks like they outsold expectations though.

Overall, I wish Marvel in particular would have more playsets in its theme (Batman has several great ones in the DC theme). But then again, if this is the best playset to date for Marvel, maybe it's better just to leave well enough alone. I would definitely like to see them attempt something in the $100+ (US) price range because I think it could be good; Marvel needs an equivalent to the Arkham Asylum set. Regarding this set, I saved myself some money and bought the 4 minifigs I needed (all but Spidey) on Bricklink for less than half the set price.

I'll be mad if they reuse the Ledger Joker head. I bought that off Bricklink thinking they'd never make another one (and that I couldn't afford the set it was from).

That second photo is very...risqué

Seriously, just give me River Song. I used to think this was a pipe dream but now we know the lovely Alex Kingston is returning for this year's Christmas episode, so it's suddenly a possibility. The Banshee hair is perfect for my lovely River Song!

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
dmarvin replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
I've seen the airport in one still shot. A little early to assume it's a must, isn't it? Especially that, when one considers the prices of these sets, any attempt at an airport is going to disappoint. -
Maybe with River coming back for this year's Xmas special, they can someday include her in a Dimensions pack!

Future Marvel Superheroes Rumors & Speculation
dmarvin replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Exactly. If Avengers Tower had been twice as elaborate, I would have purchased it. As such, I didn't even need to buy it for the figures because they were repeated in other sets except for Iron Legion, which was cheap enough to Bricklink. I don't even care who is in the set really - I just want a big Marvel set that's to scale with minifigs! -
Future Marvel Superheroes Rumors & Speculation
dmarvin replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I lol'ed at the idea of Lego making a funeral set. And I mean really lol'ed. If they did one, it wouldn't be right not to make a commercial promoting it (with 6-year-old children reenacting the last rites and such). It would almost be like something out of a Saturday Night Live sketch. I would like to speculate about this: someday soon Marvel will get a LEGO playset that is actually substantial. DC has several (Batcave, Arkham Asylum, etc). Marvel's have been lame. The Helicarrier is a little of both but it's more a vehicle than playset and it's also not to scale for minifigs. I doubt based on prices that CA:CW is when this finally happens but perhaps the summer 2016 wave will have something to offer. -
Ultron, I love your set ideas...except...too many big figs. Yuck. Kingpin is fat but he's not like 5x the size of Daredevil. They should just do something like a sandwich board like Azog/Chewbacca for a lot of these characters. Juggernaut I can see as a big fig, but I would still rather have both him and Colossus as regular figs. Haven't seen the LEGO video games, but I'm assuming a bunch of them have shown up rendered as big figs in the games?

It looks like a stock answer that people will get when emailing TLG about Oz sets. But...it's a pretty awesome stock answer. They've put some thought into it and at least appear optimistic about releasing sets someday.
-
Just need my memory jogged but has TLG ever done a second wave of sets for a single movie other than Star Wars movies and their own Lego Movie?
-
I'd rather have a debut like Agent 13 than another Hawkeye (need all the females we can get). But your top are also my top 2 in that order.
-
I'm gonna be as old as the Face of Boe when this set gets revealed.
-
In fact, if the set is anything other than an iconic build (like a '66 Batcave, for instance) minifigs are my only motivation for buying a set. Has it already been established that there's no possibility of a DCCU Aquaman in the BvS sets?

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
dmarvin replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
But let's play devil's advocate and say that you only relied on the front page for all your Marvel 2016 rumors and didn't read the thread. Would you have had any cause to think minifigs would be sold without legs in the first place? No. So either buck up and join the "and Discussion" portion of this Rumors thread or just check the front page. Because, honestly, the thread is being as convoluted with posts from malcontents as it is fanboy gushing. -
DC Super Heroes (& LEGO Batman Movie) General Discussion
dmarvin replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Those prices are insane!!! You lucked out, man. I haven't been to any Wal-Marts in over a week, but all the ones I've been to were really getting low stock on all Lego sets. I noticed discounts on many sets, including DC Super Heroes, but nothing that insanely low. Darkseid Invasion for the price of one of those small introductory sets? Wow...
