"Bamboo leaves" parts breaking

Recommended Posts

When I went through my old collection I noticed a lot of this part-

-having one or more of the leaves broken off. I've since then separated all the ones I could find to try to avoid more damage, but I'm wondering if anyone else had this experience, or a way of preventing it?

That part is very easy to break given how thin the stems are but apart from what you've already done (separating them out of a larger bin so that the leaves don't get damaged by other parts as you dig through them) I can't make any other recommendations.

All the soft plastic foliage parts are fragile to varying degrees. Take care in storage and also when removing them from builds to prevent breakage and white stress marks.

Yes, its happened to me a lot, though particularly with the older parts. I believe the newer versions of that part are a bit stronger.

Huh. I'd have thought that if anything, their softness would make them less prone to breakage than more rigid elements. I've never had one of those break, though I do tend to be careful with them.

They are in the PAB sections of lots of stores, I just bought extras, they get plenty abuse in the pick-a-brick bins as well though.
