The rotation and the small rear section motion:). https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/project-hail-mary-11389 Quote

And how the single crank controls the 2 different functions. And in my opinion the hail mary is kind of like the dune ornithopter with amazing technical features and functions:). Quote
kbalage Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago To be honest I don't expect Ornithopter-level complexity here, but yes, I will review the set. Quote

Now this a set that I'm interested in and it does look pretty cool. Shame we have better mechanisms in sets outside of Technic... Quote
Gzynek2323 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I know we’ve been debating how technic is getting much less technical, but I think the upside of this current trend is the brilliant technical solutions are getting infused in other themes and other sets Quote

Now we have models outside the Technic theme which have much more sophisticated mechanism AND more appearing looks, too. Recent examples were the 10327 Ornithopter or the 10363 DaVinci Flying machine. When we look at cars it's even more absurd: You have nearly same functions in the 10317 Defender as in similar sized technic models AND way better looks. Just a matter of time till we get the moveable pistons (see City Set 60466 Bulldozer), then its Model Team revived. I really hope Lego will broaden their line-up in future years and use the potential of complex mechanisms again. Hopefully the remaining models of 2026 are NOT cars. Gzynek2323 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I do get your points. I personally prefer cars over technical machinery, but I do believe that Lego should go back to something like Racers theme and not make technic all about cars. Quote

I've been saying since 2018 that Icons vehicles are Model Team in every way that matters. Model Team vehicles never had moveable pistons. As you can easily check for yourself, the only Technic function that Model Team vehicles ever had was simple rack-and-pinion HOG steering, sometimes connected to the steering wheel in the cabin. Any Icons vehicle with steering or another mechanical function of similar complexity is Model Team. Any Creator 3-in-1 large-scale vehicle with steering or another mechanical function of similar complexity is Model Team. Any large-scale System-built vehicle in any other theme with steering or another mechanical function of similar complexity is Model Team. The Advanced Designer Set subtheme of Creator, way back in 2004, was Model Team. Model Team, as a designated theme, is long gone, but Model Team never left in spirit. If some sort of mechanical functionality embedded in a brick-built structure is the dividing line between Model Team and other large-scale vehicles, then sets I would label as post-Model Team "Model Team" include the following. This isn't necessarily an exhaustive list or a list that's well-sorted by year and theme, and it excludes a lot of other large System-built sets with interesting and creative Technic mechanisms because they can't be described as vehicles (ie, the Aquarium, the Pac-Man Arcade, the NES, etc). TLDR, Model Team is thriving. List below inside spoiler tag: Spoiler 11375 Ferrari F1 & Michael Schumacher (Icons, 2026). My optimist outlook is that the cars are easier to leak because people recognize them. The heavy equipment names don't mean as much and the sets look more "the same" (eg. if we get another Volvo, it'll likely be black and yellow). Quote
