I just don't understand why whenever people bring up the possibility of a connection of sorts, people automatically assume it means we'll actually be returning to G1, doing things that affect G1, or having characters from G1 appear. If that was the case, I'm right there with you guys, I'd hate it as well. That's not what I think Lego would ever do, though. It would be a more open-ended thing. Like, as controversial and questionable as this would be, say they go the angle of the G2 Toa coming from the G1 timeline. Here's how I would envision that playing out: the Toa finish their quest, they get their memories back, and discover where they come from. Much in the same way as they handled the Skull Grinder reveal in the animations, I could see a voice-over by an announcer talking about their homeland, with a constellation or something of the island of Mata Nui, indirectly confirming it. No matter what angle Lego goes with (if anything), that's about as far as I ever see the generations being connected. Vague hints, references, and perhaps outright confirmations, but nothing that affects the continuity of the story all that much or takes away from its reboot atmosphere.

No, that was never said; quite the opposite, in fact. Mata Nui was mentioned at NYCC and they acknowledged his existence in old canon but stated that this time, we were focusing on Ekimu and Makuta.

At the stage of development when this poster would have been made, the island of Okoto presumably would have had a finalized shape and design. There would be no reason to use this island as a placeholder image. This is a drastically different scenario from the Ignika, which was from early preliminary concept imagery (before the sets even had background artwork for their boxes), and was likely drafted up pretty early on into the theme's lifespan. It makes perfect sense for placeholder imagery to be seen in confidential box-art, especially when the final MoCr likely wasn't finished being designed at the time those pictures were created. So no, at this juncture, I don't really put any stake into saying that Mata Nui is a "placeholder" for Okoto. If I'm wrong, I'll be the first to admit it, but it doesn't seem likely to me at all and it seems like grasping from people desperate to deny even the faintest possibility of some type of connection. It'd be much more reasonable to just label this as a mistake (like the Hero Pack MoCr design), or say that they're just reusing the shape of Mata Nui as a G1 reference, but it won't actually be the island of Mata Nui. Just some other new island that resembles it so old fans can go "Hey, I remember that place!" Or, there could be an island CALLED Mata Nui (just like there's a guy called Makuta), but it won't be the same Mata Nui from the G1 universe. That being said, if you want my personal opinion, I think this was intentional (for whatever reason) and I'm interested to see what Lego has up their sleeves, if anything.

The only real positive stickers have is for MoCists. I MoC on a frequent basis, so I greatly enjoy the option to have the piece printed or unprinted depending on my preference at that time. For people that just like to display and pose their sets, though, I can imagine stickers being nothing more a chore.

The craziness regarding leaks is really something to behold this year.... I think this is the worst/best it's ever been (depending on your perspective). What you've been doing is appreciated CM4Sci, so yeah, best to play it as safe as possible in this instance.

Honestly, I would wager the absence of catalog pictures just has to do with people not wanting to risk it being traced back to them moreso than any particular new security measure by Lego. Just because we had people willing to take the risk in years past does not necessarily mean the same is true in today's climate. Plus, the last couple of years we haven't exactly gotten a surplus of catalog pictures either. In fact, the last time that happened aside from BIONICLE 2015 was Hero Factory Breakout. We're much more likely to discover the pictures via online shop sites.

In the interest of being fair, that's never stopped anyone in years past. People just typically upload them anonymously to some image hosting website where they can't be traced back to the original poster and let the community discover them from there. :P Descriptions sound very interesting. I never held much hope for a classic historical theme so I'm perfectly content with the sound of this. Hopefully it does well for Lego.

There's no way that episode is the last episode for this year. Everybody should just get off that logic train at the next possible stop. Editing error or mistake with the end credits.

71312-71316 now display as "Page not Found" when you try to go to the pages. Curious... Lego probably caught on and took them down.

It happened with 2009; as can be seen by reading the posts on this page, the entire list for the year got leaked on August 19th, 2008 (earlier than this, if you can believe it). It's an anomaly, no doubt, but not impossible.

Other non-lego forums typically deal with "insider information" via a moderator-approved process. As in, the individual must disclose specific information, images, or other irrefutable proof of their claims before they are allowed to share them publically. If they pass certification, they can post. If they don't, then they're banned on the spot. Would that be viable for Eurobricks? Eh, probably not, considering the nature of Lego leaks. Just a thought I had. Definitely not. The advent of BIONICLE's return and the non-stop bombardment of leaks last year is what has spurred this on.

I'd imagine that would likely be the case; I'm skeptical that we'll get a Protector-size Makuta at all, but I sincerely hope we do. A 2-pack would be the most logical way to go. Wonder who they'd package him with, though...

As a follow-up; I have been provided with a blurred image, not of the sets directly, but of their boxes. I'll be completely honest when I say that due to the severity of the blur, I honestly couldn't tell you if it's legitimate or not. Just letting you all know that Nekchir did follow through, though, so keep that in consideration. I'll let him share if he wishes.

My questions would likely boil down to receiving some form of visual proof of this information's legitimacy rather than anything regarding the sets themselves. I understand the risk associated with that, however, so I've refrained from asking. :P 'Cause yeah, it's not so much that I distrust you so much as I'm reluctant to take anything like this at face value due to all the fake leaks that have circulated around. If any visuals could be provided to back up this info's legitimacy and show that you actually have the catalog (not even of the sets, maybe... a blurred image of the front of the catalog or a little corner of a page with no watermarks), that'd just make me a very happy guy.
