I will make MOC from both models: jet and helicopter.2025 there are 3 sets I will buy BUT actually I need doubles all of them so TOTAL: 6 sets! You're in the wrong topic: This isn't the 2024 Dreamzzz thread.
imposter Posted April 12 Author Posted April 12 Dreamzzz is LEGO IN-HOUSE theme. We have to multiple each set by 2. It might be that Dreamzzz is only theme where there are REAL creativity. Ninjago plays safe. CITY is just evolving. Technic, Speed Champions, Creative all go where the bar is lowest. Unfortunately Friends is also in this same category. Our Sci-fi & Fantasy theme is almost like endangered animal. WE ALL should protect it and others like it.
Karalora Posted April 12 Posted April 12 I think if this thread has taught us anything, it's that there's no accounting for taste.

So you are saying let's have ONLY licensed themes? No creativity. Think about it. Year 2026 and only 1 original idea, Ninjago. Dreamzzz is ending and so on...

You like what you like. Point is that we are loosing ALL in-house themes 2026-2030. That is future of LEGO. So maybe for you it is ok to just buy SW and Marvel but I want CREATIVE themes. We probably won't get Castle, Pirates, Space, Western back, or even Adventurers... BUT after Dreamzzz... it would be a real NIGHTMARE to have a period without any COOL lego themes. Think about Modern Under Water Agent theme, Alien Sci-fi theme, maybe Monster Fighters 3000. Or Cyberpunk theme. I have no idea what TLG is planning. Maybe new in-house themes are LIVE-ACTION Movies related. Edited April 12 by imposter

Point is that there are way too many LICENSED themes. 1.) In year 2030 there are only CITY and Friends 2.) Monkey Kid, Ninjago, Dreamzzz, all discontinued 3.) 50 % LEGO sets are licensed GAME themes 4.) Star Wars, Harry Potter, Superheroes, Minecraft are in TOP-5 themes 5.) Don't be creative >> just watch MOVIE, play GAME or follow TV SHOW ... And so LEGO has changed completely.
MAB Posted April 13 Posted April 13 On 4/11/2025 at 5:39 PM, Mandalorianknight said: The first part is a fair point but I think you're missing what people mean when they talk about creativity with the older themes. The older space and castle themes that only had a loose outline of faction descriptions and had few if any named characters, much less a concrete storyline, encouraged creativity in kids to tell stories and come up with their own characters, something that's not necessarily as prominent with all the licensed and story themes. Sure, kids still make their own scenarios, but the incentive to make up your own characters isn't as strong when everything's laid out for you. It's company side storytelling vs consumer side storytelling. Yet play will still follow a fairly conventional path with these unlicensed sets. Most kids with a forestman set will have played out a Robin Hood style storyline with the forest men being on the side of good, probably rogue like characters. Similarly a kid with a City police set will have the crooks do something bad and the cops chase them. These sets work because kids know how to play with them. The characters they invent will likely be stereotypes based on existing books, movies and other stories. This is no more creative than coming up with stories based on licensed characters. There is a huge amount of fan created fiction around Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Disney, and so on. Yesterday my daughter and two of her friends were playing something to do with Disney Princesses, but not acting out any storyline I recognized. That is just as creative as a cop chasing a robber. Whereas if you try to build a theme where there is no reference material for a kid to fall back on, then I expect they will struggle to play with it rather than be able to come up with truly creative characters. That is why kids and especially adults want printed minifig parts, because it tells us what the character is and partly how to play with it. 10 hours ago, imposter said: You like what you like. LEGO is not going to kill off one of its best selling themes in CITY, it will not be killing Creator, it will not be killing Friends, it will not be killing off the Modular buildings, and it will probably be creating at least one new unlicensed theme in the next five years. I hope Dreamzzz ends fairly soon, as if it continues it will become boring like most unlicensed themes based around a fairly specific gimmick. Ninjago proved to be different because it was not constrained so narrowly by a single idea and could evolve to cover multiple ideas.

I´d rather say he is clearly trolling. But it is just getting more and more ridiculous to the point he make up facts. He wasn´t banned for no reason after all. 35 minutes ago, MAB said: I hope Dreamzzz ends fairly soon, as if it continues it will become boring like most unlicensed themes based around a fairly specific gimmick. It is said that there will be one wave next year and then it will be done (though the source actually just said there would be no wave in the second half of 2026 so sets for 2027 were not actually rules out - but it indeed seems unlikely to happen). At the same time we will also have to see if we get a new inhouse theme next year or if they just use the free slots for the pokemon theme.

Probably the same as just putting videos everywhere without a single word. He should make an own youtube channel or something, since a forum is for discussions which don´t happen if you just put a video - or make claims saying everyone with an other opinion is wrong anyways. Not to mention, that those videos don´t even support his claims.

This is also his third EB account with Turtle and RiddlerDC being his others that were banned - they all write EXACTLY the same way, among other things. I keep reporting him for breaking the rules but no one has stopped him this time yet despite this flagrant violation of the rules of EB. It's maddening. Edited April 13 by Murdoch17

Well, except for lying about not having any DC sets

kuzyabricks Posted April 13 Posted April 13 I don't agree with his delivery maybe but I agree with his take. I would love more original Lego themes. I'm not saying to get rid of IP sets but I do miss Atlantis/Ultra Agents/Power Miners/ Lego Pirates etc a lot. Like a full theme not a D2C here and there. I'm personally not a fan of Dreamzzz but absolutely loved the first two years of Monkie Kid. Excited to see what will replace Dreamzzz.

Not all of them BUT sci-fi and some doubles. Next is that terrible Green car. I will buy 2 because I need car and motorcycle. Then I MOC them and change colorscheme.
