maybe

btw, the new head is arrived and works like a charm. The material is PA12 in a multi jet fusion print looks good, but the versatile plastic in SLS is much more solid. One of the towballs is broken.

This weekend i will make the 5 blade version of the flat rotorhead.

edit: the 5 blade is available at shapeways: https://www.shapeways.com/product/EHWVBDXJB/flat-5-blade-rotorhead

@efferman that is incredible.  Very nice. And I love that you colored the top.   I will watch the progress of your large bird with anticipation, and likely will purchase one of these rotors.  But I have to complete my version of the Airbus first.  I am trying to incorporate your swashplate into it, along with some other changes I am making, but it will take a while as things in my own career and family have sped up.....

Very coool!  Is this going to be implemented in the new bird you are working on?

I guess, yes

  Keep us posted.  I am curious how you will carry the collective out that far.   Taking both power and collective out the length of the tail to the tail rotor will be a challenge....

Found some time to finish an instruction.

Great work again, impressive build. I don't fully understand why there are two motors; I expected the movement of the axles and the hitch assembly to be coupled via a linkage. Or did I miss something?

There are three motors. One L for the Kingpin Lift, one L for the axle lift, and one M for the parking stand.

The king pin lift and the axle lift are not connected because there are different fifth wheel heights, which makes an adjustment neccessary.

Why don't you buy yourself an FDM or cheap resin printer?

Most hobbyist printers couldn't print anything that long in one piece, I don't think (though the awesome conveyor belt ones could!) Though I do think standard printers are very worth the money to people with uses for them.

Then just design it in two snap-together parts

Great work as always Effe. I'm interested in building a heli-rotor with both collective/cyclic. Your shapeways page shows few options.

What parts are required to build a 4 (or 6) rotor system?

Thank You.

Kidneys are overrated.  This looks awesome.

Thank you very much. I just ordered them, along with your Torsen differential. The holidays will include some Lego time :)

One more question. What parts I need to support the blades? I'm thinking something similar to this Lego part, with more attachment options.

Use the same system like in the 42145.

Made a little bit on the sikorsky front.
