Shark
is my 37th alternate build of the 42117 Race Plane I designed.

The Shark opens and closes his mouth while his tail swings from side to side. The pectoral fins move with the jaw since they are connected to the same cross axle.
Happy Building!

Anglerfish
is my 38th alternate build of the 42117 Race Plane I designed.

The Anglerfish opens and closes its mouth through a linkage by moving the lightstalk. All the fins can be angled. The body sections are hinged from the spine of the fish.
Happy Building!

My 30th officially released LEGO Technic model - LEGO Technic 42224 Porsche 911 GT3 R REXY AO Racing Car is here.

1313 carefully selected parts through countless hours of trial and error form one of the most unique 911s out there with its striking T-Rex livery.

The model features:

- Front axle steering and for the first time the HOG is intergated part of the model

- Working steering wheel - Independent suspension on all four wheels

- Rear wheel drive with differential connected to a 6 - cylinder engine with correct firing order

- Synchronized air jacks operated by the gear on the passenger side

- Opening double hinged doors

- Opening trunk

- Removable diffuser for easy acces to the engine

- Adjustable rear wing

My favourite part of the model is the wheel arch forming the rear of the car, the air jacks and the front axle and suspension setup.

Congrats on 30 models released!

I still remember your Sea Harrier, that I tried to recreate, but at the time didn't have a lot of parts, since I was just coming back out of my dark age!

How much time do you think went in designing this Porsche?

I just got the Ford GT 42154 and really enjoyed that model and build.

Congrats on the model!

6 - cylinder engine with correct firing order

Can you please give more insight into what this exactly means, how it is achieved? I don't know how a proper boxer engine should work, but some people say this cannot be true with the lego cam/piston pieces. For example, there are 3 cams and 6 pistons, so they are paiwise connected/dependent. Is that true for the real engine? Furthermore, the cams can only be rotated 90 degrees, no 60 or 120 degree difference can be made (as would be realistic to achieve uniform spacing). That means that two cams will be 180 degree opposite each other, which means that 2 pistons out of the 6 are going to fire at the same time (on opposing sides). Is that realistic for this car? Or do we misunderstand something?

Big congratulations on your 30th official release.

I must admit however, and I hate to be "that guy", but the "correct firing order" comment is puzzling. There are of course no spark plugs and nothing to fire. I believe the correct firing order would be shown as the red blinking dots in this video:

So we will assume that it actually refers to the layout of the crank/pistons. However the Lego Rexy appears to have a 180 degree V6 with a flat plane cam/crank. However I believe the real Porsche uses a boxer arrangement (opposite pistons move opposite, 6 pistons on 6 crank journals) with 120 degree offsets like as shown in the above video. I must also admit that the displacement of the older style regular pistons is much closer to a 1:10 scale than the newer cam style pistons which are too small.

Having whined about the engine I want to leave with something nice. The outside of the car definitely looks like the real thing. I appreciate the use of fewer larger panels because building bodywork isn't as fun to me as building working mechanisms, so the larger panels get it done faster and with a cleaner look.
