  1. Thanks. Shame the Star Wars ones won't be around for the mid year sales again.
  2. Any word on when the new Star Wars and Superheroes sets are going to hit retail?
  3. There's a comparrison between the two at the end of this video if you're interested: While the two sets do look similar I think the added bulk on the new one makes it look a lot nicer. Just a shame about the grey wedges showing up on either side of the cockpit. Would look much better if those wedge plates were in yellow.
  4. The original Sith Infiltrator is very blocky by today's standards but I think it was a solid set for the time period it came out in. The second attempt at the Infiltrator from 2007 was a lot worse. It looked like a bunch of slope pieces just randomly thrown together. No effort thrown into the design at all.
  5. I'd like to see some UCS sets from the Prequel Trilogy. TPM in particular had some very memoriable ships and vehicles to pick from - the Naboo Fighter, Droid Control Ship, Trade Federation Landing Craft, AAT, MTT, Vulture Droid, Queen Amidala's Starship, the podracers... even the Sith Infiltrator despite its limited screentime. Some UCS playsets would be nice too. Who doesn't want a Theed Palace, Geonosian Arena or Jedi Temple?
  6. I'm pretty sure it is a Hoth Echo Base and not a TFA set. Why else would we be getting a redesigned Hoth Rebel Trooper in the Advent Calender? Also UCS sets rarely ever have pictures leaked since they're sold directly from Lego. Usually the first pictures are always accompanied by an official press release on all the major Lego sites.
  7. For anyone planning on updating Endor Luke and Captain Panaka, here's a quick photoshop of how they'll look: Here's a couple I found of Luke, Biggs Darklighter, Wedge Antilles, Jek Porkins and Zev Senesca (all credit to Snowspeeder Pilot here)
  8. I still think its an ESB playset. It explains why we're getting a redesigned Hoth Rebel in the Advent Calender. Last time we got the redesigned Scout Trooper in an Advent Calender it showed up in the Ewok Village that same year.
  9. Lego only dropped the ball last year. Over the past five years they've been much better at including female characters in the line: 2015: Endor Leia, Asajj Ventress and Sabine (x2) - with potentially Rey, Captain Phasma, Maz Kanada, TFA Leia and Hoth Leia still to come 2014: Ahsoka Tano and Hera Syndulla 2013: Ewok Village Leia, Slave Leia, Ahsoka Tano, Geonosis Padme, Stass Allie and Jedi Consular 2012: Ceremony Leia, Boussh Leia, Queen Amidala, TCW Padme, Oola, Barriss Offee and Satele Shan 2011: Classic Leia, Hoth Leia, Asajj Ventress, Aurra Sing, Tatooine Padme, Sugi, Shaak Ti and Luminara Unduli Diversity in the line isn't really an issue. Its just certain characters getting constantly neglected thats disapointing as a fan. It took 12 years to get a new Padme minifigure after her first release. She did well for a while getting 4 variants over a 3 year period, but now she's back to being an afterthought despite a heavy focus on TPM in this year's line up. There's no reason why she couldn't have been included in any one of the Episode 1 sets. Same can be said for Beru and Shmi in the Sandcrawler and Infiltrator.
  10. Nice to finally get confirmation on the names. Most of the sets are more or less what we were expecting. A bit of speculation on what characters we might get:
  11. They need more exposure. Minas Tirith was once sitting around 4000 for quite some time. It needed the Staff Picks on the frontpage as well as other websites promoting it to help give the boost it required to reach the 10,000 mark.
  12. Anyone know if the Sandcrawler is coming to stores for the mid year sales?
  13. Here's another shot of the Infiltrator along with a close up of Qui-Gon and Darth Maul courtesy of just2good. I'm not sure I really like the new Darth Maul face. While the thicker lines are nice, the smile seems a bit out of character and the tattoos look inaccurate compared to previous minifigures.
  14. Hopefully we'll get a mix of Civil War and Avengers Assemble sets. One thing I love about sets based on the cartoons is that its a great way to get all new characters and comic costumes we wouldn't normally have otherwise.
  15. While last year was pretty underwelming, I do think the line has made drastic improvement with the inclusion of female characters over the past 5 years. This year in particular is shaping up to be pretty impressive - we already have Endor Leia, Ventress and 2 Sabine figures. There's a potential Hoth Leia on the way in the USC Echo Base. And there are at least four female characters that can potentially show up in TFA sets including a third Princess Leia variant. Its just a shame Padme is often the one getting the short end.
  16. One thing I do find disapointing about all these Episode 1 sets is that none of them include Padme. They could have easily thrown in a Theed Battle version in the Naboo Fighter and Flash Speeder, or updated the Tatooine outfit for the Infiltrator.
  17. The new Sith Infiltrator actually looks quite good. The stacked slopes look much tidier here than they did in the preliminary pic and the colours are much more consistant. Not too sure about the Sith Speeder though - the colours seem a bit random and the build itself seems very blocky, although at least this design should be much more stable than the last two attempts. Glad we're finally getting Qui-Gon with his Tatooine poncho but its a shame the astromech has been removed from the final set. Hopefully Watto will be made of plastic instead of rubber this time. They upgraded Plo Koon's head to be more durable so I have my fingers crossed the same might apply to Watto.
  18. I find him to be one of the more annoying characters in the MCU. Never understood the appeal of the character. I'm glad we're getting a new Iron Man variant over Coulson.
  19. Marvel is trying to bury the X-Men and Fantastic Four. Its very unlikely either will be getting any sets. Here's the latest example from just the past week: http://au.ign.com/articles/2015/05/27/marvel-halts-production-of-fantastic-four-and-x-men-collectibles Australia didn't even get the last X-Men set. For whatever reason it got held back from being released at retail, and the only way to buy it via online. Definitely up for some more villains too. Unfortunately aside from the Extremis henchwoman in Iron Man 3, Nebula is the only real female villain in the movies. Maybe if we're lucky Enchantress might show up in Thor: Ragnorok or we might get a couple comic-based ones in some Avengers Assemble sets. Just one more reason to be upset by the lack of X-Men since they have the biggest selection of female baddies.
  20. Anyone else hoping for Agent 13 in next year's Civil War sets? The line could use some more female heroes.
  21. Definitely flesh. Yellow was fine back in the day when minifigures had basic prints and a limited colour pallette, but it doesn't look as good today with the ammount of detail minifigures are getting.
  22. Looks awesome. Very distinctive from the other Iron Man minifigures. The arm printing in particular looks very detailed. Also nice to have that Chima armour piece in dark red. I can think of one Star Wars character in particular whom that would be very useful for.
  23. Same here. She doesn't need the helmet - just being able to own my favourite Middle Earth heroine as an official minifigure is enough to make me happy. Surely Sauron and an Eowyn/Witch-King teampack isn't too much to ask for from this line? I'd imagine they'd both sell a lot faster than anything else related to Middle Earth.
  24. Shame Minas Tirith got declined. Guess this leaves Dimensions as our last chance to get something new out of this theme.
  25. The last wave of Hobbit sets were only sold at Toyworld, Toys R Us and Myer. Unless one of those has some leftover stock, you'd be better off just buying them online.
