Diorama sets are a must! There's so many potential great scenes they can work with. Although I stand by that Eowyn and Galadriel should come first before any more Arwen figures considering how underrepresented both characters are in this theme. I disagree on Lothlorien. Its not that iconic visually and lacks any real distinguishing features to justify such a large price tag. A diorama of the "Mirror of Galadriel" scene would be a better way to represent that location at a more affordable price range. Minas Tirith, Helms Deep, Edoras and Orthanc are the only locations that should be at the scale of Rivendell and Barad-Dur.

Ezra's eyes will take some time getting used too but Thrawn is a solid upgrade over the Rebels figure. Dual molded legs are a welcome addition and its nice to have the correct rank insignia this time. Hope to see Enoch and Ahsoka soon. -
Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I don't think Marvel villains are dying out. Over the past few years we've still seen Green Goblin, Red Skull, Doc Ock, Ronan, Gorr, Venom, Carnage, Arnim Zola, Lizard, Electro, Rhino, Obadiah Stane, Whiplash, Mysterio, Ebony Maw, Attuma, Wenwu, Sinister Strange, Alexander Pierce and Ultron MK1 all appear in sets. A bigger problem I'm finding is Lego playing it too safe and giving us the bare minimum of characters regardless of whether they're good or bad. This year's Spider-Man and Avengers selection feels stale because they offer little beyond repeats of the same characters. To be fair the lack of villains isn't the X-Men's only problem. This line has been going for 12 years now and it has still barely expanded upon the core team roster. Even with the X-Mansion coming its still leaving out important heroes from the show like Nightcrawler and Jubilee. -

If we get any sets for the show it will likely be in the January wave. Its close to the show's release date and is usually that time of the year Lego normally pushes out most of its Spider-Man products anyway. They will probably reduce the number of Amazing Friends and comic Spider-Man sets next wave (or replace them entirely) if they do cover the show. -

Its not just the Advent Calendar. Comic themed Spider-Man sets in general have been stale for a while now. Its just the same recycled characters in every set and throwaway builds that bring nothing new to the table. It really needs a massive shake up. -

I think its not so much expecting DC to enter a new golden age but rather recognizing the direction they take with Superman is going to make or break DC going forward. The superhero genre is on the decline and DC in particular has been having a steady stream of failures for a while now. Superman needs to focus on being a good movie that can earn some public goodwill back and prove there is still relevancy left in the brand. If they screw it up its over. No one is going to stick around for a shared universe if they can't get this one film right nor will anybody have the patience to go through yet another reboot after this one. -

At this stage I don't care if they go all in with movie sets. Anything that can help revitalize this theme is better than the pitiful state it's currently in. -

I do hope Lego are able to catch up on the remaining S1 characters while they can though. They should definitely include Zemo and Mobius in the next wave. Both characters are long overdue after being skipped over in the last two CMF series. I also like Classic_Spaceman's idea of including Daredevil's yellow/red suit to get around any rating issues involving his own show. -

Its possible. I remember leakers missed a few characters from the Avengers Tower that we didn't find out about until official images were released. But I'm fairly confident in this case that 10 is all we're getting. On the bright side the January wave is only two months away from the X-Mansion's release date. If there are additional X-Men sets already planned there then the low minifigure count in the mansion won't really matter that much. -

That reminds me we should be due for another Marvel CMF series next year if they stick with the 2 year gap between waves. It would be a great way to release Nightcrawler, Jubilee and Classic Storm as they would benefit the most out of the CMF budget. Maybe they can throw Sinister in there too. At this stage I'm expecting the mansion to remain a stand alone model. I do love the idea of getting small modular expansions that can combine to build a larger complex. -

Jean and Gambit were expected but glad we have confirmation both characters are finally on the way. Morph is a nice inclusion too but I would've preferred getting Jubilee instead to complete the original animated team. Hopefully Magneto won't be a repeat from the X-Jet and they go with the red costume this time. Now comes the long wait for the January set list to find out if there are anymore X-Men sets on the horizon. -
Another home run for the LOTR theme! Everything about the tower looks incredible! Its great to finally have an official Sauron minifigure and I wasn't expecting to see Gothmog included either. The new orcs are also a massive improvement over the original ones with the new molds and increased level of printing.

I think the key is to keep the theme adult oriented. Focus more on affordable display pieces such as dioramas and buildable creatures rather than simplified builds targeted towards kids.

Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

If the mansion is going to complete the original 90s animated team then I can't really see Storm and Rogue being excluded from that. The CMF series will be long discontinued by that point while the X-Jet would be almost a year old and potentially on its way to retirement. Why lock those characters behind products that may no longer be available during the X-Mansion's production run? Even if we got more sets with Storm and Rogue next year chances are they're going to be based on their new costumes instead of the 90s ones. -

Loving the look of Caped Crusader. I'd love to get those versions of Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Clayface in minifigure form. Hopefully we get something out of it even if its just another Batmobile. -

Mr. Sinister would be my pick for the final figure. It would be a shame not to reuse Ronan's cape while its in production when it works so perfectly for the character. Sabretooth and Mystique would be great too but I think they would be better suited for a small $10 Wolverine set in the January wave. Sort of like that Spider-Man/Doc Ock Motorcycle Chase that came out earlier this year. Either way we need to start getting more villains besides just having Magneto recycled all the time. -
As much as I'd like an Eowyn/Witch-King set, I wouldn't want to see those characters locked behind a limited run GWP. My preference would be to stick with generic figures for the GWP here and save those characters for a proper set down the road.

I wasn't expecting the mansion to be a modular building in the first place so that doesn't come as a surprise. Always made more sense for it to be a stand alone model. I'm more interested in knowing whether the final product is going to be fully enclosed like the Home Alone house or open back like Arkham Asylum and Joker Manor. I also wish we would get confirmation already on who the 10 minifigures are. The character line up for the UCS Sail Barge has been revealed so the mansion shouldn't be far behind. -

The new Star Destroyer looks fine but hardly worth the upgrade over the 2014 release, especially at the price they're asking. The interior is also a massive downgrade in detail compared to the First Order Star Destroyer which is a shame. The initial rumor about the set being a Death Star was definitely more exciting than what we ended up with. -

I'd love an Oscorp D2C but I don't think it will happen next year. At this point I'm leaning more towards Marvel getting a Helicarrier remake for Age of Ultron's 10th anniversary and DC getting the Daily Planet for the new Superman film. I suspect the Spider-Man sets in the January wave will probably lean heavily into the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man cartoon that's due to air in November. A regular Sentinel, Master Mold and a $10 Wolverine vs X-Villain set would be my ideal line up. Realistically though the most I'm expecting is one X-Men set at best. Next year is bound to get pretty crowded with the MCU content picking up again. -

That's a tough one as it doesn't seem right to exclude Robin from either film, but I'd probably lean more towards the villains in both cases just because their costumes are more visually interesting. Although a limit of only three minifigures does showcase that the Batmobiles alone won't be enough to cover everyone in these films. Forever's Batwing and Mr. Freeze's Icemobile would be a good way to get around that. Another question is if we did get Poison Ivy which costume would everyone prefer? The lime green bodysuit would be much more unique to the film and different from all the other Ivy minifigures we currently have but a big distinguishing part of that look are the cone buns in her hair. If Lego aren't willing to create a specialized new hair mold for her it could result in a pretty boring figure otherwise, especially if they pass on giving her leg printing. Alternatively there's the flower ball costume which is just the classic comic look most of her existing figures are already based upon, but that one could have the potential to be the most detailed Ivy figure since the Lego Batman Movie. -

The Batpod feels overdue at this point. I'd love to see a remake of the Bat as well since the last set suffered from early 2000s TIE Fighter syndrome with all the random blue pieces they were using on it. I second this. It would also be nice to have TDK Joker in an affordable set for a change. I can't believe its been roughly 5 years since we last gotten both those characters. They used to appear so frequently throughout the theme. Hopefully both characters will appear if they do anymore BTAS sets. I'd like to see the live action versions as well if we ever get the Schumacher Batmobiles. -

The Milano is fantastic! Could just be the box art but it looks even bigger than what the Benatar was. I don't normally buy the buildable characters but that Dancing Groot is too good to pass up. Surtur turned out pretty good as well. Glad we're getting two Fire Demons instead of one and I like the decision of using the skeleton pieces for them. I'd love to see them follow this up with a similar set for the Destroyer from the first film. Hopefully a similarly scaled Sentinel is on the horizon for next year as well. The Avengers sets are an easy pass for me. The AOU diorama isn't bad but none of the sets are really bringing anything new to the table. Not a fan of the 4+ helmets on the Iron Legion figures either. I would have preferred the flip up visors like the previous figures had. Thor and Loki now have rubber capes like the ones Doctor Strange and BTAS Batman are using. I agree the LaT hairpiece was perfect but I get that it probably isn't compatible with the new capes. -

I seem to recall it having something to do with either Lego or Disney not wanting Mary Jane and Michelle Jones appearing in merchandise at the same time.
