Graham Gidman Posted February 2, 2015 For Round 3 of the 2014-15 Middle Earth LEGO Olympics on MOCpages. My category was Pippin, so this is my interpretation of the scene in Return of the King when Pippin looks into the Palantír while in Edoras. I wanted to capture the emotion of the scene, rather than just recreating it. He feels trapped the Eye, consumed in darkness. And in the distance, he can see the Tree of Gondor burning, signifying the fall of the Minas Tirith.
Captain Braunsfeld Posted February 2, 2015 A good creation! But I hate the scene in the movie ... hobbits can be so stupid...
Balbo Posted February 2, 2015 (edited) Amazing! I really love the way you made the scene with saurons eye and the burning white tree of Gondor Good luck for the contest! Edited February 2, 2015 by Balbo
LittleJohn Posted February 3, 2015 Excellent build! I really like the dilapidated look you achieved with the wood and the eye looks great!
K-Nut Posted February 3, 2015 I absolutely love interpretive builds like this, and yours is just that. The crumbling ground and the darkness beneath look great and organic, as does the white tree. Nicely done.
Lord Tyrus Posted February 5, 2015 I absolutely love interpretive builds like this, and yours is just that. The crumbling ground and the darkness beneath look great and organic, as does the white tree. Nicely done. Exactly what I was going to say. I love it when builders add their own interpretation, like the Boromir/Frodo one that popped up recently.
Graham Gidman Posted February 5, 2015 Thanks, guys! Exactly what I was going to say. I love it when builders add their own interpretation, like the Boromir/Frodo one that popped up recently. Actually, I'm going up against that guy in the next round.
