Also the leaker said only Lloyd and Toa were the only throwbacks and the rest of them were regular CMF. Was it wrong?

Im hoping "classic" just means regular series....

jsut like Ajaccio Lego said, i think the normal minifigures a that would reprint classic themes?

Someone posted a pic in Reddit. And it looks like this Seires will be “classic” and it will come out in….June?

Likely the Australian Catalogue, if I remember correctly, they get the series always one month later.

Oh very true.

I really want this to be the line-up, especially Nexo Knights and Elves rep. Wouldn't mind classic Friends like Stephanie.

If you want Nexo Knights, you can still buy a lot of them cheaper than the price of a CMF on bricklink.

This is more fun.

Is Ninjago a classic though?

It’s been 15 years, so I’d say so

They’ve never referred to a regular series as “classic” or any other such term. To me, calling out a regular series like that would only make sense if we hadn’t seen one for years :classic:

Or, it’s a translation issue

I guess some people would still love to get a new shield, fresh design etc. The Nexo Knights already got a quite modern design, but when I think on past castle factions for instance I prefer the newer, modern version over the original.

Surely if it was 'classic' it would just be a rehash of an existing figure.

I can't imagine these just being outright remakes of classics. I expect Lego to take liberties in reinterpreting them. Some of them will be runaway hits and some will leave many of us hanging.

Remember when that Blacktron alien came out? We didn't have all the parts to make a complete Blacktron, nor the alien.

Exactly, we already had a leaker who had inside knowledge of included characters say that the Ninjago and Bionicle figs were the only throwbacks and the rest of the series was ‘normal’. Either that person was needlessly lying to bum people out or the other 10 minifigures can pass as normal CMF characters at first glance.

So I’m skeptical that we’ll see, say, a fig with a crocodile head, because anyone who would refer to Tahu and Lloyd by name would immediately see that and say, ‘hey, is that Fabuland/Chima? Maybe there are more than just two throwbacks.’ Same goes for named characters (like Willa the Witch), a Power miner with a rock monster, or even a new color of classic spaceman.

What wouldn’t independently register as classic throwbacks, even to an experienced eye? Knights, other medieval characters, cowboys, Native Americans, classic monsters, mummies, scuba divers, aliens, pirates, elves, robots, athletes, Vikings, and of course the ever present modern day civilians that would represent City/Town/Friends – because Lego has included all of those in CMFs before.

Seriously, would any one of us see a teenage girl with a cute pet and immediately register that she’s supposed to represent the Friends theme? I doubt it, because that’s basically how series 22 introduced the foal mold.

Which isn’t to say that we won’t get anything fun and exciting, because I also doubt that any of us would register that an Anubis fig was a reference to Pharaoh’s Quest when the last standard series included a Greco-Roman god and several of us have said we wish they’d do Egyptian ones as well. So there are loads of possibilities out there even being ‘normal’ passing.

Well, likely they would, but even then it would not be a one to one copy of the old figure. And actually I don´t think that it is that unlikely that the CMF team decides to create a new one based on one of their favourite animals or so...

I really like what you are thinking!  This is pretty possible for us to see normal figures that represents different themes. I think Groom and Horse figure from Series 22 was suppsoed to represent Paradise?

Leakers are totally never, ever wrong or lying... :hmpf:

Given how things go on the internet, not sure why everyone is taking a leaker's word as gospel. Ever.

Thanks,  and yeah, it's true. Believe me, I hang out in movie, TV, other toyline circles, and leakers are either misinformed, purposefully get fed wrong info, or just like to troll, even the most reliable ones have their off days.

I dunno… sometimes leakers get their own errors no matter how reliable they are.

Obviously, approaching what leakers say with skepticism is important, I get that. (I was part of the Harry Potter community back in 2020 when a rando on instagram started very prolifically lying about the theme for attention, I’m very familiar with the concept of trolls in this context.)

The issue here is that this is coming from the same person who said there would be two throwback characters in the series weeks before an official Lego catalog identified it as a ‘Classic’ series. That’s a pretty crazy thing to just guess and lie about knowing and then get vague confirmation you might be right about later.

I’m not saying this leaker has to be telling the truth – I’m just postulating a situation that I believe makes more logical sense than ‘a liar correctly predicted something rather specific’ or ‘someone reliably leaked two characters of the series that would excite fans but then lied about all the others in a way that would disappoint people.’

(And, incidentally, I am suggesting that the leaker made a mistake. I’m just also trying to suggest how that mistake could have logically been made.)

Thanks for the news! 🙂

Could it be that the leaker mixed something up? In Lego BAM 2026 (simply search eBay), Lloyd appears with exactly the mask. And for one who isn't in Bionicle, Toa looks similar to the Garmaddon minifigure there.

And the German catalogue only says "Minifiguren Serie 29 ab Mai erhältlich" (= "minifigure series 29 available in May"); there's no word of it being a classic one. But it's sure it'll be a non-licensed series.

That's.... odd

I have hope again

Why? Don’t’ you like classic miniatures?

I've been seeing a lot of people in the Lego community hoping and praying that this isn't a throwback collection, and is just a "regular" CMF collection instead. I think the reasonings behind this are: people not wanting to spend $$$ collecting and nostalgia might spur them to do so, these CMFs might not be great customs for them, they just plain do not like the older figs especially ones like Ninjago and Bioncle, they don't want the CMFs to "change" and want them to remain static (which is why many don't like licensed sets either)... If I'm missing anything, please, let me know.

I found that’s very ironic - some castle fans went crazy about Beastmaster because A.) it’s Wolfpack and B.) it has a wolf.  As well as Vampire Knight. And some space fans went crazy about a brown Classic Spaceman  and a few miniatures form Series 26.  Some of us are asking for throwback (ironically Robert8 asked for King Kahuka here a few pages ago).

I feel like Lego knows what AFOLs want some mini figures from old themes for old time’s sake.  So it seems there are mixed reactions.

To me, I don’t care what kind of regular series - themed or normal - I am always happy to collect every single minifigure. I am happy with Birthday Party Series 18, Costume Party Series 22, Space Series 26, Animals Series 28.  I gues  it’s impossible for Lego to satisfy everyone at same time.

Now,i think it’s very confusing what Series 29 is supposed to be - Classic or simply a normal series.
