Well there's certainly many other harder programs to learn, but yeah, it probably is a bit too much if you're only doing a few renders...

Well I have spent the last couple of weeks playing around and getting to grips with the Mecabricks built in rendering feature. I have to say I'm really impressed. Once I got to grips with how it works I was able to churn out around 40 images of my latest moc and lego ideas project. I'm really pleased with how well the images came out and in my opinion Mecabricks provides the most realistic results of any other rendering system I've tried and it is also super fast.
