Wouldn't medium azure or one of the aquas be a better approximation of the Gulf livery (assuming we'll get that and not yet another dark-blue-with-white-stripes) than sand blue?

To me bright light blue is the best fit for Gulf, but I think Lego already used medium azure in the speed champions ford GT.  I think the actual colour's between those.

Another 4 sets' price has been leaked:

42225 7+ $9.99

42226 9+ $64.99

42227 10+ $64.99

42228 18+ $229.99

We can assume the bigger ones will be two 1:16 cars and a 1:8 F1.

It looks like March wave... Hopefully June and August waves will be revealed soon. Which F1 team could it be? Reskin McLaren is my first guess. Aston Martin is second opinion since we have already few licenses from Aston

I'd pay good money just to see the sales figures for each new technic set individually.

How can cars sell so well that we get even more cars every new wave?

If I were a designer at lego technic department, I would be upset to do the same thing over and over again....

@Auroralampinen Can you update the list on the first post on this thread? So we keep the overview up to date :-)

Indeed, although improvements been made over the years but, they aint no groundbreaking. I think they got sick.

Personally I think the whole Technic design team should be sent to vacation for at least three months while the execs straight to hell  Then we can actually expect something better!

If LEGO produce cars because they sell well, it could mean that in time, Technic will be split into one part car sets and one part other sets, leadning to more Technic sets developed in total. However, I would be worried if instead the increase in amount of car sets produced is due to non-car sets selling poorly. But without sales data, one can only speculate, and that I feel is quite pointless.

Regarding the whole too many cars topic. Everyone votes with their wallets and it's normal for business to focus on what sells. So... Just buy more other things than cars and we will get more of such!

Regardless, it sucks that there are far more car fanciers out there than there are construction equipment aficionados. Owning a Lambo is cool,. but can it really compare to owning a backhoe? Not to me!

Well... Brought 42208 Volvo loader. Regarding 42215 my wallet is speechless.

I wonder if there is a theme that could maybe bridge the gap between all the cars and construction equipment?  Maybe tow trucks and fire trucks?   Seems to me a proper fire truck would be a nice model that those of us who like construction equipment could also appreciate.  I think it would also appeal to much of the demographic that tends to gravitate towards cars as well.  A ladder truck with stabilizers would be a nice set, even better if it were a tiller truck with steering trailer axle.  Tow trucks would also appeal to a lot of people, and even a new car transporter would be nice.

The last few construction flagships have been totally botched by TLG, generally by being excessively large to the point of not operating well and/or being far too overpriced.  Then the poor reviews come in and TLG interprets that as people not liking construction equipment, so they revert to cars even more.  The Arocs was, imo, the last great flagship with the 42128 Heavy Duty Tow Truck and 42145 Helicopter being the next best non-flagship sets.

The big red 42082 was really great, given the functionality and price for a 4000 piece model.

A firetruck, especially the tiller truck you mentioned would be something very cool!

And with the tires from the 42160, there must be a new mobile crane  around the corner. We hadn't one for a very long time (42108 was from 2020...).

Also: We need a new proper John Deere of Claas or Fendt or whatever tractor with a trailer or at least some equipment.

Let's cross fingers for the big sets in 2H2025.

Dont get your hopes up... they giving us the potential good technical sets as minis (backhoe this year, next year 1470 harvester)

Most of the 2H2026 gonna be cars, thats a safe bet. But the only thing we know for sure is that 2027 gonna be even worse
