danth Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 It really seems more and more that Lego isn't for kids. These are priced like adult sets. Including the $60 Pikachu, assuming it's a single buildable model. Quote

I'm getting sick of my age being seen as dollar signs by Lego. I want the same kinds of sets I wanted as a kid, not multi-hundred dollar monstrosities that I need a whole table to display and are too big too tear down for MOCs. Quote
Coryo Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 An image of the smart brick Pikachu set has leaked in the usual places Spoiler It looks genuinely shocking for an 18+ set, if Lego has to compromise so many elements of the design just to include the smart brick, I really hope the gimmick stays confined to this one specific set, and won't affect any of the non-18+ sets. Meaf Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 Interesting that we're seeing this one first, I assumed we'd get a look at the first three sets to release before this one? Unless this one is actually also releasing alongside those. I guess the 2026 leaks have been weird in general though. Quote
Robert8 Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 That pikachu looks.......... rough Looks like something from the 2000s Quote
CF Mitch Posted October 10, 2025 Posted October 10, 2025 That... is not a great Pikachu. At all. Oh, well. Hopefully the starters will be better, but I probably won't be buying anything from LEGO Pokémon anyway... Regards, Mitch Quote
Mr Hobbles Posted October 10, 2025 Posted October 10, 2025 (edited) The Pikachu looks a lot like the smart brick Mario. I dunno, I expected it to look different. Since I’ve heard they’re using the brick inside an X-Wing I thought it’d be shaped less like a character and more like a large normal brick. But, as has already been mentioned, that is clearly not the 18+ Pikachu. That’s a different set, a play set. Edited October 10, 2025 by Mr Hobbles Quote
VinnieCannoli Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 (edited) I hope we will see "kids oriented" sets eventually. If not - there won't be anything interesting to me. These +18-priced black boxes for afols are my least favorite thing in Lego and i would never want pokemon in this style. Sonic is a perfect example of sets that both-adults and kids love. +18 is those sets people post on reddit as black boxes they probably are not going to open because it's "an investment". I already see scalpers calculating profits before these sets even released. Harry Potter is another good example - lots of fun stuf + afol stuff. I will be glad if Lego will go this route making all kinds of sets for everybody from holiday calendars, minifigure magazines and polybags to "adult" products. Pokemon cards hobby is already kinda stressful these days. At least make lego look fun, come on! Edited October 11, 2025 by VinnieCannoli Quote

squiz18 Posted November 19, 2025 Posted November 19, 2025 Seen some rumours today that the $650 set is Blastoise, Venusaur and Charizard, not squirtle, bulbasaur, charmander. Hopefully hear some more info soon. Quote
Black Falcon Posted November 19, 2025 Posted November 19, 2025 Watch them making a Set where you can actually build all three versions ;). Quote
Meaf Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 I feel like I may have already made this point before but with regards to the Kanto starters set, I still cannot fathom why they're putting all three in one set. The three of them (regardless of whether its their first or final forms) are among the most popular pokemon ever and I have no doubt that there's zero chance they wouldn't sell incredibly well if they were each their own set. I'm sure it will still make plenty of money as is but this seems like such an unforced error. Imagine how many people would buy one of these for $200, if anything you might end up seeing people buy all three over time since it's less money upfront, whereas now a huge chunk of people who might be interested (dare I say the majority?) won't pick it up because it's way too much money to be spending on Legos. I dunno, it just seems like a stupid idea to me. Quote
TeriXeri Posted November 28, 2025 Posted November 28, 2025 (edited) New pink color in 31218 Japanese Cherry Blossom Landscape , really might be used for Pokémon as well, even just in Gen 1, there are the Clefairy, Chansey and Jigglypuff lines, and Mew which are well known by this point. New pink also seems useful for accents like inner ears/mouth of some pokémon like Meowth. Edited November 28, 2025 by TeriXeri Quote

The new bluish lavender color (seen in the Daisies botanical set) could also maybe be useful for some like Koffing. Quote
TeriXeri Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 (edited) With Fortnite products having codes to redeem in-game, I really wonder if they have mystery gift stuff from buying LEGO sets. On one hand I hope not, especially not exclusives , shiny legendaries or mythicals, but getting some redeem code for a pokémon in the set with something like OT (original trainer) named LEGO, that could be fun. It's possible, though I don't know if I'd expect it. I think I've seen other non-Lego Fortnite merch that offers redeemable codes like that, whereas that's not really a "thing" for non-Lego Pokémon merch. And the incentives for doing so with Fortnite (a free to play game available across pc, mobile, and consoles) are probably higher than with Pokémon (a game series that's mainly on mobile and one console and costs money on console, meaning a potentially lower install base to market freebies toward). For that matter, the fact that Pokémon is "split" between multiple games and versions might be an issue if they were to do mystery gift codes, since I think mystery gift codes are typically game specific (i.e. a code for Legends Z-A could only be redeemed on that game, leaving people who only have Scarlet/Violet in the lurch). Fortnite is more "centralized" in a sense, so codes for that can be redeemed by anyone with that game and rewards can be used across various "modes" like Lego Fortnite. Quote
TeriXeri Posted November 30, 2025 Posted November 30, 2025 (edited) True, also LEGO seems to be focused on a Fortnite crossover with Ninjago, so I think that'll be a bigger focus. Edited November 30, 2025 by TeriXeri Quote
TeriXeri Posted December 1, 2025 Posted December 1, 2025 (edited) Another new color in 2026 : 431 blue violet Could be interesting to see it used for Starmie. Edited December 1, 2025 by TeriXeri Quote
a_clay_brick Posted December 5, 2025 Posted December 5, 2025 According to @Lego_Minecraft_Goat, one of the Summer 2026 sets will be "Smart Play: Pikachu's House" for $70 USD. Its main build is supposedly a PIkachu shape house and includes the Pikachu we've seen and a Smart Brick. Quote
LegendaryArticuno Posted December 5, 2025 Posted December 5, 2025 Honestly, Megablocks did a really good job in designing their Pokemon sets. I don't see LEGO surpassing let alone meeting MEGABLOKS in terms of design quality. Also Lego is going to be significantly more expensive than Megabloks. Quote

Maybe in a coupla years ^^ Pikachu will be the theme‘s X-Wing or Hogwarts Express and thus always be on shelves, one way or another Edited December 25, 2025 by BrickBob Studpants Quote
