This thread collects all discussion about LEGO Star Wars sets; discuss your opinions here! Please read before posting:

  • Stay on target. stayontarget.gif
  • No wish lists. Remember that this topic is for discussing sets. If it's something you wish to see or something you think that we will see sometime in the future, but not something that's actually rumored to be an actual set, then it is pure speculation and it belongs in the Future Star Wars Sets topic. (We also have a topic for minifigures you want to see, which might be more appropriate.)
  • Please be civil. Remember that we come from different countries, cultures, languages, and backgrounds. Give everyone the benefit of the doubt and don't be a jerk. No fighting.
  • We strongly suggest you refrain from criticizing sets on the basis of what you imagine they're going to look like. Wait till we have pictures before you start complaining. And even then, think twice about it
  • If you post news in this thread, it will not be transferred over to the 2026 News thread.  Be smart, think about what you are posting and in what thread you are posting. This IS your warning!
  • If you have substantiated news, you can post it in the 2026 News thread. If your news is not able to be substantiated your post will be removed.
  • If you choose to post fabricated information; you can expect to be banned. It's not worth the fifteen minutes of internet fame.
  • Do not post watermarked or confidential images; they will be removed and the poster will be dealt with appropriately. As stated in our Member Guidelines:

If you find an image of a new LEGO set and it is incredibly blurry or stamped "Confidential", it is a leak-please don't post it here. If you are uncertain, PM a member of the staff for guidance and include a link to the questionable material.

This topic is for general Lego Star Wars set discussion.  We will make a new topic when we feel it is necessary.  If your post was on the boards, and now it's not...there is a good chance it was either hidden or moved.  Off topic posts, placing info in the wrong thread, or a request from LEGO to remove something; these are all possible reasons why something may have disappeared.

Ah, how I love that sweet smell of a freshly created Eurobricks Lego Star Wars Discussion Thread in the afternoon. Let's see how smart those bricks are shaping up for Lego's business... and what's in store for us anyways. Let the trials and tribulations begin. :moar:

Not long to go until the Smart Brick reveal! Very interested to see how the tech works and what it does even if I’m not at all excited about it being pushed down our throats.

@CloneCommando99 Meant to reply earlier but the scale of Ahsoka S2 being so much bigger really is exciting. With Filoni also mentioning a rivalry between Ackbar and Thrawn this season, it feels like S2 will balance the more esoteric Force stuff on Peridea and the large-scale conflict in the main galaxy (I wish Filoni would get Timothy Zahn more involved though). I’ll be flummoxed if there aren’t some good Lego sets being planned for the show just because of the Smart Brick and Mandalorian and Grogu sets.

With the large volume of Lego Mando sets we’ve received since 2021, I’m a little hesitant that TMaG is getting so many sets. Hopefully there’s enough new and novel content in them to get longstanding fans interested too, plus film tie-in waves tend to have a little extra effort put into them with the longer development times they get.

I think there' s gonna be a nice balance of new stuff (particularly minifigs) and new versions of established vehicles. Usually I'd frown upon another AT-AT for instance, but since it's a new version based on the model seen in Rebels, I'd welcome such a set  Just gimme ripped Rotta.

Smart brick is kind of cool I suppose, however not sure I would want it in multiple sets, would prefer to get one that interacts with regular sets as a stand alone product.  Definitely not willing to pay a premium for it.

x wing is a hard pass for me, hoping my kids dont like it either

the tie advanced looks ok from the pictures, I do want to see some more angles of it though.  Throne room looks ok (again would like to see more pictures) but a pass as it doesn’t offer anything new or unique to me.

And we have the first pics of the Smart Play sets! ...Vader's TIE Advanced is actually sand blue *huh* Didn't expect that to actually happen!

The pictures I'm seeing on Polygon show the TIE Advance as Light Grey.

The X-wing looks even worse than the leaks first showed it to be. But I am intrigued by the new canopy. Including an A-Wing with the Throne Room is an interesting choice. I still think this Smart Brick will be a horrible disaster, but I want to see more. Maybe some good parts can be got off Bricklink when these sets go on discount after not selling.

Yup, definitely light bluish grey! Must've been the quality of the leaked picture I saw. Looks pretty neat! I wanna see the thing in action though. We still don't know exactly what the smart bricks do and how they interact with the tags and each other. I kinda expected a video to showcase the functions, but alas...

jayong has a video on his Instagram that shows off some of the play features. I'll say that these Smart Bricks would not make my kids play with Lego more. They play already, they don't need sound bricks to get them excited.

My worry is this is just inviting kids to be less creative. You don't need a brick to create the play sounds or tell who finished a race first. Light bricks at least added something that you couldn't easily create in play.

Who was that introducing the SW smart bricks? No it can’t be. FILONIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!

X-Wing: Awful

TIE Advanced: mid

Throne Room: actually a cool design wth. That A-Wing looks decent too. The turret not so much.

I believe Filoni has said that he’s been using Zahn as a consultant.

A part of me hopes that with M&G and Ahsoka S2 sets almost certainly releasing this year that we might get a balanced battle wave throughout the year. This may be the first time in LA SW where the two opposing factions have equal combat capabilities and tactics level. So hopefully that can get represented in Lego. 5-7 sets in total. A NR v Imperial Remnant BP, 2-3 M&G/ Mandalorian Legacy sets and 2-3 Ahsoka S2 sets.

