Probably not a video I only have a phone and no tripod so I cant demonstrate the functions and record art the same time but I may think about it. I don't have any other turquoise parts and I'm not sure there are any equivalent parts to do a modern version but they are stud less. Also if you insist on all modern parts then the wheels and air tanks can't be used.

Seeing as my 8868 Air Claw cant be entered I'm going for the next one the often overlooked 8462 now having rebuilt it there are a lot of cool little features i never noticed when I first got it. Like the auto centring tailgate. I'll post some progress pics in a bit (supposed to be at work now My plan is to try and keep i as good a match as possible to the original so sticking with the even width winch is making the turntable a bit of a challenge.

On the UK Lego website you can now per order it for release in October why is this getting massive pre-order time when the models fro august not even listed??

@Timorzelorzworz Stud.io doesn't have pneumatic tubes as a part and they are not part of the flex system. (If they built stud.io around the harder Technic parts they would be saving themselves a lot of grief in the future bat that's a different rant.) The flexible hoses are for the smaller hard tubes so the diameter is smaller. when I was making my version of the 8868 i used LDCad for the tubes and then import them into Stud.io via the part designer tool. I used Thus Guide to create the tubes. Its quite a time consuming process and even importing the parts has a trick to it to get them to have the right orientation.

So i Have the functions added even though this is for the competition and I can probably make more for show than function I still find myself trying to make the model stronger still unsatisfied with the amount of flex where the switches connect.

I'm no expert on air tanks but I would assume if it was an air tank it would be cylindrical for uniform pressure within the vessel? and comparing it to the old tank that wouldn't have much volume which would create more pressure than storage? In general I don't think we will see another air tank as with out a pressure regulator I have been rebuilding the 8462 and I found that while the air tank does store more air to use the functions the first few uses after its at pressure are so fast that its hard to control.

I own the original so was going to use those as this if for the completion. However, normally i try to build these with parts that a current or highly available but I don't think there is anything close the only other silver rims I can think of are the 8448 super street but there just as old.

Think I'm also missing some of the blue lift arms myself so may have to go shopping

Ah Sorry, yes I know that's a frame. I was using to illustrate that's what a frame should look like. I think the rear section has 2 alternating beams the gears being used as functions throw too much shadow to be 100%

I think we are getting new alternating beams The front square is how a frame looks side on when horizontal for the rear image to be a frame it must be vertical but you can see that its not. so probably an 11 and a 9 looking at the space and where its round at the end.

So have been building the structure and crane trying to recreate the style using Technic over bricks Think the turquoise parts will have to remain as that colour has not returned to stud-less Technic.

Yes probably wishful thinking or maybe like the Volvo 42053 they will included a compressor so you can motorise yourself. seems to be plenty of space to put one in.

As I cant see a manual pneumatic pump and its called power tow on the 42128 I think it might have a compressor which possibly means the new dumb battery box may be in it finger crossed.

I think I have an Idea which one I'll have a go at as it just needs to be stud-less not my normal make it with only the latest parts so that might make it a bit simpler as I can reuse some of the original parts that are stud-less. As were not allowed CG entries needs to be one I have the colours for as I don't enough yellow to have a go at 8862. but I'm super slow so i hope that 2 months will be enough time for me.

A few. Mainly for the knob wheels to line up with the gear selector you need 3 or 5 and I was having to many friction and space problems to make it fit, this works in the space and function won over form.

I have finished my instructions to add a gearbox D-N-R selector and sequential shifter I have also changed the ride height. You can get them here for free. Hope you like it.

Finlay finished the instructions you can now download them for free here Air-Claw With a new Pneumatic truck possibly on the horizon, I decided to give the Redux treatment to one of my favourite models.This is due to its complexity and that it was the first large model that i bought for myself that was not a Christmas or Birthday present. And judging from a recent post on the forums a lot of you like it as well. I have still to model the tubing from my IRL model but I may have to switch to LDCad as stud.io is still not the best at this. As with most of the models of the old studded times, to convert to studless you have to switch the width from even to odd so the truck is now one stud wider. I have tried to keep as many details from the original and made changes where the new beams demand it or where newer parts allow a better build. With the redux models I make I always try to use the most current parts available so people who don't have the original have a chance to build it as well. Please let me know what you think especially the front of the truck as I have employed a few odd techniques to keep it looking like the original. Plans will follow eventually when i get the tubing done.

Have uploaded the instructions to rebirckable Air-Claw It now has 328 steps up from the original 32 so maybe not as brutal to build as the original Hope you enjoy the build. I had some fun with the instructions as stud.io doesn't seem to like pneumatics too much but if there are errors please let me know.

Can you give me a link to that gearbox? I have not seen that one and I'm trying to improve my understanding of Lego gear boxes thanks. Also there is a reverse selector in the centre on the 488 GTB wich is what I'll mod this into.

Disaster just noticed the crank shaft is hitting one of the gears and is catching i think i can move the engine up half a stud to fix it and it should still fit in the engine bay
