    LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion

I have always thought Ninjago has the best minifigure designs of recent years, and these are no exception. As for sets: 70621: Pretty good for an impulse set, and an easy way to get that amazing villain armor piece. Probably getting this. 70622: Meh. The orange guy looks pretty cool, but Jay's bike looks off to me. Probably pass. 70623: Cool build, but not enough villain to suit my needs. Maybe get this one. 70624: Definitely grabbing this. Cool baddies, cool Zane, reasonable build, looks fairly cheap. 70625: QUOI? A new Samurai? The gorgon looks pretty dope, too. Probably picking this one up. 70626: What can I say? I love me some mecha. 70627: Dragon looks awesome, Kai and Nya's parents are a nice addition, but it looks too expensive for me. Pass.

I haven't seen it either, but I read somewhere that it's just a new face print. That said, if anyone has pics, please share them?

The best part of this is I can now own the entirety of Riddler's team from LEGO Batman 1, which was basically my childhood.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

From the presence of the mayor, the Commish, Barbara, and Dick in formal wear, I'm assuming Clayface and Scuttler are an attack on Barbara's ceremony from the fourth trailer.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

So, with all of these sets being revealed, my wishlist, such as it is, consists of the Lowrider, the Scuttler, Balloonies, and Mr. Freeze. Penguin's Limo sounds good, but I'll wait until prices are revealed. Any word on where we can get non-prison Two-Face?

Oh my gosh, I need ALL the figures. Too bad all the sets are lackluster and/or way too expensive.

It's a shame Poison Ivy is only in the really expensive sets; that hair would look stupendous on some of my Steampunk figs.

Here we go: Dwarf King "For this great victory, we shall FEAST! And in celebration of a magnificent feast, we shall FEAST! And to prove the dwarven superiority of the post-feast nap, we shall FEAST..." As the king of the ancient, subterranean kingdom of the dwarves, the Dwarf King has a lot to do. Run the mines, make the axes, fight the goblins, brag to the elves about how great dwarves are... and of course, plan feasts, because if there is a single thing the Dwarf King loves more than axes, gold, or gold axes, it's feasts. Feasts keep up morale, fuel the troops for the inevitable next battle, and they are darn good. It is a very good thing the Dwarf King has a great many vassals and majordomos to remind him of his royal duties, or else he would never leave his mile-long banquet table! Porridge Eater "Too hot, too cold, too thin, too lumpy, too sweet, too bland!" The Porridge Eater fancies herself a gourmand of oatmeal, perennially searching for that legendary "just right" bowl. Everyone else, however, fancies her as insufferably picky. It got to the point where a family of bears, who found the Porridge Eater endlessly sampling their storage of porridge, threw her out of their house just to stop the endless nitpicking. Too bad for her, 'cause she was this close to finding her perfect serving... Galactic Explorer "Oh, Axle, your eyes shine like the light of a million stars." If love is in the air, then surely there's even more love in space! At least, that's what the Galactic Explorer thinks. A hopeless romantic, she joined the LEGO Space program in the hopes of finding true love amongst the stars. No matter how many times she foolishly embarrasses herself, or throws herself in harm's way for some hunk to save her, she's still a firm believer in her philosophy. After all, countless sci-fi B-movies can't be wrong about this, can they? Grim Reaper "Sᴏ. Iᴛ ɪs ᴛɪᴍᴇ ғᴏʀ ᴜs ᴛᴏ ᴡᴀʟᴋ ᴛᴏɢᴇᴛʜᴇʀ ᴀᴛ ʟᴀsᴛ. Dᴏ ɴᴏᴛ ʙᴇ ᴀғʀᴀɪᴅ. Fᴏʟʟᴏᴡ ᴍᴇ, ᴡᴇ sʜᴀʟʟ ᴡᴀʟᴋ ᴀɴᴅ ᴛᴀʟᴋ." Many people think the Grim Reaper as a soulless being who comes to reap the lives of sinners. This is not the case. In fact, the Grim Reaper is rather nice; a bit dead inside, sure, but he never has any malice towards anyone. When a poor minifigure dies, it is the Grim Reaper who comes to escort their soul to the next life, and help them adjust to their new situation. He does get a bit sad from time to time as the deceased plead for the comfort of their loved ones, but such is the "life" of a Grim Reaper. Lawyer "Your honor, I must object. The defendant claims she did not steal these two bricks, but two is only six away from eight, and a fire truck has eight wheels, and a fire truck is red, and a red face is a sign of dishonesty, so the defendant is OBVIOUSLY lying! Obviously." In the field of LEGO law and order, no one is more adroit, or successful, than the humble Lawyer. No matter what, she has a nearly-flawless record. Which is odd, because by all accounts the Lawyer is completely and totally insane. All her "defenses" are barely legitimate non sequiturs, and any "lawsuit" is an overblown demand for compensation for a petty (or even nonexistent) grievance. Not a soul knows how the Lawyer keeps her excellent track record, though her opponents often suspect pity on the part of the judge... Parrot Guy "Avast, little mateys! It be yer best friend, the Parrot Guy! This is what me life has become..." Let's face it, piracy is a dying career. What's a mate to do when all his career opportunities are being squelched by the Coast Guard, the Emperor, or some other authority? For the Parrot Guy, the answer was simple: go into the rich and fulfilling field of children's party entertainment. The first time the Parrot Guy tried a party, he realized that this was a very big mistake indeed. The screaming, the messes, the chaos, the pain...it was worse than mutiny! If only he hadn't sunk his life savings into obtaining the best parrot costume booty can buy; now he's stuck 'till he can earn back his gold. Baker "Ooh, that's gonna be a good one!" For the Baker, simply smelling the fragrance of his work is job satisfaction for him. You can keep the happy faces, the excellent profit, the delicious flavors; all the Baker needs to get up at an unholy hour tomorrow is that sweet, oaky bread smell. And not just bread, either; from danishes to cookies to pies, a veritable cornucopia of aromas await the Baker as soon as those ovens open. Toy Army Man "................................................." The Toy Army Man is just that: a toy. Of course, that doesn't stop him from creating great military strategies whenever his owner pulls him, and his identical brothers-in-arms, out for a playdate. Or wistfully imagining the real battles he could orchestrate if he were a real soldier. If only he could move, he could send a letter to a "Robotics Engineer" he overheard about; maybe he could make the Toy Army Man a real, battle-ready body. Until then, the Toy Army Man is ready and willing to serve his owner wherever they decide he shall fight.

