john cleese Posted February 8, 2006 I dont know where else to put this. Anyway ive stumbled on this collection of lego models based on M.C. escher's lithographs. I just wanted to know what you guys think of these. Personally i think they are awsome and aspire to one day build one.
Starwars4J Posted February 8, 2006 Actually, this would probably go in the "Your Own Creations" forum...at least that's where I put it when I posted this a few weeks ago The original topic is here and is the website of the person who actually made them, along with the backstory to it all. Quite an interesting read!
Mister Phes Posted February 8, 2006 Yes, Mr Starwars4J is correct as Eschers work is not old enough for the forum, which is described as "... everything till 1900". Escher being born in 1898 would have been too young to create anything in the 19th century and given he didn't attend secondary school till 1912 he probably didn't create anything of merit until that time. Furthermore his artistic career didn't start until 1922 so that's over 1/5 of the way into the 20th century. The threads could be merged... Or I could leave this one here and see if it attracts any new responses that the other thread didn't gain, and then merge them.
john cleese Posted February 8, 2006 that would be great! I posted it here because the actual lithographs are based on fictional surrealist world, which doesnt appear to be very technologically advanced.
Mister Phes Posted February 12, 2006 Anyone got any last comments on these MOCs based on Escher's work? This is the first and last time I'm bumping this thread to the top...
zanna Posted November 27, 2015 Hi guys, I'm happy to show you my last render of my re-creation: Hand With Reflecting Sphere (by M.C. Escher) (1935). Hope you'll like it!
KlodsBrik Posted November 27, 2015 Thats just an awesome recreation of Eschers original. I love Eschers work, but have never made any LEGO based builds inspired by him myself though ive thought about it a lot. That is just beautiful indeed. Im stunned ! Captain Dee Posted November 27, 2015 Escher!! The sphere is a very good Lego version of the original, but I must confess my favorite is "Relativity" at the top of the page.
SerenityInFire Posted November 29, 2015 That bottom one reminds me of that puzzle from God of War 3.
