And every "not too distant future" city set is as functional as a "pre historic" technic sets like the 42055:).

It will be REALLY funny if city release BWE as construction set

I can easily see it: the top conveyor belt directly connected to the bucket wheel on one end and a crank on the other. Any other functions would be manual. The set as a whole would be way smaller than 42055, obviously.

Yes, and in the new backhoe loader set. There is already a new smaller bucket at the rear. So i think its not too far fetched that we will get a city BWE in the future:).

If I'm not mistaken, that's Chris Stamp, who used to lead Speed Champions... which is all about licensed cars.

But at least he does it with an overarching concept in mind and quite a bit of forward thinking, which does not seem to be the case for the technic team. If it's licensed cars that sell, then be it (I like to model real stuff too), but for god's sake, just make them good technically! The problem is that they don't even want to invest in good car parts too much. Sure, we've been getting a few new drivetrain / suspension elements recently, but at the same time they come out with sets that are missing the opportunities and are looking lame. An example: this year, two small scale off-roaders are coming out (Jeep and Unimog), both with live axles. Last year we had the Bronco, so hopefully, there will be more to follow. Wouldn't it have been a good idea to design a few parts to support proper driven front suspension in that scale? I wonder how many licensed more cars will they churn out at this scale without proper suspension / drivetrain..

The whole point of Technic is to be "technical", I much prefer the technical features of the late 1980s and early 1990s over the "looks good but lacks features" that we are getting now.

The new Unimog gives me some hope.

Lets take those hated cars. Ferrari FXX K 42212

OK, standard things - HOG steering, fake engine, also differential (not standard in that scale, in fact).

Not much, but differential is connected trough gears to wheels. Then, rear is openable, and there is not standard hinge, but with virtual pivot. And then doors, not with simple hinge, but with 3D movement - up and out.

And build it self is pretty complex - doors, also everything behind dashboard.

You've picked one of the least hated cars of this Technic sub theme. What about Supra

What about Supra

Google says: ""Supra" is a Latin term meaning "above," "over," or "beyond" ... ". That was easy. Another one?

The supra's front end especially the lights. Looks like (at least for me) a halloween Jack-o-Lantern