I'm gonna get dibs on Dwarf King (Motivation to post my own series with this guy waning), Porridge Eater, Galactic Explorer, Grim Reaper, Lawyer, Parrot Guy, Baker, and Toy Army Guy's bios, which will be written tomorrow, as it's pretty late on my end. Excellent work, Rob!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 16 Rumors and Discussion

So, after weeks of waiting, I found my Fred Meyer's stock. They were in the baby toys aisle, alongside the mixels, which are a bit more understandable. There were only 7 left, but I did manage to snag a Rogue, a Spy, and a Spooky Boy.

Alright, here's my side of the Eggyslav agreement: Kayaker "Dangit, not again!" The Kayaker has a quandary. Like his brother [Friend? Partner? You okay wit dis, Rob?] the Lifesaver Guy, the Kayaker loves the water more than anything. However, also like the Lifesaver Guy, he lacks a crucial skill for water enjoyment; in this case, balance. No matter how hard he tries, he simply cannot keep his kayak upright. Luckily, he doesn't mind getting a bit wet, though the constant tipping has started to get on his nerves. Toymaker "Oh, Min lilla vän, you vill make some little boy or girl so very happy!" The Toymaker has been the toymaker at his little mountain village for longer than most people live there. And as such, he knows all the things the children love, and thus, how to make the perfect toy for them. He also makes sure he stays up to date of the trends and memes of the time, just to be safe. One thing he does not abide is people being mean to children, or children being sad; as he has several grandchildren of his own, he has quite a bit of love for children of all ages. Ski Patrol "Don't worry, just grab my hand and you'll be okay!" The Mountain Climber is the one usually called in when things get hairy. But when an urgent emergency requires quick action, the Ski Patrol is never far off. On her lightning-fast skis, and packing tons of survival stuff in her backpack, her helmeted face is a welcome sight for sore eyes. With over 30 rescues logged, the Ski Patrol is a true hero of the mountains. Tambourine Player "Oi! We may be uncomfortable, but does not mean we cannot be happy! I play you tambourine song!" The Tambourine Player knows just how to liven the mood of an evening. Which is good news, because all of his families' evenings are spent on the road, around a campfire, near their caravan. Even though the Tambourine Player loves to play his tambourine for his kids, his kids don't always appreciate it. This is mostly because it was the Tambourine Player's idea to go on that stupid caravan road trip. But they will admit that the Tambourine Player's music does sometimes help the discomfort. Moon Goddess "You stay here. Hunting is woman's work." When her sister deals with warriors and battle, the Moon Goddess deals with nature, hunting, and --you guessed it-- the moon. In fact, she's kinda angry that she's only called the Moon Goddess, due to her many domains. Another thing that makes her angry is men. In her experience, men have been nothing but trouble; defiling her woods, polluting her night sky...it's gotten to the point where she only lets girls into her sacred hunting group. Ladybug Girl "Tee-hee, guess I'm just lucky!" Did you know that ladybugs are a good luck charm? The Ladybug Girl does! Ever since she put on her special ladybug costume, her good luck and the luck of everyone around her increased drastically. Now she's finding shiny pennies, The Leprechaun, and countless four-leaf clovers. She even managed to catch Mr. Gold, a feat that would otherwise be downright miraculous! [i couldn't resist] Emperor "Alright, comrades! For ze empire! CHARGE!" The Emperor rules the Bluecoat Naval Empire with an iron fist. From the helm of his Imperial Flagship, he slowly conquers the seas, one pirate ship or outpost at a time. But there is a truly devious mind behind the Emperor's diplomatic facade; each area of land conquered means one step closer to his ultimate goal of WORLD DOMINATION! However, his current plan--to conquer the Monster Realm and use it to build his army--does not seem to be doing well. For the sake of the world, let's hope he fails.
