  1. #7682, Shanghai Chase... this is the longest I've waited to pick up an IJ set. all the other ones, I either ordered as soon as they were on S@H or picked up as soon as they were at Wal Mart. It's already assembled, and I'm gonna be commenting on a thread that has a review of it.
  2. It took me 15 minutes, I would like to comment on the painted legs, the right leg has a wallet chain which can be useful for a rocker/biker in city MOCs, and the left leg a flashlight... I'm probably not gonna use this set for too much MOCing...
  3. I just picked this set up at Target, aaaaand it's my first PM set. I also went ahead and added all the PM sets on Brickset to my want list. Whether or not I'll actually get them is a different story. The only other PM set they had at Target was Crystal Sweeper (8961) but $70 is a little much for me to spend on a set when I'm trying to save up for an engagement ring. I have now had enough to drink to make putting this set together a hell of a lot of fun. Here it goes.. I'll time it, aaaand let you know my final time
  4. That's the hottest minifig torso ever! haha.
  5. Woah, there is a minifig who had too much to drink... that was definitely me on Saturday night oookay, just noticed a second one on the balcony.. I'd hate to be standing below him
  6. My new army only has around 30 soldiers Wal Mart has finally started stocking Cannon battle, but if I want to get the Impulses, I'm stuck ordering them from Lego 5 at a time
  7. Wow, that is quite impressive. That definitely outclasses the library in my town back home which has a 1:72 Mayflower, and 1:72 Santa Maria on display in enclosed glass cases. When I was a little kid, I'd spend hours looking at those models while my dad browsed books. I've thought about buying a wooden ship model to put together, but I don't have any place to assemble it, I have too many Lego bins taking up space I need to get stationed in Europe so I can check out this diorama for considerably less than it would otherwise cost me
  8. I would classify BB as a midsized ship, it only has two hull center sections. The only two ships with one center section would be what I would call small ships (IF, and CC). Everything smaller than that (Renegade Runner, CBC, and the one that comes with the ITP are what I would call boats. the only one of those three that has any grace is the boat that comes with the ITP, it actually has decent proportions..
  9. I bought BB, SF and two of the Shipwreck Hideouts when TRU had a sale back in December where it was buy one, get one half off, and even though I had the money to buy them outright, I went ahead and applied for a TRU card and got an extra 10% off. That card is now paid off and shredded I banked during that sale.. or splurged? Yeah I splurged.
  10. If these aren't available via UK S@H or US S@H, where are they available?
  11. holy snot!!! that's a lot of blue, I really like the way you recessed the shark into the water. I'm still working on building up my collection of blue bricks so I can do snot water
  12. I think that actually makes the most sense, Congrats Capt. Kirk, I think you've come up with the best explanation..
  13. I would disagree with that... all my soldiers were bought brand new from either KMart or Toys R Us. There were no Wal Marts or Targets in my area when I was a little kid. I've never bought used Lego.. I sell on Bricklink, but I've never bought anything from there. I also doubt it has anything to do with a "reissue" because all of my Pirate sets were bought the first time around, within the first year of production. I think it's just some freak deal where Lego changed printing.. because to make things a little interesting for me, every single set I own came with 2 red coat torsos. I have 6 red coats, and only 1 of them has black buttons. That means I got one black button torso, and one gold button torso in the same set.. but I don't know which one it was. It was either the Imperial Flagship or the Bounty Boat. Those are my only sources of original red coats.
  14. Now it's on clearance for $30 USD I bought 4, cuz... that's dirt cheap :-p
  15. Oh snap!!! Apparently I already voted in this poll, but I don't remember how I voted :-/ I only had 1 Redbeard. He has since been lost in the sands of time. I have no idea where he disappeared to, or even how I got him, because I don't have any sets that have him. I should 4 Ironhooks, but a brief glance at my Minifig display shows only 3 torsos, 2 heads, and 1 original hat. I don't know what happened to the other parts. of him :-p I was young, I probably traded pieced with friends, or I just lost them. I now have 6 or 7 Brickbeards, his torso looks so effing sharp. but I can't exactly have that many Captains missing eyes, hands, and legs, so I've done a little customization on him. That torso is so freakin useful. I love it. By swapping out the hook, pants, and putting a different head on him, he can be anything from a stern merchant captain, to a wealthy businessman.
  16. The dynamite comes with the Soldier's Fort, and Power Miner sets... maybe some of the new construction sets too?
  17. Dude, Bricklink has a price guide... just check that out for the lower and upper limits of what people are paying for sets... they even separate it by new and used sets
  18. Actually, those skulls are available in a new pirate set, which makes the screaming face the only non pirate piece
  19. Very nice review. I voted 5. It's an outstanding Army builder. I've purchased 9 copies so far, with plans to buy many more. I just need to order some new heads off of Bricklink so I have a better variety
  20. Would this be the same material the IJ whips and satchels are made of? I don't have any of the previously mentioned figures, just the IJ sets. This intrigues me now.
  21. Oh jeez... Daniel Radcliffe doesn't count, because he's only been immortalized as Harry Potter, neither does Mark Hamill, since he was only Luke Skywalker. If you want to get technical you can almost count Avatar and Spiderman as marks for Hamill, but he only provided voices Harrison Ford, on the other hand, has been in two different Lego collections.. and since the Spiderman sets came out in my dark ages, I forgot about Alfred Molina So let's get back to Indiana Jones being awesome for giving us great new figures, and immortalizing characters from completely different universes placed by same actors... uuuhm not sure how to phrase that last part to make sense.
  22. I might've set up my Bricklink account to show only people that'll ship to me :-p but anyway... I didn't know there was two different versions either until I saw a house that the Souther California Lego Train Club had put together that was at the MRR museum in Balboa Park, San Diego. I had seen both of them used there, and it took me a few hours to find it, because I had no idea what to look for. That's how I found out about them
  23. I would have no problem with the return of the SPaniards, but I'd like to see Lego wait a year or two. I missed out on them the first time around because of my dark ages.. this time around I want to work on my soldiers sets for awhile.
  24. That's the only one I have with black buttons. I think it's pretty rare. It's gotta have something to do with the dates the torsos were printed or something, but I doubt there's any way we can find out for sure
  25. Hell yeah they do! that'd be a bad prison to spend time in
