I've got close ups of the characters uploaded onto PB now. Crew 1 Crew 2 I was going to start a separate thread about my french vessel, but i'll wait till the competition is over. P

I was referring to the war of 1812. All the ship to ship combat during the war was pretty much smaller vessels (meaning frigate sized and smaller). Also there were american privateers that raided british merchant vessels. Maybe even a little before that war when the US was fighting the barbary pirates. Now that would be pretty cool. Having colonist or imperials versus barbary pirates *y* Barbary Pirates could have the scimitar swords and have xebec ships sorry about saying english instead of british. i always thought they were synonyms. :-$ About the american revolutionary theme, i also think it'd be mostly land sets and not too many sea faring sets. P

I would prefer the BS thumb only because the BS thumb is bigger X-D Are you switching over to using only BS? P

How about colonists vs. the imperials? Similar to the U.S. versus the English like Hairy Rueben said, but TLG would rarely make their own theme that portray something based on real history. So it's colonist vs. imperials X-D The colonists have more non-military sets. Like small merchant vessels and fishing boats. While the imperials get the bigger ships and forts >:-) The imperials get a large gray stone fort while the colonists might get a small log outpost tower. P

OH NO! *sing* That sux. Hmm. i wonder what type of molding would be suitable and afforadable 8-| P

Well here's a couple of pics on flickr of Mr. Mhuffman's They're obviously used for gaming from the other pics i've seen. None of these ships seem to be in our index yet. 8-| But i could be wrong X-D It would also appear Mr. Mhuffman has created his own website; it's called brickbuildr.com this site appears to mainly be for finding lego photos more easily on flickr. P Edit: Sent a message to Mr. Mhuffman to inquire if he's heard of us X-D

Well i don't care to keep the competition guessing so i put in my entry today X-D I've got more pics to upload of the ship, but i've got the "story pics" uploaded. It was real tempting to use SirNadroj's face, but it's his signature face and it fits in so well with his entry. So i didn't use it X-D P

Update!!!! That's why i double posted X-D This is now the only missing sail now *y* Sorry Mr. Tiber, 8-| I couldn't wait X-D Thank dukeschunke next time you see him. They're his sails that i used ;-) BTW: If anyone has a better quality of a sail than any of the ones shown, feel free to post them on here *y* I know some of the sails i scanned are very used |-/ P

I am very intent on attending brickworld also. I was hoping to bring my constitution, but i don't think it'll get done in time 8-| Way too busy with school and work |-/ Definitely will bring it the year after though *y* From what i've computed for the gun port sizes, they're between 3-4 studs square. But closer to 3 studs square 8-| The gunport covers on the constitution have a top door that swings up and a bottom door that swings down. Each being half the square. Like the thumb-link shown below: And to keep the doors like that, it needs to be an even stud length square. So yes, if i were to downsize the gunports, it'd bring down the apocolypse on my plan :'-( Unless of course someone knows a way to have gunport cover doors 3x1.5 studs X-D BTW: There hasn't been any progress of the constitution since september cause i've made my entry for the halloween contest ;-) P

Yippie! Another Ship to add to the Index of MOC Ships I like that you've used small moc cannons instead of the regular cannons on a small ship *y* These cannons are really similar to other cannons in the Cannon Index. since it's a little different i added it. X-D The only thing i can think of to improve is to have more space between gun ports (or less gun ports) Other than that, Good work :-) P

The language is called gibberish ;-) I used some steps from evil willy for previous sails too with cheap wal-mart fabric X-D This ship has been added to the Index of MOC Ships too *y* Keep up the great work Cap'n *y* P

Mine's set in the middle of the ocean, So it's now set in the middle of the carribean :-D I think it looks really kewl! (suppose it doesn't matter to say w/o any pics 8-| ) Oh well X-D definitely enter. You could even use a star wars torso like SirNadroj. ;-) P

:-D me too, unless i dont have enough bricks to start at the bottom X-D i just have a very good portion of the bricks needed to start at the gun deck and eventually build down. You couldn't be more right about all the different reconstructions the Constitution has under gone. My goal is to try to replicate the 1812 version. but whatever info about the 1812 version, i try to go by what the ship's like today. So my model will be a hybrid X-D Thanx for the info on the books. I have been getting the book i use from interlibrary loans I'll do the same right away for the other books you have suggested to see if they're what i'm looking for, or until i'm able to afford to buy them (which is usually the case) :-) Hey paladin, do you show your mocs in brickworld in chicago? P

Just putting in my 2 cents X-D How bout getting these: 6276-Eldorado Fortress 6263-Imperial Outpost 6274-Caribbean Clipper 6268-Renegade Runner 6244-Armada Sentry You'd get: one nicely dressed Captain Roger from EF one red admiral (imperial outpost) and one blue admiral (EF) One ship for imperials and one for pirates One Armada Dude :-) P

IS, Are we aloud ( :-D ) to use black, non-lego string for rigging, but it looks pretty close to lego string? I'm now almost done with my creation and i realized the if i can't use this string i'm going to have to do some major reconstruction :'-( Or try to find lots of lego string laying around some where. It's not a big deal either way. Just let me know. X-D P