According to leaks there may be a big ground battle on Dathomir so we may finally see what the NR is using for armour support on the ground. Which would be a great Lego set.

Well said. Half the point of Lego is that it’s left to the child’s (and AFOLs’ at times) imagination. I just don’t think smart minifigs particularly should exist. Smart bricks I think would be cool in a couple of instances, but not an entire wave like it is now. Like the next buildable R2 D2 would be cool to include a smart brick.

Edit: Blurry AT ST pic has leaked. 🗿 It also appears the Ewok is the smart minifig.

The Tie Advanced looks ok. Don't need the sitebuild, figures or the smartbrick. But maybe it is enough to get the instruction from the Lego-website and rebuild it with more grey and less red. But I will wait for more pictures.

Edit: On a closer look the Tie Advanced looks really like a +4 set and nothing more. I wait fot the official pictures but yet I don't like it.

So, having seen everything there is to see right now, I've got the following to say: no.

Okay, now that's out of the way, let's get some positivity in here. I really like the box art for the Smart Play sets. It looks very early 2000s to me. In terms of new minifigures, as expected, only the Rebel Technician and A-Wing Pilot are interesting to me.

As you can see, the positive clearly outweighs the negative. :head_back:

The Falcon, Cantina and Landspeeder have also leaked (albeit very blurry). The two location based sets seem to be a bit better than all the vehicle sets which just don’t look very good. The cantina looks similar to the 2015 version but I must admit I am excited to see the official pictures. I think it’s a shame actually because if these sets were normal/regular it would make a great ANH wave (plus the Throne Room) but instead we have a lot of chibi style sets.

Hahahahahhaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

they just look like 4+ sets, what is the obsession with the turrets? Genuinely think these are worst than the first order AT ST.

my daughter is 3 and she plays with toys without the need for apps and tablets and that she’s happy to sit in a corner and just play. Are there genuinely kids that need this kind of stuff to enjoy? I really hope these go the way of the videyo theme. What even worse is they’ve ruined the minifigures.

seriously though if you want kids to buy and play lego Star Wars make cheap affordable sets with desirable figures in. Kids don’t need gimmicks never have in 90+ years of lego existing

Ewok attack and hoth snowspeeder apparently coming as smart sets

You could see him. In your mind’s eye.

Oh man that would be sweet. Fingers crossed.

It’s a charming and very well made ad, except the visual and sound effects completely overshadow the Smart Brick itself without letting it shine and showing what it can actually do. We get some hints of lights and sounds but that’s it.

From a technology standpoint, I’m really interested to see some of the actual use-cases for the Smart Brick but what they’re actually showing so far just comes off as hype. The miniaturised tech is impressive, and some of the listed features like the magnetic positioning system sound like they have potential (if the Smart Brick can react intelligently to two dog-fighting ships for instance, that’s cool). Not sure if my eyes are deceiving me but I think I saw the X-Wing’s Smart Brick light up in specific areas corresponding with each of its four laser cannons too?

The package art pops as well. Seeing how simplified these builds are (yikes) does assuage some of my concerns that these are intended to wholly replace normal playscale sets, but yeah we really need to see more here. I can see kids and some adults having a blast with these, but agree that Lego works best when it’s inherently an analogue system. I’ve no issue when they experiment with digital augmentation with things like the Smart Brick provided they don’t push it as a complete replacement for normal sets. Plus to their credit, it seems like an app will only be used for firmware updates and diagnostics.

The X-Wing, TIE Fighter and Throne Room look like poor 4/8+ sets and I have absolutely zero interest in them! :hmpf_bad:

I'll be amazed if they don't hit 40% off within a couple of months.  I really don't understand why LEGO thinks these will sell - they're clearly intended for younger builders, but I can't imagine that the majority of parents will be willing to pay £80 for a <600 part W-Wing!  The minifigures don't look anything special either, so that's going to limit the demand for collectors......

The Cantina doesn't look quite as bad, but I'll wait until we have some decent photographs before I make a final judgement on them.

Ah well, it looks like I can spend my budget picking up some older sets/minifigures this year!

More Smart Play sets are apparently coming:

- Ewok Attack ($30)

- Battle of Hoth: Echo Base ($140)

- (Buildable?) R2-D2

I guess this means we can expect a summer wave?

Also looks like there’s a new R2 figure with a rotating head - except the body now has four studs on the back to accommodate the Smart Tile.

These smart brick sets have killed what little interest I had left in this theme. I'm more excited about what castle or LOTR has to offer this year, and I say this as someone whose always had Star Wars as my #1 theme.

Unless there’s also a 9849 remake to tie in with this. Then it’d be more stomachable

Nevermind. That piece of hopefulness didn’t even get a kriffing hour before it was scorched.

That’s three set slots gutted out of the summer wave. Time to start praying for 2027? :jollyroger:

Time for pick a brick imperial base and Ninjago Legacy ig. Unless the TIE Avenger reinforces us this August.

Edit: Holy Kriff!!!!! M&G coming in clutch! And none of them smart brick.

  • $180 AT AT
  • $140 imperial shuttle (might actually be the best ever at that price)
  • $200 Sandcrawler with Mudhorn (I think we found the 14+ set)

$200 Sandcrawler, $180 AT-AT, and $140 Imperial Shuttle. Should all be decent sized builds
