Here's the Shifting Subway, a diorama I built for the Bricklink Designer Program Series 1: And in the brick: Turning the crank moves the subway car back and forth. When it passes the station, the scenery at the station changes: The mechanism is fairly straightforward: trip pins on the subway car catch the scenery as it goes by, moving it. As a result the size of the platform is limited: Some notes from the design phase: I built this because I didn't enjoy working on the original idea I had. I threw this together in 3 or so weeks, scaling down an idea for displaying a future model. The hope here is to enjoy working on something I like, even if it's less popular.
