Thanks @Jundis here is my idea for the rest. Because rear axle does use a ball joint piece as differential housing like on the jeep:). Quote
Jurss Posted April 14 Posted April 14 I'm afraid here will be created better (with front driven) version of it before official release :D Quote
Auroralampinen Posted April 14 Posted April 14 And since the HOG gear is off centered i feel like the steering is done using links:). Quote
steph77 Posted April 14 Posted April 14 (edited) This front axle is exact the same that the one ibuild for the pneumatic contest. I have some doubt tlg use it because of non respect of stability building rules. This is more à moc technic than an official one. Wait and see... Edit. Except perhaps if they use 4.5 l axle with a stop that avoid the wheel to pop out the universal joint... Edited April 14 by steph77 Quote

Have the same feeling as you. But when looking at the excessive use of SNOT techniques, which were unthinkable 10 years ago, maybe Lego is catching up here. Sacrifizing stability for mechanical complexety. 1 hour ago, Auroralampinen said: And since the HOG gear is off centered i feel like the steering is done using links:). Nice attempt, especially the steering! Another idea came to mind to use this connector sideways , where the pinhole in the middle is for the diff axle and one of the pins for the attachment to the shock absorbers. But then, the ball joint connection is not possible... mmh... Quote
Auroralampinen Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Ok, the 42242 licence plate says LT 42242. So is this model designer Lars Thygesen or is that just Lego Technic in short;). Quote

Auroralampinen Posted April 14 Posted April 14 (edited) Ok, a little bit of tweaking the colors and zooming in. I think the unimog will have 4x4 drivetrain with differential on front axle. Because there is round dark bluish gray end shape(yellow arrow) a tan 12th bewel gear with red axle in the bewel gear axle hole(purple/pink arrow) plus a dark bluish gray bar/wall coming out of the round shape at the end(green arrow) so this model will be a really big/massive milestone for the most compact/smallest 4x4 drivetrain in technic history plus the first small offical technic build with 4x4 Edited April 14 by Auroralampinen Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted April 14 Posted April 14 It's nice to see something other than another car. It's great to see another pneumatic set too. Where is the pump? I was hoping for a proper successor to 8110, but given the 11+ age group and June release, this is about what I was expecting. Still, props to TLG for not giving us yet another car. Quote

Kamil Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Sure this new set is looking better than the previous models, but I think this is at least the third big scale Unimog Lego has ever created. So why so many Unimog's? Yes, somehow we are all attached to Unimogs, but isn't there any other interesting vehicles to build in the entire world? I guess, next year another Defender is also coming. I did not call this as big scale set and I think there is only another unimog set, maybe you think a zetros is an unimog. Quote

Kamil Posted April 15 Posted April 15 19 minutes ago, jorgeopesi said: maybe you think a zetros is an unimog. You are right, because, as we talked earlier in another topic, I think Lego Zetros is more an Unimog than a Zetros as a character. I never bought any bricks other than Lego but, when I look at Mould King's Avtoros Shaman for example, why not Lego having independent front/rear steering controls, by using both app. and physical remote controllers. My opinion is, Lego is at the comfort zone, and other copy brands are sadly taking over. Quote

MSSR Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Don't forget 8848 or 8854! Old school technic :-) Not sure if there were labed as "Unimog" Quote

Though the original statement did mention "big scale," which those are not. Also neither of those were marketed as Unimogs, though they were inspired by them Quote
Stereo Posted April 15 Posted April 15 If you include non-labeled ones, the 8848 Power Truck is fairly specifically a Unimog. Quote

Maaboo the Witch Posted April 15 Posted April 15 This 🐕looks way better than the Zetros. The front grill on that thing was a mess. Quote
Chili Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Lovely set—compact but packed with functions. Small size, big engineering. Guessing RRP: €119.95 Quote

Amt0571 Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Finally something that looks good. Now we just have to wait to know the outrageous price. Quote
