  1. Thanks! I figured as much, it just seemed a long time to be down. No worries.
  2. "I think you have enough now." Hahahaha!
  3. Hi all, is Brickset working for you? I'm in NZ and it's nearly 5pm here, but I've been trying to access the site (new and old) since this morning and it seems to be down? Any luck?
  4. Oh an Ice Palace set! With that bridge, oh that bridge melts my heart! But an easier set would be the ice skating rink from the end of the movie, with the frozen fountains, a few accessories and Anna falling over of course. Our favourite princess has always been Belle though, I want books! If they did a castle theme, it would absolutely have to include a library. I've been dying for TLC to make a library, or book store or anything promoting literacy (especially among girls).
  5. I found these sets in a local store (which is crazy as NZ always gets things last) but I didn't get to buy any! My daughter, now 5 1/2, said they were for babies! While she was tempted to get Batman, she thought it would be 'too easy' and ended up with a Friends set which was quite a bit more of a challenge. I need to figure out how to get these without it upsetting her now... Any reviews up?
  6. "I have not seen lady in the ranks of firefighters, so it's nice to have one here. I'm not sure but firefighter has clearly inconsolable mine, but I do not know what is the reason ?" Nice review! My kid would love this. The female fig is not City's first (or last) but it's nice to see one with a more serious face, usually they are smiling which contrasts awkwardly with the other firefighters faces featuring frowns of concentration; dirty patches and sweat. Did you think your firefighter is crying? It may be sweat! I think Gail the new Lego Movie CMF is the only female fig to have a 'dirty frown face' as I like to think of it.
  7. My daughter would squee - and not for the beauty stuff, but a sofa bed? That's even cooler than a bunk bed! Woah! Plus there are so few leg pieces for darker toned minidolls, so I'd be keen to get the new outfit (all of ours, except Joanna, have mint-green skirts. Bah!)
  8. Do you mind telling us a bit more about the Heartlake Shopping Centre, perhaps over in the Friends rumours thread? It'd be great to know a bit more, so far we've seen one blurry image that was just confusing more than anything.
  9. Great review, congratulations! I bought this set as soon as possible and it's just a winner. My daughter was building 4433 with the dirt bikes at the same time, and I took a spare goggle mask part to replace the clear piece here (as it doesn't actually cover Mia's eyes in anyway) and she needs to stand on her stool to juice, but hey - it's Lego! We zoomed those bikes around for ages, and while the parts in this set didn't stay together very long (cookies!) that's the way we like it - colourful interesting bits here for sure.
  10. I'm totally with you. I just can't work out the upper floor plan - school holidays aren't helping! There are loads of corner build MOCs on here, did you see the Monde Cinema entrace? It'd be over-scale, but perhaps something with an overhang like that?
  11. Oh dang, I think you're right it does say Boy - but if he's brunette with a blue tee, maybe he's Jacob?
  12. Aww crap. I've managed to stay away from trains so far (one can only buy into so many themes) but this one looks like it'll be our first, and probably not last! Damn you 2014 - you'll bankrupt me!
  13. So I take it that's a no? Pity. Oh well, just gotta wait and see I guess! Also, fun fact: 60047 is less money in NZD at RRP $170 than 7498 at $200, and drops down to a wicked $130 on sale (even though it has more parts and vehicles) - but both sets are the same in USD. Odd.
  14. Hey all! Is there a thread somewhere where you can request a review? I'm keen to read more about the 60047-1 City Police Station (especially with a cross-comparison with 7498-1 and even 4440-1) and there's no way I can just 'buy it and find out for myself' so, has anyone got it and feels up to a review (or even an opinion?)? I know there are 2 video reviews (the BrickShow!), but they've never really been my thing and I'd quite like to see a decent photo of the interior. Thanks! Al
  15. I dig this, not only as a fan of the movie but also mainly for the detail achieved at such a scale. I'm not super keen on the black roofs - did the green look too much like the pine forest? That might be nice in a way, as the original castle settled into it's surroundings really well for such an imposing building, but I can see how you might like to avoid it.
  16. Looking at the pics again I can see how the old build is a bit more substantial, but it's so hard to tell without seeing the new one properly. I wish someone would do a review!
  17. They're not here in NZ either, or I think Aus - maybe March at a guess? I often see new Lego appear around Easter.
  18. April is ridiculous close now, it won't be long! I like TW for most things, but my Lyall Bay local is terrible with Lego. Lots of "Dunno? Is that Lego?" etc. Mind you, we mostly buy Friends And yes, I may BL/buy from the UK (family) but it feels so stupid. Even $300, which is still higher than the US etc, would have been fairer.
  19. Am I the only one who knows all cows have horns? They are literally cut off and the wounds cauterised when they're calves to prevent issues as adults. I guess Lego doesn't go in for that sort of thing! (Also my partner grew up on a Kiwi dairy farm. We know cows.) O photos! Lego huskies! They are cute - I thought they'd be white police dogs, but they look fuller, awesome! I also like the look of those ice parts. And the train station looks neat too - is that a new hair piece on the female minifig?
  20. Another boy! Troy! Nice name. So Stephanie, Emma and one other woman? Older woman? That's kinda cool. I don't personally like the 'bitsy' structure (I was secretly hoping for a Simpson's style hinged building) but it fits the Friends line designs so far. My daughter will love it!
  21. I think this would be a very clever way to bring girls who buy (or rather, have bought for them) the Friends line over to 'regular' Lego, like Creator and Bricks and More and so on. Just the overall style, the florist option, female fig most likely included (see previous Cafe Corner etc) - I know it appeals to me! It'll be way too expensive in NZ though. Sigh :(
  22. Hey, have you got a link? I couldn't see high res pics anywhere!
  23. A typical day in Lego-land (our guest room): "Hiss! Pop! Bang!!!" "Crackle crackle crackle" "HELP ME!" "Whee-oooo-wheee-oooo!!! SCREECH" "Phwoooooshhhh!" "Gasp gurgle gasp gasp" *sobs of gratitude* *murmur of reassurance* Everybody swooshes. It's just a thing.
  24. My 2014 plan? I have to get a job. This is kinda shameful, but my greatest motivation to get a job (which I've been meaning to do for a while now - my kid's finally in school, no excuses!) is so I can buy more Lego! We've also been creating a Lego room out of our guest bedroom, but that might be turning into a nursery (eek!) so I guess the next plan is to childproof all the little bricks?! One online project I'd like to work on is to make a site for parents of KFOLs, or AFOLs who happen to be parents as well (I call 'em PFOLs!). Which would be a neat place to get together non-judgmentally, and help parents new to Lego travel the windy path of video VS blog reviews, work out what 'value' is in Lego and generally ease their worries. Fun!
  25. Do you guys have the new one? Or seen it built IRL? I can't find a review anywhere, would be nice to have some thoughts from someone who has built it.
