  1. Great video. As echoed by other members, I am also curious on how to make such video.
  2. This should generate lots (hopefully >= 20) variants of set 42056 that should increase the rebuild value of that set :).
  3. hi @smdzucladoc, glad to hear that the mods available in this thread so far really make it a better car. I don't have my copy to try all these yet. And the red circle in your picture: usually the reason of putting that thing around a differential is this: so that people do not put the differential in wrong position (forward becomes reverse and reverse becomes forward).
  4. @supertechnicman: Wah that is a simple but good fix :). I also don't like the 1->2->3 (after reversing the gears)->4->1->... gear shift and this should fix it.
  5. Well, if you use Google Search of "Lego 42056" and restrict the result to "the past 24 hours" now (25 May, 4.42pm SGT), you will already able to see some very detailed building sequence of the chassis... I am liking what I see as I have never built Technic supercar of this scale (8070 and all other previous Technic supercars were released before I return from dark age and have some disposable income for this hobby). Apparently it will be 549 SGD here according to one local/Singapore Lego Certified store (397 USD/357 Euro...) and available by end of June. To quote Kumbbl last post, I will rely on other outstanding technic MOCers out there to improve whatever negative stuffs of this set, like Leviathan's other post about better sequential gearbox (thanks :D). To build such MOCs/MODs based on 42056 (I don't have that many orange elements), I will need at least one 42056 set, so here goes my 549 SGD Lego...
  6. MRP_, when you reply, there is an image ^^ button (second row of the toolbar). Paste the URL of the image there. Then you have: Looks like sticker 3B is this Leipzig track. <edit: Apparently it is not: So it is Weissach> And since there is 3A (that is put in center dashboard), it seems that sticker 3B is to give alternative for people who wants to put their Porsche to "race". No wonder sticker 13 shows 325 kmh and sticker 14 shows full throttle. For sticker no 4, can someone who knows Porsche (or German) tell me what "D" means?. N should be Neutral and R should be Reverse, but what is "D"?
  7. Promobricks posted this sticker sheet recently, so now we know which some parts are printed and some others are not. Source: http://www.promobricks.de/lego-technic-911-gt3-rs-42056-kommt-nicht-ohne-aufkleber-aus/16210 (I don't speak German). Edit: Beaten by detox. PS: I try to find 9L orange beam but cannot find it for sure yet, so this rare beam should remain rare even if there exists 1 or 2 in this set. My suspicion is the 9L orange beam is 2 studs below the supposed placement of GT3RS sticker no 12 but that part is obscured by other panel so I cannot be sure..
  8. Yeah, so either: 1. The one presenting the video made a mistake (forgot to put failsafe stop for 4th gear) so that downshifts can be down only until first gear and he apparently can do 7 upshifts... Or... 2. Lego did not put any failsafe and the apparent failed downshifts are just some technicalities... that means gears can be changed like this 1->2->3->4->1 (hm??) ->2->3->4 (7 upshifts) and also we can do 4->3->2->1->4 (hm?) -> 3->2->1 ?? I prefer that it is no 1... :O
  9. Hi all The Porsche gearshift video from Autobild has not been posted here recently. Here is the link: After several downshifts, it seems that the one showing this demo cannot do downshift anymore but he can do more than 4 upshifts? Can those with more experience with such system explains what happen?
  10. Hi all, I replayed the recently published designer video in slow motion ( ) and puzzled with something at 1m13s->1m18s when Andrew quickly flipped through the coffee table book.Concentrate at the pages... certain pictures and words are repeated :O. Maybe the book content has not been finalised and the one shown is a demo copy only? I hope the thickness is NOT because the content is repeated in multiple languages? :O.
