    Jurassic Park/World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Same. Well, at least I'll buy the Nedry set on day one and Bricklink/eBay just the Jeep from the Brachio set. The Triceratops set is a bit tougher...how badly do I need another complete Explorer? And getting two Minifigures, a Trike, and one big pile of Megablocks as a bonus... I simply can't afford the Visitor Center on top of other sets this year, and I don't care about Muldoon enough to track him down.

    Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

It's been at least over a year since I've posted on this website, but I just had to chime in: Yes please to the Temple of the Golden Idol. I'd even pay $200 if that's what LEGO charges. No thanks for the Plane set. Hard pass for the Well of Souls. But has it occurred to anyone else that we could be dealing with an Osprey situation where the sets never get an official release, and everything that made it to stores gets recalled?
  3. I haven't posted here in probably at least a year, so I have a lot of stuff to catch up on, but I just wanted to chime in here: I think it's possible that LEGO didn't know that the Razor Crest was going to be destroyed in season 2, and that they were banking on riding the massive hype train of The Mandalorian, and that they didn't want to throw away the massive investment of designing and producing a $530 set. The fact that it's the fourth largest Star Wars set is almost a coincidence at this point, I think, as LEGO sets in general get more and more expensive. I don't mean that they are worse value brick by brick or for "volume of stuff," I just mean that the sets are literally getting larger and therefore having higher price tags. I personally think it's far more plausible than an MBS from the Prequels, especially after the lackluster marketing and (apparently) performance of the Republic Gunship. Also, I am extremely excited for an affordable Jedi Starfighter set, but I really hope it will have the proper landing gear that hasn't appeared in any set since 2002! The AT-TE also sounds pretty nice, but I don't think fancy clones are an excuse for such a high price.

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Anyone have any idea when Diagon Alley might come back in stock in the US? I keep ordering it and changing my mind, and now I really shot myself in the foot, seeing as it might be gone for months again.

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I started thinking seriously about the omissions from last year's 75978 Diagon Alley. It's almost 100% certain that we'll be getting a Deathly Hallows Gringotts Escape set next year. Honestly, I think $250 would be the perfect price, if not a little too pricy to do the scene justice. For a $300-400 price point, I think they could randomly throw in the Leaky Cauldron, but I hope there isn't another LEGO Harry Potter set that's so expensive. I just can't see the Leaky Cauldron happening as a standalone set, at least not until this theme is old and grey. Not because it's a pub (we all know LEGO doesn't care about that) but because it's a dark, dingy, and fairly generic building. Borgin and Burke's seems much more likely, possibly at the $80-ish price point. Other shops, such as the Magical Menagerie and Eeylop's Owl Emporium, will probably never ever see the light of day, and honestly I'm okay with that.

Sadly, that number seems more accurate than what Textorix estimated above Thanks, both of you, for your quick replies!

Has anyone been able to figure out exactly how many grilled 8x8 dark tan plates are present in the upcoming wave? I would like to Bricklink solid replacements for some of them. Thanks! Oh, and Textorix, you're one of those people on the Internet who just astonishes me with their ingenuity and brilliance. Your layout just made it even harder for me to wait until June

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

It's really strange that different regions have different sets available for pre-order. The conspiracy theorist in me thinks that the US gets Fawkes, Wizard's Chess, and the giant buildable figures because demand is expected to be lower for those sets, and LEGO can therefore more easily meet that demand. That said, my even-more-conspiracist-side also wouldn't be surprised one bit if the rest of the sets go up for preorder in all regions on Wednesday, after the Double VIP promotion ends.| EDIT: Against my better judgment, I preordered Wizard's Chess for myself and Fawkes for my girlfriend. She is also interested in the giant buildable figures, but I won't pay full price for those things without a special occasion to do so.

I agree, but it's odd, because I think the new Basilisk is one of the best LEGO molded creatures ever made

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I'm in the same boat! Except I'll be Bricklinking the old Fluffy. I kept holding out hope that the new one would be better, but...nope. The generic minifigures and poor build seal the deal for me. This is the first time I'm passing up a Harry Potter set because I want to, not because I can't afford it.

Occam's Razor says that "Hogwarts Moments" is just the codename for Gringotts

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Thanks :) Yeah, it's hard to justify that set, even on sale, when Fluffy is going straight in the parts bin. Even when it's present as an essential part of the modular Hogwarts display, the Forbidden Corridor build easily stands out as the weakest link. I mean, I'll probably still buy it, but only after the rest of the wave (minus the enormous minifigs, which I have no space or use for).

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Are there any exclusive minifigure parts in the Fluffy set (other than the golden Hermione, obviously)? It looks to me like Harry and Hermione have the same torso as Neville in the Flying Lesson and Ginny in the Chamber of Secrets; and Ron has the same torso as Harry in the Chamber of Secrets. It's all a bit confusing, but from a minifigure point of view, it should be easy enough to skip the Fluffy set, right? Thanks in advance. I really hope someone can help me answer this question.

In the US, the Flying Lesson is the only August set, for reasons best known to someone other than I

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I disagree. I'm sure it will thrive. This is one area where LEGO can learn from their mistakes. Having said that, my feelings have somewhat soured after the initial joy of new pictures. Here is my ranking now: 1. Hogsmeade (not perfect, but as good as I could hope for at the price point) 2. Hogwarts Polyjuice Potion Mistake (better than the subject matter has any right to be) 3. Hogwarts First Flying Lesson (surprisingly sophisticated and aesthetically pleasing for...a wall) 4. Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets (chock-full of detail, minifigures, and accessories, but the build is a step back. Comparatively <insert that tiresome argument>--let's see if Eurobricks still censors that word) Edit: Yep, they did 5. Fawkes, Dumbledore's Phoenix (the design is lifted mostly from Hedwig, but I can't really complain with what's there) 6. Hogwarts Wizard's Chess (this set is not structurally sound, and it appears incredibly boring to build) 7. Hogwarts Fluffy Encounter (the Forbidden Corridor from 2001 was a better set) 8. Harry Potter and Hermione Granger (technically well-designed, but I suspect these will be in every Target clearance aisle by Christmas; next to the freakin' Chamber of Secrets, and at a mere $10 price difference, who would choose this?)

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Jedi Jac Penguin has set # 40500 listed some kind of minifigure pack. And I thought some other reliable leakers had confirmed that it was Quidditch with Harry, Cho, Malfoy, and Zacharias Smith, or something like that. But maybe it was fake, I don't know.

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

So no news yet on the Quidditch Minifigure Pack yet, huh? That's odd. Or not. I don't remember what time last year we first saw an image of the Students Pack.

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Sets are (sort of) live on LEGO.com in the US! If you type the set name and number into the URL, you get something like this. Release date showing June 1(!) but I'm not holding my breath just yet. https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/hogwarts-polyjuice-potion-mistake-76386 EDIT: Never mind, they're all live under the Harry Potter page Enjoy

Hmm...Target is no longer advertising pre-orders on their LEGO landing page. Oh well, no one expected a release of new sets to be simple
  24. RogueTwo

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Interesting! So this suggests that the sets will (initially) all be Target-exclusives in the United States? Potentially with a wide release date of July or August?

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

My new ranking: 1. Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets 2. Polyjuice Potion Mistake 3. First Flying Lesson 4. Forbidden Corridor Fluffy Encounter 5. Wizard Chess 6. Hogsmeade Village 7. Fawkes 8 Buildable Harry and Hermione
