Aventador2004 Posted December 14, 2017 Hello scale modelers! I would like to show my Cat 297C model. I have had the ability to drive one of these once, and it was such a powerful, fun, and comfortable vehicle to drive. (This is not the one I drove) The model does not pose fully yet, I will make a version like that soon, but is a nice desk model. My Model: (lDD only so far. Hope you like it, I don't think it is perfect yet, but it could be.
BrickbyBrickTechnic Posted December 14, 2017 Nice track solution. On the other hand, the whole thing looks squished, like someone stepped on it. You could be more generous with the height.
Milan Posted December 14, 2017 Your Cat seems to be a bit too small for the SM forum. It looks like it is around 1:25 scale?

Sjoemie himself Posted December 15, 2017 (edited) Why is it that scale models should be 1:20 scale or larger? I myself am a scale model collecter and my scale models vary in size from 1:87 to 1:12. To me the criteria should be that if the model being built is 'to scale' (dimensions and appearance are on point) it should be considered a scale model, regardless in which scale it is built. To get back on topic, i would have to agree that the model looks a little too 'flat'. Milan Posted December 15, 2017 4 hours ago, Sjoemie himself said: Why is it that scale models should be 1:20 scale or larger? Hello Sjoemie, I am talking about Scale Modeling Forum, not about scale models in general. Recently we have concluded that a model should be at least 1:20 in order to be posted in SMF. Please check out SMF discussion topic there for more details. 1 hour ago, Aventador2004 said: Well then, I will make a larger one too. Maybe that will actually fit. Great. As long as it is 1:20 or larger, it will be okay.
