Hands down the best Lambda shuttle out there to date. You mentioned instructions (eventually)? I'll be first in line to purchase. This WILL be displayed on my shelf - fantastic work!

Damn. You have achieved what others could not - that is, the best looking cockpit design to date in my opinion. I have lost count of how many reference images I studied in an attempt to find a way to build that very tricky nose design in LEGO. Meanwhile, I am losing hope that TLG will release a fresh UCS version any time soon - so I will patiently await your build instructions! Great work, this looks amazing! Thanks for posting, can't wait for more images.

LOL! *returns to the table dripping with tomato juice, wilted lettuce* @Max_Lego I unironically loved that reply. But Max! Imagine all the HYPE on social media!! ;o) Ugh, I just threw up a little. -
LEGO Star Wars Media Discussion - Spoiler Warning!

Indeed! So, I'll say it.... Remake 4, 5 & 6?? *dodges rotten vegetables* Now that we've seen what Lucasfilm is capable of when putting talented people in place...or leave it alone? I'm torn now! It could be so good if done properly.... • Get Anthony Daniels and Frank Oz as acting coaches for their protégés • Make the Ewoks of 6 more formidable - like Wookies - and have a plausible battle on Endor, making ROTJ a better film • Modern lightsaber duels • A seamless CG Yoda • Streamline the dialogue here and there What else? Whaddaya got to lose, Disney? You pretty much ruined everything else. Take your shot for the Ultimate Redemption Arc. -
LEGO Star Wars Media Discussion - Spoiler Warning!

Glad to see this thread. Farewell to the best thing that happened to Star Wars since LEGO - so long Andor series, we hardly knew ye. For my part I'm in the camp that's sorely disappointed with most of the Disney Star Wars output - but have retained just enough faith and interest to give Andor plenty of attention. It's not a series you should watch if tired, as the [brilliant] dialogue is so crucial to understanding all the story arcs. Despite some pacing issues here and there, I stayed with it from the very beginning and I have been rewarded with a production that was expertly crafted with care, precision and a high degree of competence. How refreshing. Across the fanbase, Star Wars is clearly regarded a bit differently depending on perspectives, tastes, etc...right? I keep Star Wars the way I wish, and I'll add this series to my own 'head canon' and just discard the rest of it. In the interest of brevity, some random thoughts: • I was entertained by Krennic's character a lot more after his Andor appearances • Can't get enough of K2SO • I like that the writing team tried some very new approaches - and succeeded. The domestic scenes with Syril, Eedy and Dedra come to mind • I so very much appreciate that Luthen and Kleya got a backstory. From the beginning I was intrigued by Kleya's surgical, calculating strategy. Such a great payoff that we got to see where that came from! • Who would have thought Genevieve O'Reilly's Mon Mothma would prove such a powerhouse character? She steals every scene. • ...and so does Partagaz - damn! The CAST!!! • Luthen and Dedra's face off in the gallery was intense and gripping, and Kleya's dutiful action thereafter was heartbreaking - scenes like this were moving...in a Star Wars show! Anyway, I could go on for pages. For this series alone, Disney+ is allowed a few more months of my sub (until the BluRay drops, that is) $ .02 -
Definitely. Orange and yellow - and lots of it.

What a great looking set and a nice surprise - the columns are perfect! I will own at least two copies...and patiently wait for the inevitable lighting kit, of course.

Republic Low Altitude Support Craft (75401 Alternative)
lowlead replied to codyaner's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Oh, very cool! Both the sketch by Jay B. and your brick version look great. It's a fresh design that fits very well in the SW universe in my opinion. The forward wings and the folding aft wings appear to serve as aerodynamic surfaces as well as protection for the drop troopers as they're deployed into a firefight. Also, since you created a pretty close version of JB's drawing within the confines of an alternate build is certainly commendable. Thanks for posting this - looks great! -
Whoa! I haven't felt a presence like this since.... So who's next - Brian Tobin? Cello Colin maybe? Great to see you're back in the saddle - your A-wing is fantastic! The official UCS version looks too chunky and is disappointing to me. It's the only UCS set I ever gave an immediate pass. The top and underside 'texture' achieved with the various plates and bows is a great effect. Great detail at the engine thrusters - especially in between the main thrusters. I like the chrome elbows as well. It's the overall slimmer wedge shape of this version that makes this model far superior to LEGO's UCS - nicely done! And way to make a re-entry, thanks for posting this.

^^ HA! Help me Andor S2, you're my only hope. -
Being a 'vehicle-centric' LEGO SW enthusiast makes me 100% certain that kid-me would be going nuts over the more recent sets. The build techniques and new elements make even the non-UCS sets look great. Case in point - 7144 vs 75312 or 7166 vs 75094. Had I been a kid when first seeing 10212, 75313 or 75252 I probably would have lost my sh*t. Absolute brain explosion. I would have made my parents a pair of basket cases from all the begging and pleading.

8/10 Great looking set and I'll eventually buy a copy or two; but it's not something I'll stay up late for, continuously refreshing a jammed up LEGO Shop page. I'm reserving that behavior for a new UCS Lambda Shuttle!

