I found this on Amazon.com. The book summary includes some 2009 names. So is this leaked?

I have seen the summary, it's actually not accurate -- there's no one named Vastus in that book. And it's not leaked, just put up for pre-order a little too early, given when it's due out.

Greg warned us many times)) I'm more confused with scrolls and other storyline things that with names. Everyone will shout that new names are bad (see Krika name discussion here when it was first revealed), but with time people get used to new names.

It's really hard not to believe that there will be gladiators theme. Looking at so frequently used word "fighter" in this description...

I do believe that at one point Greg said that they wouldn't be abandoning the name "Toa" because it gave brand recognition or something. Not sure, though...

Glatorians? I liked the BOHROK KAL and I hate this name. Hopefully the sets make up for it.

I think nobody expected Spanish Inquisition? That's Trinuma. He looks WAAY cooler than any of Toa Nuva Mistika.

I can't believe people still fall for that myth. He never said Makuta wasn't in Maxilos. Simple as that.

Darn, as usual, Adobe Acrobat reader isn't working well online, so I can't view the Trinuma instructions. Could someone please post a picture of the finished build so I can see it?

And BTW, Pencoin, Greg isn't a liar - he's just a very tricky guy when it comes to questions. He often says things that have double meanings - he once said that Mata Nui was not any one of the following - the island, the stone, or Metru Nui. However, now that we've seen the leaked video, we know he just meant "it is all of those thing and more, not just one." It's funny that some members think he's lying just because he doesn't give you the whole picture straight out.

Man, that pic IS awesome. I saved it so can oggle at it for a while, it's amazing.

I notice you have to build the rotating blade t hing. I thought it was one piece. That sucks.

I don't know if any one noticed, but all the Mistika Toa Masks have that thing that Ignika and Maxilos had, you put the rod in the mask and put it on the head. Blah.

The Mistika Makuta have odd heads IMO, I mean, joints with eyes? What is that? Gorast has a joint with Bohrok eyes on either side and the Mask over it. Krika has a joint with Barraki eyes on it and the Mask over it. Bitil's is probabbly the strangest with the Vahki head, his mask and then the eyes.

The new site looks pretty cool IMO as well. The video is interesting, the ends of Krika's blades are shown to be like claws, but that's just the CGI right?

I thought Gorast's mask went farther back on her head? Maybe I was looking at the original pictures wrong? IDK.

I also can't believe you have to build the Ghost Blaster either. And the build for it is too simple.

I saw the instructions for all six. They all have some fairly unique builds, which is pretty cool.

I still wish the piece on Gali's mask could flip down.

Then again, it's been a long time since he talked about knowing TSO's name, so this idea doesn't fit that much.

But yeah, it might really be bad.

I like Trinuma and I also like that no one is named Vastus. In that book, at least.....

Well, something like that (the quote's not exactly right, but mostly). And I think you have a good point about TSO.

BTW, I'm not understanding why people hate the name Vastus so much. I think it's way better than a lot of the bad names we've gotten lately, and for some reason it gives me a mysterious feeling. Besides, if this was the name of the character, I think most would have rather had this than "Vorzzisk" or something.

Funny, because I could tell that it was several pieces right away. Why is this such a bad thing? It makes it a lot easier to MOC when the molds aren't all one big POOP.

BTW, now that the Summer 2008 instructions are up on the official site, I naturally looked at all of them. And man, the big vehicles are looking simply AMAZING. This is mainly because they are just as complex - if not more - as the famed Muaka and Kane-Ra, and the Bahrag. It's wonderful that we're getting super sized and super complex technic builds in Bionicle again. Who cares if they're vehicles and not Rahi? I'm sure anyone who enjoyed building the aformentioned Rahi kits back years ago will probably enjoy building all the complex assembilies and features of the new vehicle line.

Oh, and the rest of the lineup is looking about the same. As I though, Takanuva is a lot different from most of the titans we have gotten in the last few years - should be an enjoyable build. Vultraz is looking decent - but needs some serious beef on the bones - and Mazeka is wonderful. The Canister sets... I've talked about them so much that I don't really have anything else to say.

Oh, and stay tuned - I'll be posting my Vamprah mod very shortly! Here it is!

Personally, I disliked Vamprah at first, but now I've really grown to like him. However, there's still one major problem with the kit - the wings are very poorly designed. I mean, why are they sticking out the back of his hands? ALso, it simply doesn't look that great without some way to move the wings move around separately. So, I took the wings and attached them to a ball joint connector, and then attached that to the back of his elbows. I also gave him some better claws so the hands wouldn't look slightly bare.

I do love the builds of those vehicles, but what made the Rahi & early robots so attractive was, IMO, that they both had ingenious construction AND awesome looks. To me, these flying things frankly look bland. What'd be much more interesting would be Rahi-like vehicles, like the Vahki Transport -- with wings, legs, and such features. Which is why I love the Swamp Strider so much -- it resembles a giant beast with a turret. Great combination.

And nice Vamprah you got there!

Well, I went looking for the Mistika at TRU, but they were not there. I'll probably have to get them from S@H.

As for 2009, I am actually psyched for it. I like the latin-esque names and hope they will stay for a while. Maybe it will involve gladiator-like heroes and evil legionaires. I just hope the sets will justify me hanging on to Bionicle.

Oh, by the way, Trinuma looks awesome. There is just some thing about him that screams warrior that current sets lack.
