I really dont like the new wheels but the fact we have had 4 trains in two years is to be applauded. There is some impact this hobby is having because they are doing more trains that I can recall in the previous 10 years. I also took a crack at making some instructions available to add powered up to this locomotive. You can find them here: https://bricktraindepot.com/free-downloads

I have built a few dozen train cars myself and sold instructions in the hundreds all using the turn table and no issues at all.

The developer has abandon this project. I would suggest switching the Studio from BrickLink -

[Software] Blueprint, a building instruction generator for LDD
supertruper1988 replied to msx80's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
It can but I would recommend that you save each group of your large model as its own file and then import each file into studio otherwise all 20k pieces will be a jumbled mess. -

(Solved) Blue Brick Help / Manual / instructions/ ??
supertruper1988 replied to knotian's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
What are you looking to know? Its pretty simple. Drag parts onto the layout and put them on different layers if you want. -
I really like this! Any chance you can support SBrick and PFx brick as well? I know there is another project out there that can do it all but it is windows 10 only so I was looking for something I can use on my mac and win 7 PC's Also would it be possible to use the computer as a hub of sorts where it takes control inputs from the PUp remote and then relays that to a specific train? This would be more inviting for play but you could also setup the buttons on the remote to do other stuff like throw switches for operations. I know you have a lot in the works but I really like where this is all headed!

Im sure @Lowa can correct me but I am pretty sure that this is designed as an add-on to the modular switch system so the position of the throw is easily ordered on the other side.

macOS 10.15 Catalina and LDD ?
supertruper1988 replied to M2m's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
LDD is dead and no longer developed by LEGO. I recommend moving to LDCad or to Studio. -
Dont you know that you are supposed to go in via the roof!?!?!? ahahahaha! I too, find it annoying that the resemblance of doors even if foregone in LEGO sets.

Instruction Format orientation question
supertruper1988 replied to knotian's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
i only do landscape pages. It fits better on a screen and when printed, it is nice to have that length for long models. If I was doing tall models a lot I would maybe consider portrait for print applications but for digital distribution, I would still do landscape. -

Stud.io Noob Questions
supertruper1988 replied to BrickMonkeyMOCs's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I mentioned earlier that the page resolution is messed up so setting page size by pixels instead of centimeters or inches and then using a layout software such as Adobe InDesign produces much better results. -

Macabricks file storage question
supertruper1988 replied to knotian's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
They use the LDraw Library so you can add any parts that are in the tracker and even those that you make yourself. Its very cross-compatible. In fact, for any of the instructions commissions I take, I do not use the built in page make. I only use the step editor to get the steps then export to LDraw and use LPub3D to layout the pages. -
Macabricks file storage question
supertruper1988 replied to knotian's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
My point exactly. There is a free version that you can use all day for personal use. If you want to buy the features, there is that option too. Heck they could even just deliver a mostly bug free solution that I have to pay to upgrade every few years and I would be happy with that too. I would use mecabricks, if my goal was just building/rendering and not instruction making. -

Macabricks file storage question
supertruper1988 replied to knotian's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I understand that tho. I have AutoCAD as a student but I cannot use it to produce a drawing for a commercial project. That costs more. Studio is similar in that they want people to design for personal purposes and order from the website. It will have a bunch of great features for that purpose. In order to support the needs of someone doing instructions or models for commercial gain, they want to offer more features tailored to that user type and they want to charge for it. More like "Hey, Leonardo, thanks for buying our brush and doing whatever you want with it" vs "Hey, Leonardo, you borrowed that brush and without it you, couldn't have painted the Mona Lisa so we dont want you to sell that painting" -
Macabricks file storage question
supertruper1988 replied to knotian's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Ok this doesnt bother me at all then. They have a free tool that they want everyone to use and it generates more bricklink orders, of which they get a cut of the money. Then they want to have a commercial version for folks to use for making instructions. It does not affect my work flow at all. I am happy to support more features and me being a paying customer hopefully gives my requests and needs a higher priority. -

Can you give me a link to the commercial version posts? I am interested to read them for myself.
