  1. Hello Folks! I love LEGO mechas. Long time ago I bought a 7709 in mint condition, and the blue mech of it was love for the first sight. Still, as an official set it looks... well, bit lame. I borrow pictures from this review: Lot of empty areas, right? The trailer of the upcoming Ninjago movie raised my Mech-fever again, and I dug out this set from the depth of foil bags and boxes hell. I really wanted to bring this blue guy in up-to-date status, and make it look as it would be an actual set, which is on pair of the most recent Ninjago mechs. I hope, I succeeded to polish up the look well (You judge) and made it beefy enough while keeping the genetics of the original, to be able to take it's well deserved place in the world of LEGO mechs. On the side note: it is 11 years old now...wow! And the light brick is still working. The weapons are the same, they look already genial. The sword is now can be carried on the back (held by a black Technic axle) for traveling, and I gave some boost for high performance flight mode. The whole cabin is rebuilt, actually overall a lot happened. Let the pictures talk from now on, enjoy! EDIT: I found two pieces of Nr 4 connectors in medium blue , which came handy here for the cabin bottom (instead of black ones).
  2. Hey guys, I was on Reddit the other day, and saw a post by a LEGO designer stating that there was an Exo-Force Easter egg in the MechDragon... I checked and sure enough, there was a sticker of the split Sentai Mountain on the side of the dragon! Did anyone notice this? I think that that is so cool, and hope to see more Easter eggs in the future! legozebra
  3. I was feeling a bit nostalgic(If 2006 is nostalgic 0.o) yesterday and decided to throw together a little Exo Force MOC. The first EF set I ever recieved was in fact Stealth Hunter, so I decided to re-innovate that. -----------------Full Gallery HERE---------------- Please note I have some Bricklink Shopping to do quite soon. There's a few spots on here which have some preliminary parts on. The yellow portions on the feet, random trans colored tiles, a lot of color layering on the back, and the lower arms will be completely redone to look more solidified. Obviously the entire build is different from the Stealth Hunter we received 7 (!) years ago; One thing that always bothered me about the original Stealth Hunter was the "wings" They really are more of extra fins to help move in the air, not really a proper method of flight. So On the back of the Mk II I have some (designs to change) rocket boosters to assist in flight. I have also made the iconic shoulder wings on the stealth hunter into a sort of transforming shape. I always thought it would be cool if they were constantly changing while it was flying to increase or decrease speeds The final configuration creates a sort of pod shape, meant to be the result when the Stealth Hunter is at max speed; Weapons are going to be scraped pretty quick, really need to rethink those Being that it is still in the works, comments are appreciated. A couple points I know people will mention; Too much gray (Need BL Orders) Blue pins on forearms are distracting(Have white versions that I'll place in soon) Random bits of color (Need to get those parts in the proper colors) And I'll do some restructuring and some more work all around, but so far I'm happy with how it is turning out. And for the more observant of you, you may notice the torso in the pic with Hikaru standing on the ground in front of it looks almost like a small ship; Something that will become more prominent in the Mk III. I really did like Exo Force, shame it came to such a quick end. VBBN
