Great news about the two Thor sets. Looking forward to Hela and Gladiator Hulk in particular.

The Detroit Steel mech actually looks pretty cool. I prefer this version over the big fig from the video game. Plus the size and colours will also make it easy to convert into a better Sentinel. Not really that keen on the minifigures though. The new Iron Man doesn't look that great compared to previous versions with the older helmet and I can't stand Coulson as a character. The jet set looks pretty run of the mill. Not bad but not that interesting either. The new arm technique on Ms Marvel is pretty cool but I've never cared for the Kamala Khan version of the character and the rest of the figures aren't anything special.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

I kind of disagree there as even the minifigures feel like a complete afterthought this wave. Half the sets don't include any new minifigures at all. From both a set and a minifigure standpoint this wave is easily one of the weakest offerings in years. -
My guess is they're just not selling well. Australian retailers are refusing to stock any Rebel sets outside of the store exclusives while the TIE Advanced/A-Wing set is already on its way to being retired despite only being available for a mere 5 months.

The Phantom looks awesome! Love the new Thrawn minifigure and its great to see Kanan comes with a molded visor instead of just one printed on his face. I'm disapointed none of the minifigures have been updated for Duel on Naboo. Qui-Gon is perfect as is but Maul really needs a better face while Obi-Wan is 18 years overdue for a proper hairpiece. Definitely a missed opportunity. The set itself looks like a bit unfinished but it should provide a solid parts pack to customize a better one. Yoda's Interceptor looks better in the new shot although doesn't quite seem to be as good value for money as the previous Jedi Interceptors. The lack of new characters outside of Rebels/Rogue One is also a massive disapointment this wave.

I don't mind the Deathtroopers are less detailed than the ones in Krennic's Shuttle. It makes more sense to army build the standard infantry ones over the specialists. I'm more disapointed the Stormtroopers still use the plain black hips. They look outdated and not up to the same standard compared to the Force Awakens/Rogue One troopers. The Y-Wing turned out better than I was expecting. Love the more accurate cockpit printing and greebling detail. Admiral Raddus being included is a pleasant surprise too. The Battle of Scarif is fairly underwelming but should be easy to moc up. Would have preferred an actual bunker included like the Battle of Endor set rather than just a door.

Count me among those disapointed they didn't change Maul's facial expression. That smile is so goofy and doesn't fit TPM Darth Maul at all!

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

I quite like the Clayface set. The only thing I think could have been better are the undersized legs. Still its great to finally have the character even if its brick built form. Not really keen on the Scarecrow set. The minifigure is pretty ugly and the vehicle is underwelming compared to the City version of the Pizza Truck thats also coming out next year. The best part is the modular gate that can be attached to the other sets. -

Catwoman looks pretty cool. Again I would have preferred a more traditional version like the other characters but its still a nice figure. Not sure why all the female minifigures have been given random spots on their faces though. -

The Scuttler looks awesome. Very different to what we usually get with the Batman sets. Poison Ivy looks fantastic! Love her new costume and the hairpiece is perfect! Glad they kept the printed leaves in there. Still prefer the face from the previous version but that will be easy to upgrade. Don't really care for the other figures though. The previous Jokers were better and I would've preferred a more traditional Commisioner Gordan. -
What colours are the Weequay's costume? I'm curious whether its an update of the Skiff Guard we got in the Sailbarge or an all new Skiff Master.
-
ROTJ is more likely. Brickset has the set tagged as Episode VI and its already rumoured to come with Lando, a Rebel Pilot and Technician. As much as I'd love a Yavin IV set I'd rather see Lego release the entire temple instead of just the hanger.
-
Toys R Us always gets a large exclusive set each year, including an AT-AT back in 2010. Its definitely possible they could be selling an AT-ACT next year but we're not likely to find out anytime soon. Details about the Toys R Us exclusive usually don't come out until much later after the initial Summer wave rumours hit.
-
Main characters should never be rare. I think its great that Vader, Maul and Qui-Gon will be easy to obtain in affordable sets next year. Just wish the same could happen for Leia and Padme.

