i like the use of RFID tags

VW have something similar in their autostadt Car tower:

I've seen condos where you drive in the car, get out, scan your apartment tag and it automatically parks for you. It can cram in more cars in the available space than a regular parking lot. LEGO uses something similar for their storage of their bins and bins of parts. Now if someone can do one for home sorting. And maybe tie into LDD part list or set inventory and have it deliver the needed pieces to your building work area.