Haven't opened it yet, but I'll check back in with some thoughts after I do. The price is certainly strike 1 - but if I had a specific LEGO budget limit, I would be way under it lately. *After building...* I don't think it's a stretch to say that we have the best designed skiff and Sarlacc to date in 75396; but after building this it's clear to me that the piece count of the Sarlacc feels excessive. Having said that, if this 'Super-Sarlacc' were included with the upcoming Sail Barge it would surely cause a pricey set to go bananas. I'm guessing there will already be plenty of protests about the price of the new Sail Barge even without a side build.
-
Occasionally I'll cave on an impulse buy while somewhere in tax-free NH...this time at a WalMart: 75396 Desert Skiff & Sarlacc and one more 75383 Sith Infiltrator. This particular WM did not put those damn spider harnesses on the sets - they were all freshly stocked with pristine boxes. Couldn't resist.

Hey there RMP! Great photos - especially the last one! My photos were taken hastily in bright ambient light on the kitchen counter with no image editing...a bit sloppy, I'll admit Being a 'vehicle-centric' LEGO enthusiast, I'm also an unapologetic fanboy of the Scimitar (I feel like there's not many of us). Back in 1999 I bought several copies of 7151 to build a better Infiltrator. All of the current builders have left me in their dust skill-wise, but I'm still inspired by MOCs like this. At this scale I think the wings look great. I always considered the bow of the wings subtle enough to be either ignored, or accomplished with plates, and still look good. And, again, at this scale I think this MOC really captures all the 'bullet points' that make the Scimitar unique. Really impressed with this one - you accomplished something I couldn't! *edit* Also - bricksafe.com! I think I'll sign up - looks like less hassle than Imgur (-=-)

As soon as I saw RMPs mod on Rebrickable I had to build one! The mod as pictured on the Rebrickable site can be built from one 75383 set with lots of leftover parts. The version pictured below has only a few minor additions of my own. You can still store two Dark Eye probes, but the drop function goes away. This little MOC certainly packs a punch - it really captures the overall shape, proportions and sleekness of the Scimitar in a very compact model - something I really like from LEGO these days. Thanks to ron_mcphatty for making this one far better! The basic stand instructions will apparently be added soon, but it's the same stand from his Naboo Fighter with one 1x3 brick added. Image is link....

Fantastic! The 'paint' scheme pops - perfect use of the 3 base colors! Great mash-up of the 2 types of ships, and the dragon nose art is perfect. It would make more sense if the wings could fold the full 90 degrees vertically in Flight Deck mode (assuming this position is intended for easier crowded staging on a flight deck) but either way, I love this MOC! Great photos, as well - thanks for posting this! If instructions for this MOC should ever find their way to BVT or Rebrickable, etc...I would definitely pay for them. Great work.

^^ If anyone is curious, YouTuber Tiago Catarino covers the designer reveal video. Jump to 2:00 minute mark to get to the business. -
At first glance the fuselage design looked a bit underwhelming or unfinished...until I watched the designer's video. This vehicle is so packed with functions, I'm giving everything else a pass. It looks like a great platform for modifying if I decide it necessary. Pre-ordered...and I'll likely end up with multiple copies.

Great looking Scimitar! You have accomplished so much here, where other MOCs fall short. I'll try to avoid typing a giant TLDR post, but here's what I really like: - You absolutely nailed the color scheme. The dark/light grey treatment and patterns are spot-on. - Near, but not 100% studless design. Your choice to build out the wing roots in a 'studs sideways' orientation is a great feature. I like a few studs here and there! - Very effective use of those hinged light grey panels at the fuselage-to-wing area! - A truly 'screen accurate' minifig interior, complete with the two level [somehwhat] spherical cabin section and the utility crawl space - with the Bloodfin speeder, no less!! - The aft boarding hatch and engine exhaust area look great - very close to the ILM design. - The double-jointed folding wings are the perfect shape, and the detail looks great - just enough, not overdone. Love it! Which brings me to a couple nitpicks. Don't take this the wrong way, because I love this MOC.... The prow. it's very THICC. So much so, it's a feature I can't warm up to. Of course, to make room for this amazing interior, you required more room. But every bit of source material I can dig up shows a slimmer, sleek prow profile. The bulky thickness of your prow design is not accurate in my opinion, and distracts from this otherwise BEAUTIFUL vessel. Also, the cabin looks a bit too rectangular from the plan view, and should be closer to a perfect sphere, but ANYWAY...this is one of my favorite vehicles in the SW universe and you created a real gem here. I only make these constructive criticisms because it's close to being a perfect design that I would purchase...many times over! Thanks for posting these beautiful photos, as well. $ .02

A kingly vessel indeed - wonderful work! I really appreciate the innovative bending technique you're using to get the curves on this one. The design screams luxury and opulence that only the high priviledged can attain. A striking and unique MOC with a masterful color scheme - I love it!
-
WOW!! This is the coolest creation I've seen in a while - FANTASTIC! The color scheme is perhaps the most striking I've seen in LEGO. The orange speakes for itself, but the light blue / gold metallic combo is beautiful! I haven't even watched the video yet, had to log on and comment! Wonderful work, thank you for posting this.

Fantastic stuff! ...and way to make a splash in the forums! You have a great eye for scale and proportion with this trio of MOCs. I'm partial to capital ships, so your Venator is by far my favorite of the three - especially that wide shot of the side view - WOW! As mentioned above, there seems to be an affinity for capital ships done in a 'midi' scale, as evidenced by the initial high demand for 75356 (from my observations, at least). I must say I was hovering above the 'Buy MOC Instructions' button twice today! I'll probably build this one eventually - perhaps include it in a forced perspective display with the Vigilance. Thanks for posting these!

I noticed this as well - many similarities to the MF. Circular 'docking rings,' side boarding ramp, asymmetric cockpit, dorsal cannons. It's like a stretched Falcon, except more rectangular and faceted...with articulating wings...and light sabers. *nerdgasm*
