Ron Dayes Posted January 29, 2017 Hi there! This topic is going to be showing you a few car MOCs in a rather different approach to build small Lego cars. Intentionally building cars for minifigs to fit in, i never could get it right for the cars overall proportions. So i decided to just focus on the overall shape/design and left the figs out. Mathmatically i found out that 1/42 is the scale i wanted and i played around with that ;) I usually used to post some of these type of 1/42 scale cars in the town forum, but on further thought its not the right scale for typical "town" or "city" MOCs/Sets. So simply said, i dont think these should be in the "town forum" any longer... I will just call it "small scale" from now on and not "minifigure-" or "micro scale" as i did a year back, since they dont aim to fit minifigs or their surroundings and are bigger than 4 and 5 wide tiny turbo mocs. However, they happen to look good next to figs, so dont wonder if you will see some figs next to them for scale comparisson. I hope you enjoy this thread if you are into cars, i will frequently add in more models. Man with a hat Posted February 1, 2017 Well they are CITY enough for me. I really love your approach. I find it amazing they look so good making them in the "right" scale.

Hm yeah, allthough it would be needed to create a CIty universe around the cars in this case - most modulars dont really match its scale of 1/42 frankly... Was a long way of actually getting something small like that done, wouldnt have imagined that to be possible when i started 2 years ago^^ So now, even getting a smaller vehicle done, the Nissan 300 ZX. Its about 178 cm wide so i decided that 5 wide would be very suiting in that case, since full 5 studs = 170 cm, but 6 studs allready 200 cm. Not keen on making the inbetween scale^^ Nissan 300 ZX by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr Nissan 300 ZX by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr Nissan 300 ZX by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr
SirBlake Posted February 24, 2017 These are great. Amazing what you can accomplish in such a small scale.
