Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Loved NWH but the lack of merchandise definitely still surprises me. Pretty much everything I can see companies wanting to make was in the trailers with Toby and Andrew being the only exception, which is funny as it's probably Hollywoods worst kept secret ever. Looking forward to potential extra sets!

Regarding the polybag, definitely one of the best polybags they've made. Love to see the Upgraded suit at an even lower pricepoint, the Tower Bridge shield is cool and the drone (in particular the stickers) is neat for what it is.

Despite being hyped for NWH, I honestly didn’t believe the film would amaze me the way it did. I haven’t walked out of a cinema smiling from ear to ear in a long time.

Not making additional NWH sets would be a massive misfire on Lego’s part, so I hope that Fulcrum’s rumour regarding two additional sets bears fruit this summer (and that the FFH polybag doesn’t count as one of them!). The lack of any spoilerific merchandise is a shame, but I also wonder what the situation has been with licensees for this film, and can’t help recalling what happened with The Mandalorian, where Lego, Hasbro et al. didn’t know of Grogu’s existence until the first episode aired. Or perhaps licensees already been made privy to spoilers but can’t release merchandise until a certain date? I certainly hope it’s the latter, maybe things just haven’t leaked out because of extra tight security.

Another thing benefitting this mythical spoiler wave is that for the most part, I can’t imagine any characters outside of Lizard requiring specialised pieces. I’m hopeful Lego go all out on Peter #2 and Peter #3 with dual-moulded legs and printed arms.

God, just loved that film. I anticipate we’ll start receiving merchandise reveals from the likes of Hasbro and Funko at least over the next couple of weeks.

I wouldn't worry about a lack of NWH sets now. Neither Funko nor Hasbro, two companies that usually make most of the characters from Marvel movies, have released any toys of the spoiler characters yet. I think we should be worried if Lego makes no announcements even after Funko and Hasbro have already revealed their merchandise.

and as far as funko goes, we already know the villains are coming based on that leaked list that came out awhile back. Lego has to see the gold mine here

There's a reason that the merchandise was so limited. Tom Holland said in an interview a few weeks ago that the original plan was to only market the film as a civil war between Spidey and Dr. Strange. That plan changed later on, assuming because of the leaks and comments from actors like Foxx and Molina.

Man, looking at the NWH wave after seeing the movie, I'm whelmed. Might not get any of them honestly and just Bricklink the Spidey suits. The Sanctum set is boring since its too similar to the 2016 set that was already made irrelevant by the improved 2018 building. I have no use for a giant drone or Juniors-style vehicles, and I'm pretty fine with my 2017 Vulture. Definitely getting the polybag though, love the cheap FFH suit and the drone is much more movie-accurate than what we got before.

The obvious choice for a set is the one we knew before the movie, the Statue of Liberty. I almost want to wonder if that's the rumored $500 set?

A few more comments I'll spoiler tag just in case:

Spoiler

Gotta love that the three Spider-Man suits that basically defined this wave ended up all being the same suit! There was so much speculation over the black and gold suit that I almost laughed when they revealed that it's just the normal suit inside out. After seeing it in film, I think the minifig should have been dark grey or gunmetal instead of black, but most merchandise of that suit is black so that was probably a concept art issue.

Also need to have a minifig of that final suit!

I don't think we will get that final suit as a minifig, it was only in the film for a minute and we didn't get the best look at it

Yeah, that's true.

Funko is usually the first one to release spoiler merchandise for a movie or a series, yet here we are, with nothing.

That's why I wouldn't worry about LEGO for now.

Honestly after the teaser and Marvel Legends reveals for Multiverse of Madness I'm even more pissed off about LEGO's decision to make just 1 small set for what is arguably one of Marvel's most exciting movies. Even if we just got 1 more set we could've gotten another variant of Strange along with characters like Mordo, Rintrah and that beautiful new Scarlet Witch costume (changes 100% justify a new figure).

The surprising amount of Black Panther sets, a movie I've seen barely anyone get excited about, compared to the barebones Strange and Thor coverage better be justified :hmpf_bad:

I wonder if Spider-Man comic sets will be made for this summer, though I would love if they actually made Across the Spiderverse sets, based on the film. But if they make comic sets I hope they stop making those ugly vehicles, atleast the Ghost Rider car made sense. X Men is what I would love to get aswell. And the 10 year anniversary of the marvel theme is this year, this could be a rich year for Lego Marvel.

New info about 2022 sets, thanks to Stone Wars and Brickmerge:

 • 76215, the mystery set number, is a 250€ D2C. That means it has to be the Hulkbuster D2C.

 • 76209, the 100€ March set, is actually 120€.

Cool, thanks. And this is without the summer wave. I hope we get some nice aets in the summer for the anniversary of the theme.

On Wakanda Forever, Namor is rumoured to be the nad guy and Atlantis is said to be more Maya inspired in this film, it would be cool if we get a Maya Atlantis like temple set for the theme. Also, I guess one small set will be the two cars that we saw from the set pics, I think one is a dodge.

Marvel's official website now has Tobey and Andrew's Spidey on it.. don't know if that means anything yet but we'll see if we get another wave.
https://www.marvel.com/characters/friendly-neighborhood-spider-man
https://www.marvel.com/characters/the-amazing-spider-man

This also confirms how they'll handle the naming situation, especially when we get three of them in a single LEGO set.

Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man and Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

Do they have enough space on the box for that? :laugh_hard: They could also number them, like they did in the film itself

Ah yes, but I would like if they keep it like this for Andrew: The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

So now the only new design that hasn't been officially revealed outside of the movie itself is

Spoiler

Peter's new Toby & Andrew inspired comic suit.

I wonder if we'll get toys for this suit. It had seconds of screen time, and we didn't even get a clear look at it.

I could see a Funko POP perhaps, definitely not LEGO minifigure tho. We'll have to wait at least two years for that.

I can see Hasbro make a Marvel Legends figure. That design will get milked by other companies. Take Bumblebee movie for example, this year we will get all the Cybertron scene Transformers as figures.

To be fair, you could easily use the 2021 comic Spider Man figure. The logo is a bit bigger in film, but other than that they're practically identical

Sure, but just because it looks similar doesn't mean it's the same.

Still should be $100

Another set that's for some reason 20€ pricier than the American equivalent? :ugh:

When do you think we'll know something about this set? It's the only March set after the January ones, so I guess it should be soon enough.

I have a feeling that they’ll just call all of them “spider-man” on the box
