Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

Got the "Beware the Vulture" set. Fun little set, all things considered... Except for the price tag! Found it at Wal*Mart. Despite the same box size and fewer parts from the Detroit Steel set, it rang up for $40, what the heck?!

Post your LEGO MCU Vulture Wings MODs here!

I'm actually pretty okay with the Nexo Knight shields myself. It gave the pack a kind of Metal Gear Solid 4 vibe that I was really digging. I don't envy the guy who had to design the flight pack for this set. The challenge was already bad enough keeping the thing somewhat close to minfig scale, but the thruster's complicated design and articulation creates a problem that forces you to chose between making the whole thing completely static, or compromising the overall look to give it articulation. I'm not completely satisfied with how mine came out, but I don't think there's much more that can be done and still be poseable and in-scale with the rest of the line.

    Speed Champions Alternates

These all look so great! Will we be seeing more now that the 2016 sets are out? :)
  4. Without knowing when these sequence takes place in the movie, coupled with with what has been shown in the trailers, I would imagine Rhodey suffers extensive injuries at some point, and Stark saves him with cybernetic enhancements. It would not be at all inaccurate to the character, as this was how he looked around the time period after Civil War in the comics.

    Lego Ninjago 2016

Just a heads up: The new Ninjago wave is starting to show up stateside. I went to the Wal*Mart near my office before work this morning. It's one of the older ones that isn't a 24-hour store, so they have to do their restocks during the early part of the day. Anyhoo, I saw a cart full of unopened Lego cases. A closer look at the label revealed them to be Jay's Elemental Dragon and the Raid Zepplin, as well as the Black Panther Chase Civil War set. All of them were plastered with "Do Not Open Before March 1st, 2016" stickers though, so it would stand to reason that they will not be able to ring up at the register right now.
  6. Would Lego even be able to replace it at this point? I haven't seen the kit locally anywhere for a while.
  7. Hello all, I joined this forum in the hopes that someone among you might be able to help with a problem that has developed with my General Grievous minifig (the one included with set 75040, Greivous' Wheel Bike). I bought the set the summer after it came out, and from the moment of its completion, he's been on display in my room, up until earlier this month when I made the discovery. I picked up the figure from its spot on the shelf, and it fell apart in my hands almost immediately. All of the C-joints on the arms and neck have simply stopped locking in place, and come loose from the peg with little provocation. The legs, for some weird reason, have not succumbed to the same fate that befell the upper torso parts. Additional observations only further add to the confusion, since: The figure was rock solid at the time of assembly It had barely been posed Its position in my room kept it from being exposed to natural light, as well as most of the white lighting in my room. The room is almost always kept at a temperature of around 72-75F There are no stress marks or other indicators of warping of the c-joints on any of the parts involved. Now I'm no stranger to action figure customizing, but my normal tricks for heating and re-shaping plastic go out the door with ABS involved, especially at this size. The simplest solution would be to introduce a glue or epoxy to thicken either the c-joint or the connection pegs, but I'm afraid that if the parts haven't been stretched out, doing something like this most assuredly would. Has anyone ever experience a problem like this, or know of a safer way to make repairs? I'd rather not have to go through the hassle of replacing this minifigure. Thanks in advance for any insight you could provide!
  8. Hello! New to the boards, and I just wanted to introduce myself on this gloomy July day :D EDIT: LOL, I'm apparently kicking things off with a horrendous Thread Title typo. Great to be here, everyone!