  11. XL motor will be used again in the upcoming 42055 - BWE.
  12. After ~2 days of dismantling my previous form of 42009 set (http://www.designer-han.nl/lego/cranetruck_42009c.htm) and rebuilding it into this MrTekneex's D model, here are my feedback for others who want to try: -. First, lots of thanks for creative people out there who provide BIs (paid or free) out of one set. This gives additional value for the set as buying (additional) parts from BrickLink to build a MOC is not yet that popular in the place where I live (Singapore). With "one-set-MOC" like this, I know for sure that I have all the required parts (with precise part colors) without having to buy additional parts :). PS: MrTekneex, Designer Han, or anyone else who read this. I just bought the 42043 set. I know that there are many MB Arocs variants out there but no proper BIs yet. If you are planning to build C or D or E model out of set 42043, you have the guarantee of my future BI purchase :). -. 42009 set is indeed quite versatile. With this one set alone, I have build (and rebuild) it into: a. The default A model: Mobile Crane b. B model: Reach Stacker + Container c. MrTekneex C model, Flatbed Tow Truck d. This MrTekneex D model, Car Transporter Truck e. Designer Han's C model, Crane Truck, http://www.designer-han.nl/lego/cranetruck_42009c.htm f. Low Loader, http://bricksafe.com/pages/jb70/42009-tieflader/intructions, g. Helicopter, http://bricksafe.com/files/dave_harv/helicopter/Helicopter%20instructions.pdf h. Forklift, http://bricksafe.com/files/Dalafik/Heavy%20Duty%20Forklift/HeavyDutyForklift.ldr (in building pipeline) For me, the cost of a set is the number of 100% models that I can build with that set, so although set 42009 is expensive, the cost is now 1/8 of the original cost :). -. This MrTekneex D model (Car Transporter Truck) is a complex build (gearbox for 5 motorized functions with gears rotating in various orientations, that's fascinating :O), the 11 Euro really worth the build time if you already have set 42009 and don't mind disassembling ~2000+ parts. Building instruction is clear, already a step better than MrTekneex C model BI (of last year) that was also equally good. The 5 motorized functions work well except two: The tilting of extra rack has to be done before tilting cab (obviously, otherwise they crash into each other) and the issue of lowering of upper deck. For the lowering of upper deck, there is already a warning in the BI that this function has to be used properly (can only be used when the upper deck is straight at the top and two switches have to be positioned correctly otherwise the parts involving two worm gears will likely force those who are familiar with Lego Technic to quickly turn off the battery box --- some parts will likely break otherwise). This fifth function is very hard to get right :O... However, the upper deck cannot be really lowered fully though, so actually a car needs "help" to get out from the upper deck after it is lowered (fade to black at minute 3:30 of MrTekneex's video). As I never see the real Car Transporter actually unloads it's cargo, I have to Google around to see how it really works. I found this and it seems that the function of lowering upper deck in straight position is not actually needed as long as you can tilt the upper deck?Anyway, although the Car Transporter Truck width is 19 studs, there are 2 studs width pillars at the back (on left and right side), so technically you can only squeeze "Lego Cars" that have 15 studs width (very tight) or smaller. I think it should be possible to rearrange the beams that form the pillars so that the maximum car width that can go in is wider. My only test bed is 42026 small F1 car (13 studs width). That one fits. Of course 42035 Mining Truck shown in MrTekneex video clearly fits. So in conclusion If you already have set 42009 (assembled or not) and don't have plan (or budget) to buy another flagship set anytime soon, then just spend additional 11 Euro to buy the BI and give yourself "yet another flagship model" from a set that you already own :). If you don't have set 42009 and considering to buy it, go ahead. It's price is currently (whatever price in your country)/8 so far :).
  13. Very timely review Jim. My wife has just surprised me by giving me this set a few days ago and I have just built the A model two days ago and B model yesterday. I agree with all that you wrote above. I don't have Tumbler tires but I have 9398 tires. Driving is smooth but steering + suspension will be bad as you said due to negative caster and tires hitting the chassis. Anyway, tonight I will destroy the B model and rebuilt this http://www.busterhau...8-c-model.html.
  14. Hi Eurobrick members, I am a long time lurker in this forum and this is my first post. I have put 42043 in my wish list since the first time rumours of it appears last December 2014, but I am under strict Lego set purchase control by my wife so I can only get 42043 when the year changes to 2016 . Yesterday I spotted this new challenge about THE Mercedes-Benz Truck of the future design competition from rebrick.lego.com: http://rebrick.lego.com/en-US/BottomMenu/Blog/08032015-technic-competition.aspx Seems that no one has posted this information yet so maybe this link will be useful for other master builders out there. Regards, AFOL from Singapore
