    Unique Characters in Army Builders

I voted yes, but with a caveat - Unique army builders should always have that special character, from a licensed perspective. I find uses for them though. Every army has platoons, platoons have squads and squads and platoons need unique leaders. Swap out some hair here, a weapon there and each squad and platoon has a little more personality. If we are talking generic castle, then by all means no. I do miss the old sets where you got 5 guys and a boat-load of gear for around 9-12 bucks.

    Troll Dreadbringer

The Scale, the glorious scale. That's awesome!
  3. Depending on which season's hairstyle, I believe there are a lot of good options for Troi. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=92082 - This one might be good for earlier in the seasons. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=95225 - This one is close to the over the shoulders look she had in one of the motion pictures. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=93352 - This one might be good, but to be honest I'm not sure how the "Friends" line head pieces work on the traditional mini - and in my opinion that matches Lwaxana a bit closer. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=92259 - Finally, this one, it's almost too short in my opinion, but it would work for her straightened look for the later motion picture. I'm not sure how purist you are going, but in my modding, my special or main characters have special hair styles I customize myself. Not sure if you're up for trying that route, but here are a few shots of modified(colored) hair pieces I've tried. My Flickr- I apologize for the lighting, and lack of a closer view. Once I get my collection un-boxed and find/charge my camera I'll try to get better pictures up. http://www.flickr.com/photos/66677422@N03/6071899198/in/photostream/lightbox/

    Minifig capes

Nice work! To be honest, I bet if you put yours next to an official one I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference.
  5. Squee!! This would have been an awesome licensed series to TLG to pickup, a shame they didn't. I second Commodore Legolas on the 30608 hairpiece for Geordi, I think it fits closely to his original hair. As far as Worf is concerned, if you wanted to sway a tad bit away from purist, and do a little modding surgery, you could take the front of this piece http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=99241pb01 and mold it together with an appropriate hairpiece. Good luck.

    [MOC] The Windmill

Outstanding. This really brings back memories of the fight at the windmill in Final Fantasy Tactics.

    Lotr Microfig Prototypes

I like em, they have an almost Chibi look to them. A scene would do these guys some justice.

    Shield Dilemma's

I personally use the vast array of different shield designs to designate different families in my world. When a new design comes out that closely resembles an old I see it as an opportunity to expand a family - sons, daughters, aunts, uncles and cousins share a theme/symbol and modify it based on their region or taste. Makes obtaining and blending in the new factions easier for me.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 9 poll

I went for the Heroic Knight. I'm quite partial to the Medieval styled Minifigs. Series 9 in my opinion has the best looking knight and as far as collecting and release speed is concerned, I usually only try to snag the ones I like/want and am not worried about having the entire collection.

    Mirkwood Elf Guard

Unfortunately I have only seen them at TRU physically, around 5 - 6 $ U.S. I was very tempted to grab handfuls while Christmas shopping last time, but the price really threw me off compared to the MSRP. My wife bought me a few for Christmas on Amazon for closer to MSRP.

REVIEW- 30213- Gandalf at Dol Guldur

TRU in my area is selling these at 6$ and upward. Fair review I say, I do wish they made Foe-Hammer, Orcrist and Sting slightly different from the other blades in the set, considering they are of Elven make. Details.

How to delete double printed heads?

Just to throw this out there, I use those magic eraser sponges(Brand name or not both work just as well) and a little water and it rubs right off.

    CCCX: The Unexpected (misc)

Brings back awesome memories as a fighting member of Midgard, dressed in all black and carrying small shields so no one could tell who was what type of fighter. Beautifully done, the landscape and foliage really scream Hibernia. Again, well done!

    Custom Space Marine

This guy looks rather awesome. Your painting technique is absurdly detailed, you wouldn't happen to have a video detailing your process? Specifically the fine details on the helm and armour. Beautifuly done.

    Areani Knights

Love em! They look great. Do you have a template you use when you cut/shape the cloaks or just free hand? I've been trying to use leather for my cloaks but tracing the originals make them feel too small and free handing them is hit or miss.

