So are we thinking April 1st release, or May?

No - I just hated that part. (And I don't think it was the film crew's intention to imply that. They just wanted one big enough to eat a Great White. No serious, involved plot point - just another scene-stealing gimmick. )

Some exaggeration? That thing was ridiculous! (I could care less about the Mosasaurus as well, but I know a lot of people are really fixated on it.) I'm just jonesing for more information on the original film's anniversary set(s). I already know I need multiples. Need.

I feel strangely - glad - that I have no interest in the Mosasaur whatsoever. I found that whole part of Jurassic World kind of irritating, actually. I guess that's more money for me to put toward 'Classic Jurassic'.

These are great! (I wish I could say the same about the film... )

And I present to you: LEGO + Kenner + Jurassic Park = Brilliance.

I'm consoling myself with the thought that the Raptor in the Dino Defense set looks like Kenner's Electronic Raptor, while the new one looks more like Kenner's regular 'Slash N' Strike' release. (Nostalgia for me.) It's like I'll have both! (I never did get the electronic version as a kid - it was between that or the electronic Dilophosaurus, and who could resist that frill?)

So how does the new Dilophosaurus fit into all this then? And I have to apologize guys - it's partially my fault that we got a JP-accurate raptor. I broke down 2 weeks ago and bought a brand-new sealed Dino Defense Headquarters set (yes, it was expensive) partially because it includes the most (until now) accurate Raptor to the ones in the first film. I'm going to have a lot of Dinosaurs come summer...

Wow. I'm in this thread out of curiosity (I can't afford to start collecting Harry Potter as well), but I have to say this was a fantastic page that covers everything. Thank you for posting!

How does it differ from the original one? I'm not sure if I'm more excited, or not....

I'd take a chest-up Brachiosaurus before a Spino myself. Or even a Trike re-release. Just to get some herbivorous Dinos in for a change. (But that Spinosaurus does look really awesome...) And Grant and Tim with a Ford Explorer? Throw in a Raptor in the original color scheme and I'd be in heaven. Though I'd still want 3.

Gah! Leaked pictures that I cannot find! Must be patient. Must be patient. Any other illuminating tidbits from those of who who've seen this picture? What price point do you think it'll be? I'll need 3 of them, so that's a pretty crucial detail...

I was under the impression that the Brickheadz were the store exclusives (Walmart & TRU). Only 5 System Sets, 3 Junior Sets, and 2 Duplo Sets announced. God, I hope I'm wrong. I'd love some surprise system sets.

Well, we're supposed to get a brick-built Triceratops skull with the largest set, right? Sort of close. I'm just hoping there's still a retailer exclusive we don't know about.

I started this topic because I'd been reading a lot of complaints regarding the cost of licensed themes compared to their unlicensed counterparts and hadn't been able to find any reasoning for it here in the States. I did some quick data work consisting of the average price per piece of 9 different LEGO lines released in the year 2012. The results were as follows: 1) Dino at .146 cents per piece 2) Star Wars at .130 cents per piece 3) City Mining at .128 per piece 4) City Forest Police at .121 cents per piece 5) Lord of the Rings at .115 cents per piece 6) Super Heroes at .115 cents per piece 7) Friends at .109 cents per piece 8) Monster Fighters at .105 cents per piece 9) Ninjago at .104 cents per piece This list brought up 2 good points: 1) Star Wars really is expensive, and could rightfully be responsible for tarnishing the price point of licensed themes, and 2) Themes with large molded pieces (i.e. Dino and City Mining) are inherently more expensive due to the specialized large molds created for them, which is why they appear towards the top of the list. Other than that, plus or minus .04 cents doesn't seem all that huge, though when you realize that it's per piece, it might have a bit more of an impact. UPDATE: Several people from other countries have chimed in (see below), and it seems that elsewhere in the world, licensed themes really are more expensive (in some cases, ridiculously so). It seems that TLG prices products at what they think people are willing pay, not necessarily what seems fair. So those licensing costs accrued by TLG? Are apparently passed on to the consumers, but only consumers in specific countries. Other thoughts?

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Crownie replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Regarding Release Dates? I couldn't find anything after looking through the past couple of pages; I've noticed some people in the US are finding the Man of Steel sets available at Walmart already. Does anyone know what the actual 'street date' for release is? I can't imagine I'd be lucky enough to find them at my Walmart here in the NW, so I'll just wait until I know they're out. -
I'm finding something off with the blue used for the Lion Knights. It reminds me of the almost 'neon' coloration of the minifigs in the 2009 Pirate line. Perhaps LEGO is having trouble mixing their colors again - or they're simply not using enough dye. The plastic could be showing up a bit...transparent? In any event, it's amazing how enticing those CGI backgrounds can apparently make things... Seeing the sets against white isn't very flattering.
-
It's funny, but I have to echo some of these sentiments. The high-res pictures actually make me want the sets less. Normally, it's the opposite. Hmmm.
-
Is is wrong to tell you how much I love you? These are not only great MOC's, but they really do give me that 'retro' feeling. It fits both LEGO and TMNT quit well. Awesome! Totally awesome!

You make some good points, however I'm referring to the general reviews the vehicle seems to be getting. A lot of complaints about stability and problems with assembly.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Crownie replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not unless it will be a Comic-Con reveal? I'm not sure, but I haven't really seen much hype for any Fall movies yet. -
I'm finding the posting in this thread to be rather lackluster. So...I'm hoping to contribute something worthwhile. Firstly, the new Nick show has been greenlit for season 3, so the future appears bright at the moment for a potential long-term license. (This is assuming that LEGO has good sales on these sets and didn't shoot themselves in the foot with the Shellraiser. ) Secondly, and perhaps more exciting to some, are these awesome LEGO videos. Seriously, I'm surprised these haven't cropped up anywhere else! (Or I'm blind, lol.)