Sometimes it comes down to an issue of display space. With so much new Star Wars material coming out I sometimes have to prioritize which sets I'm going to buy which means just focusing on the memoriable ships/vehicles over the minor ones. But minor background characters can still be useful for supplementing some of the other sets I already own, such as Bobbajo in the Jakku Marketplace set that came out a few months ago. I don't have a problem with obscure ships being made though. Its always great to see so many parts of the Star Wars universe recreated in Lego no matter how big or small they may be. Lets be honest here - how many other Lego sets have also appeared for less than a minute in the movies? You've got the A-Wing, B-Wing, TIE Bomber, TIE Interceptor, Sith Infiltrator, Flash Speeder, Cloud Car, Imperial Landing Craft, T-16 Skyhopper and 90% of the ships/vehicles that appeared in Revenge of the Sith. As long as the sets are well made and look good does it really matter how much screentime they had?
-
In the early years we really only got the essential ships/vehicles while the character selection was severely lacking. The prequels are better covered today but its taken a decade of new sets to get there and The Clone Wars TV series helped played a big part in filling out a lot of those gaps. Still there's a lot left unexplored in terms of both sets and minifigures. I don't think any of the individual prequel films have been quite as well represented as TFA is today. I think Zuvio is probably the most likely out of Jakku's locals to appear since he's pretty similar to Embo and wouldn't require any new parts. I can see Sarco Plank appearing too if Lego went with a printed face under a red Jedi hood. I'm still hoping for Bobbajo though.
-
Not too excited for the Quadjumper but I'd be interested in seeing what characters would be included. Would love to have a Bobbajo minifigure. Been wanting the Guavian Death Gang/Rathtars for a while though so I'm glad to see thats potentially coming. The Imperial Hovertank is most definitely a Rebels set considering we only just got the Rogue One version. I'd be happy if its a bigger version of the Imperial Troop Transport we got in the Rebels Stormtrooper battlepack. Another Zeb would be more than welcome too but I also hope to see a few new characters as well. One thing thats always disapointed me about the Rebels sets is how lackluster the character variety is compared to what we got in The Clone Wars. Would be great to get a few new faces in there like Seventh Sister, Leia, Hondo, Lando, Cham Syndulla etc. Darth Vader's Transformation all depends on the build here. Not at the top of my list but looking forward to seeing how it turns out. I'm disapointed to see more slots are still being wasted on that Freemaker crap. That and the Yoda Chronicles stuff are always clogging the shelves because barely anyone buys them. The only redeeming aspect to seeing more is if they can deliver long overdue characters like Zuckuss, 4-LOM, Evazan or Ponda Baba but otherwise it just feels like a waste of a set.

Not really. We had three retailer exclusives this year - Kanan's Speeder Bike, Homing Spider Droid and Rebel Combat Frigate. The year before we actually had five - Hailfire Droid, Battle Droid Carrier, Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter, Ezra's Speederbike and the Sith Infiltrator.

The Rebel Hanger is currently tagged as Episode VI (6 for ROTJ) on Brickset. Not sure if its been changed or someone misread but its not ANH. 75166 and 75167 are definitely battlepacks since their set numbers follow directly after the Rebel and Imperial Battlepacks. The last six sets (75526-75532) should be the buildable figures since those ones come directly after Baze, Chirrut and the Shoretrooper. That should leave the remaining sets as: Advent Calender, Second UCS and 3 Retailer Exclusives 75175 75176 75177 75178 75179: Rebel Hanger (Retailer Exclusive) Summer Wave 75180 75182 75183 75184 75185 Episode 8 75186 75187 75188 75189 75190 75191 75192

I prefer sets from the movies since there's still so much I'd like to add to my collection, namely: - Queen Amidala's Royal Starship - Theed Palace - Gian Speeder - New Podracers - Updated Bounty Hunter Pursuit - Updated Jedi Starfighter - Updated Jango Fett Slave I - Geonosian Arena - Jedi Temple - Invisible Hand - Senate Duel - Lars Homestead - Yavin IV Rebel Base - Updated Yoda's Hut - Updated TIE Bomber and Interceptor - Updated Cloud City and Cloud Car - Rathtar Chase - Maz's Cantina - D'Qar Resistance Base - Starkiller Base I still enjoy sets from Rebels and TCW although at this stage I'm probably more focused on the missing characters from the shows over the ships/vehicles/locations.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

He doesn't need leg printing. If anything it would ruin the look of his suit by making it too busy and overdetailed. Not every minifigure needs to be covered from head to toe. Besides its not like Lego was being lazy - they still printed the hip joint of the legs so it was more of a design decision than a cost cutting one. -

Two-Face looks pretty bad up close. I wasn't too happy with the orange/purple version that came with the first wave of sets and was hoping the new one would be a good replacement, but I guess I'm going to have to wait a while longer. I don't really like Poison Ivy's new face either. I'm guessing the shape of the eyelashes are supposed to be influenced by Uma Thurman's mask in Batman & Robin but it only gives the face print that anime look that the Clone Wars minifigures had. Her hairpiece looks fantastic up close though! Wish we could see the other side of it because I'm curious whether this one also has printed leaves in it like her DC Superheroes and Minidoll hairpieces do. The videos make it looks like she does but would be nice to get some confirmation. Bruce Wayne, Alfred, Penguin and Riddler all look fantastic though! Can't wait to add those characters to my collection. -
The Republic Gunship, AT-TE, Naboo Fighter, Queen Amidala's Royal Starship, Jedi Starfighter, AAT, MTT and Podracers are all iconic enough - at least on the level that the Sailbarge, Snowspeeder, Sandcrawler, Tantive IV, Imperial Shuttle and Slave I are. Certainly more the A-Wing or B-Wing are thats for sure.
-
I think its less likely to happen now with all the attention being focused on the new movies, but I still wouldn't rule it out. I'd be okay with it coming in light grey or pearl silver. At this stage I'd just be happy to see the ship made.

Yeah I think they did a great job with the interior. What really stands out to me is just how different and fresh this Arkham Asylum is from the last version. It doesn't feel like a remake at all. Its great for me as an owner of the previous set as the new one is going to work well as a companion piece - either as another building in the Arkham facility or a stand-in for Blackgate Prison.