What do you guys do with Crown knights?

I have all my factions set into their own groups. Crowns, Dragons, Falcons, Lions, so forth and so on. I use the older sets as family teirs, older Lions as the father, newer Lions as the son, and the middle set Lions as cousins or another son. I have built a semi small world and story around each faction. When I finally get a room for all of my Lego I'll get to set up my world and flesh out my story.

    LEGO Castle 2013

Here are my semi educated guesses on the remakes if they so happen to be. Mostly based on the names themselves and of course sets that best match the description. I would hope they would not just remake them as they did with the Legends set(s) but actually make them in a newer image and flesh them out quite a bit. More minifigs, more going on within each set, etc. Anywho, for your speculating pleasure, here are the following. 70400 Forest Ambush: Possibly a remake of this one, though I speculate it will be larger. 70401 Gold Getaway: Crossing my fingers for this one, as it was my favorite as a kid, of course, again modified and larger. 70402 The Gatehouse Raid: Again, a slightly larger version. 70403 Dragon Mountain: It was a toss-up between this one and 6082 Fire Breathing Fortress, but I feel this one represents the mountain more. 70404 Kings Castle: Finally this one. Lots to choose form, and one could almost hope for a Black Falcon castle but I feel safe with this guess.

    LEGO Castle 2013

I've read rumor that one of the sets is a remake of http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=7946-1 Though that seems a little silly in my opinion, as that was the most recent line. Unless of course these Lions are taking the place of the Crusaders in the new line, which could possibly mean we will see Black Falcons re-emerge. Fingers crossed.

    No More Elrond Minifigures Available?!?

I was able to sweet talk the sales person at Gamestop yesterday to give me an Elrond with my non pre-order purchase of the game. I was all over ebay trying to get one, but hadn't seen anything for under $25 U.S. Bricklink still hadn't put it in the system yet, but I've noticed a few sellers on the forums there looking to sell their Elrond polybags. Turns out a family member who doesn't give two shakes about Lego got an Elrond the day the game released and he has been sitting on their desk in the polybag for days.

Any chance of any Brave themed sets?

I believe that until the show itself produces the amount of popularity to garner a sequel or pulls in a large amount of interest (Don't get me wrong the story for Brave looks outstanding) it won't get touched by a license outside of Disney itself. If LEGO were to pick it up, I assume it would be molded along the lines of the LEGO Friends products, as they most likely would market it towards younger girls. V/R Commo
  21. Absolutely love the talons grasping the rock base. All together this is stunning and I look forward to seeing more of your imagination come alive.

Anybody else in the South West United States?

Moving back down to Central Az in a few months myself. Currently exited my Dark Ages in Seattle, WA. There was a lot up here to pull me back in. I never officially joined a LUG, have a MOC posted (Outside of some Minifig Customs) or been to a meeting other than attending the Seattle LEGO Convention every year since 2009. I'd hope to run into some ALE (Prefer over AFOL, it's how I roll) when I get back to Arizona.

    Gluing Lego

Unfortunately they were mangled rather thoroughly. I was able to save a few pieces but not much survived. Gluing can work, but in my case it bit me back.

    Gluing Lego

I used light a light dab of plastic modeling glue. It backfired on me of course, oddly enough if a person wants to take something apart they will. I was left with nearly an entire collection destroyed. I used them as display, children would take them apart, I glued them, and the children proceeded to take them apart, glue be damned. It was a sad day as I could not salvage much of the models. Perhaps a parts bucket for those who want to toil with their imagination and a stern warning about games for game use only?

New to Lego...Let me throw this out there.

I buy to collect. It's the only thing that really lets my imagination fly when it comes to Medieval History or Medieval Fantasy. Building my sets also is a type of relaxation. I really get to unwind, DE-stress and over all just get involved with something I'm doing without a major time commitment. I also enjoy building with my daughter.
